Abstract

Drugs are substances, guide substances, and biological products that are used to influence or investigate physiological systems or pathological states. Medicines can have generic names and trade names. People think that drugs with generic names produce lower therapeutic effects than trade names, as is the case in the Genteng Kulon community. The aim of this community service activity is to provide information regarding the differences between medicines based on generic names and trade names to the Genteng Kulon Village community. The method used was counseling and giving leaflets. Apart from that, people also do pre-test and post-test questions. This community service activity was attended by 50 representatives of posyandu figures in Genteng Kulon Village. The result of community service activities is that representatives of posyandu figures receive information regarding the differences in medicines based on generic names and trade names. People can use drugs with generic names without worrying about efficacy, especially for people who receive drug services from BPJS. There is an increase in the post test score compared to the pre test.

Abstract

Hazardous and Toxic Materials are substances, chemical and biological in a single form or mixture, whose properties, concentration, or amount can contaminate, damage, and endanger the environment and health directly or indirectly. Improper storage of Hazardous and Toxic Materials can harm humans and the environment. Blambangan Regional Public Hospital has a Hazardous and Toxic Materials Warehouse used for storing chemicals needed for pharmacy service processes. This study aimed to investigate the Hazardous and Toxic Materials storage in the Hazardous and Toxic Materials Warehouse at Blambangan Regional Public Hospital. This was an observational study using descriptive methods. It was conducted in the Hazardous and Toxic Materials Warehouse of Blambangan Regional Public Hospital during June-July 2023. The results showed that the Hazardous and Toxic Materials storage in the Blambangan Regional Public Hospital Warehouse had Hazardous and Toxic Materials inventory data, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). The availability of Hazardous and Toxic Materials safety facilities includes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Hazardous and Toxic Materials signs and symbols, and a spill kit. However, the lack of safety facilities includes Hazardous and Toxic Materials cabinets, body wash stations, and eye wash stations. Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Hazardous and Toxic Materials management are still incomplete, and Hazardous and Toxic Materials emergency handling is not yet well established. This study concludes that the Hazardous and Toxic Materials storage in Blambangan Regional Public Hospital Warehouse does not meet the requirements according to Permenkes No. 66 of 2016, because out of 5 required aspects, only 3 aspects are fulfilled.

Abstract

Potential hazards are things that have the potential to cause incidents resulting in losses. Besides the risk of disease infection, hospitals have other hazards, such as Hazardous and Toxic Materials. Hazardous and Toxic Materials refer to chemical and biological substances, either individually or mixed, which contaminate and disrupt the environment due to their properties, concentration, or quantity and endanger the health of all contaminated organisms. Blambangan Regional Public Hospital is a workplace with potential hazards and risks that can lead to work accidents. This study aimed to identify potential hazards and risks in the Hazardous and Toxic Materials Warehouse at Blambangan Regional Public Hospital. This research was a qualitative descriptive study with an observational approach using the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) method. The research was conducted at the Hazardous and Toxic Materials Warehouse at Blambangan Regional Public Hospital in June-July 2023. The results identified medium-risk potential hazards and risks in the Hazardous and Toxic Materials Warehouse at Blambangan Regional Public Hospital: moving and arranging goods from trolleys to storage pallets, delivering B3 materials to Hemodialysis Units, an unclean environment in the Hazardous and Toxic Materials warehouse, scattered cardboard boxes piles. If muscles are subjected to repeated loads over a long period, there is a risk of joint damage (musculoskeletal disorders). This research concludes that potential hazards exist in Blambangan Regional Public Hospital's Hazardous and Toxic Materials warehouse located in Banyuwangi, including ergonomic, chemical, and mechanical dangers, each with a medium risk ranking.

Abstract

The number of positive cases of COVID-19 is still being reported in Indonesia. However this number has decreased significantly compared to the previous time. Prevention efforts are still being carried out by the government in suppressing the number of COVID-19. One of the efforts is the Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS). An example of PHBS is to use hand sanitizer. People can use hand sanitizer if there is no place to wash their hands with soap and water. The manufacture of hand sanitizers has also developed by utilizing herbal plants. This herbal plant certainly has medicinal and antibacterial properties. This plant can also be cultivated around the yard of the house. The purpose of this activity is to optimize the use of Sereh Wangi into pharmaceutical dosage forms that are useful for the community. The methods are counseling activities, guidance and manufacturing practices, and the provision of hand sanitizers. The students of the Asy Syafi'i Islamic Boarding School have knowledge about other benefits of Sereh Wangi after participating in community service. Santriwati feels happy because she can make and apply the products that have been made by herself.
