Abstract

Writing skills are one aspect of language skills. Writing skills are also one of the things that are very meaningful to be taught to students because the ability to write is a need that must be owned and this activity will be very beneficial in educational activities, especially in Indonesian lessons. This expansion aims to analyze recognizing the process of improving skills education through contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach methods in grade IV students. Not only that to recognize the results of improving the education of writing skills through contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach in students. This research consists of TWO cycles. In this research procedure, action and observation activities are combined at one time, is when the activity is carried out at the same time as observation or observation. Researchers conducted observations of the change in attitude of students. After that the results are reflected to design the next stage of activities. The cycle is carried out continuously until the researcher is satisfied, the problem is solved and until there is an increase in writing essays. Based on the results of this study there are mistakes made by students in writing simple essays. The aspects assessed are: (1) stringing stories according to the student experience, (2) writing the background (place and time), (3) the use of spelling and punctuation. And the most common errors are errors in writing spelling and punctuation. Keterampilan menulis ialah salah satu aspek keahlian berbahasa. Keterampilan menulis juga merupakan salah satu hal yang sangat berarti untuk diajarkan kepada siswa karena kemampuan menulis termasuk suatu kebutuhan yang harus dimiliki serta akan sangat bermanfaat pada aktivitas pendidikan khususnya pada pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan guna menganalisis mengenali proses peningkatan pendidikan keterampilan melalui metode pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Pada siswa. Tidak hanya itu guna mengenali hasil peningkatan pendidikan keterampilan menulis karangan melalui pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) pada siswa. Penelitian ini terdiri dari II siklus. Dalam tata cara riset ini, aktivitas aksi serta pengamatan digabung dalam satu waktu, yaitu pada saat dilaksanakan kegiatan sekaligus dilaksanakan pengamatan ataupun observasi. Peneliti melaksanakan pengamatan pergantian sikap siswa. Setelah itu hasil- hasil di refleksikan guna merancang kegiatan tahap selanjutnya. Siklus dilaksanakan secara terus menerus hingga peneliti puas, permasalahan terselesaikan serta hingga terdapat peningkatan dalam menulis karangan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini terdapat kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menulis karangan sederhana. Adapun aspek yang dinilai adalah: (1) merangkaikan cerita sesuai dengan pengalaman siswa, (2) menuliskan latar (tempat dan waktu), (3) penggunaan ejaan dan tanda baca. Dan kesalahan paling sering ditemukan yaitu kesalahan dalam menulis ejaan dan tanda baca.

Abstract

The most important life skill for a student is scientific literacy ability. Scientific literacy skills are not only about reading and understanding science skills, but also being able to apply the concepts of scientific literacy knowledge in real life. This study aims to obtain information related to students understanding of scientific literacy based on gender. The method used in this research is descriptive method with quantitative approach. The data collection technique in this study used a three-tier multiple choice diagnostic test. The sample selected in this study were fifth grade students at SDNJatirasa III.. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant difference between the understanding of male students and female students. The results of the three-tier multiple-choice diagnostic test can also provide information on understanding related to scientific literacy. Kecakapan hidup yang paling penting bagi seorang siswa adalah kemampuan literasi sains. Kemampuan literasi sains tidak hanya tentang kecakapan dalam membaca dan sekadar mengerti sains, namun juga kemampuan yang mampu menerapkan konsep pengetahuan literasi sains dalam kehidupan nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi terkait pemahaman literasi sains siswa berdasarkan gender. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan tes diagnostik three-tier multiple choice. Sampel yang dipilih pada penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas V di SDN Jatirasa III. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak ditemukan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan berdasarkan pemahaman siswa laki-laki dan siswa perempuan, dengan jumlah nilai rata-rata siswa laki-laki 78.73 dan siswa perempuan 79.24. Hasil tes diagnostik three-tier multiple choice juga mampu memberikan informasi pemahaman terkait literasi sains.

Abstract

This research is a research about Learning Management System (LMS) development. In this case, the media being developed is Moodle-based media that contains materials about energy transformation. This research is conducted to develop Moodle-based learning media, namely the one which contains material about energy transformation. This media is developed in research and development process, and implemented with ADDIE model. It can be done through 5 steps, such as Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The result will be Moodle-based energy transformation material for grade IV students. The result can be obtained through verification by both the media expert and material expert, also by testing the media to the students. Then, we can analyze all data obtained by implementing Likert scale with quantitative approach. After testing and verification process are all done, we can know that: (1) media expert: validity score 78,67%, (2) material expert: validity score 87,5% and (3) student testing score 86,61%. From the research's result we can infer that Moodle-based Learning Management System (LMS) containing energy transformation material is very suitable for elementary school students. It also can be used as supplementary media during natural science class. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian mengenai pengembangan media pembelajaran Learning Management System (LMS) yang berbasis moodle. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan media belajar berbasis moodle pada materi perubahan energi. Media pembelajaran ini dikembangkan dalam penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development dan diterapkan menggunakan model ADDIE dengan 5 langkah yaitu: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation dan Evaluation. Hasil produk akhir dari pengembangan ini yaitu media pembelajaran berbasis moodle materi perubahan energi untuk kelas IV. Hasil data penelitian diperoleh melalui proses validasi ahli media, ahli materi serta uji coba peserta didik. Data hasil penelitian di analisis dengan skala likert menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data penilaian hasil validasi dan uji coba siswa dengan perolehan sebagai berikut: (1) ahli media 78,67%, (2) ahli materi 87,5% dan (3) uji coba siswa 86,61%. Berdasarkan hasil perolehan data menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan media pembelajaran Learning Management System (LMS) berbasis moodle pada materi perubahan energi memenuhi kriteria sangat layak digunakan siswa sekolah dasar serta dapat digunakan sebagai penunjang pembelajaran IPA.

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of Knowledge and Natural Science in elementary schools as a foundation for developing students' character and skills. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method to explore teachers' experiences in teaching science, the challenges faced, and the strategies implemented to improve students' understanding. The results of the study indicate that an approach involving real-world experiences and technology can strengthen the understanding of scientific concepts. In addition, this article provides recommendations for teacher professional development to improve the quality of science education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Natural Sciences (IPA) are the knowledge of nature, including living things, dead objects, and processes that occur around it. Natural science is a branch of science that is very broad and includes physics, chemistry, biology, and the science of Earth and Space. This study aims to explore the importance of natural science (IPA) in basic education, focusing on developing scientific skills and understanding of natural phenomena. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. This approach aims to describe the phenomena that occur in science learning and analyze their effectiveness in increasing student understanding. The results showed that IPA learning has an important role in student daily lives. With an interdisciplinary approach that includes physics, chemistry, biology, and earth and space science, from the four IPA fields allow students to develop critical thinking skills and problem solving needed to face global challenges. Thus, natural science is very important in everyday life and also in understanding the relationship between humans and nature. Through a deep understanding of natural science, we can better appreciate the beauty of nature and play an active role in maintaining its sustainability for future generations.

Abstract

Evaporation is the process of phase change from liquid to gas that can occur at low temperatures, even at room temperature. “Many people mistakenly believe that water only evaporates at 100°C. In fact, evaporation happens at the liquid’s surface, where molecules with high kinetic energy leave the surface and turn into vapor, unlike boiling, which occurs throughout the liquid at a specific temperature. This article explores the factors affecting evaporation, such as temperature, surface area, humidity, and air movement. Everyday examples of evaporation include water evaporating from a bucket, clothes drying, and dew disappearing. To address misconceptions, the article suggests simple experiments, molecular visualization models, and discussions of evaporation phenomena.” A proper understanding of evaporation is expected to increase students' interest and build a strong foundation for further learning in physics and chemistry.

Abstract

Science Education (IPA) has a very important role in the development of science, technology, and in forming critical and analytical thinking patterns of students. Through science learning, students not only gain knowledge about scientific concepts, but are also trained to think critically, systematically, and creatively in dealing with various problems. One aspect that influences the success of science learning is cognitive psychology, which focuses on how individuals process, store, and remember information. Cognitive psychology plays an important role in designing effective learning strategies, which are tailored to the way students understand and manage information. In addition, the learning paradigm used in science education also greatly influences the success of learning. The two main paradigms that are widely considered in science learning are absolutism and constructivism. The absolutism paradigm argues that knowledge is absolute and must be accepted without change, while the constructivism paradigm assumes that knowledge is built through experience and active interaction with the environment. This article aims to explore how the tradition of cognitive psychology influences science learning and examines the differences in the impact of the two paradigms in the context of science education in Indonesia. This discussion is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the importance of applying cognitive psychology and selecting the right learning paradigm in improving the quality of science education.
