Abstract

Ilmu mawarits, or Islamic inheritance law, holds significant importance in Muslim communities as it ensures the fair distribution of a deceased person's estate in accordance with the Qur'an and Hadith. Despite its importance, the study and application of ilmu mawarits are often neglected in modern times, leading to conflicts and misunderstandings within families. The Centre for Mawarith Studies (CMS) at Universitas Darussalam Gontor aims to address this issue by implementing innovative educational approaches to enhance the understanding and application of Islamic inheritance law. This research aims to explore the thoughts and movements of CMS in educating ilmu mawarits within pesantrens, providing insights into its innovative curriculum, teaching methods, and the overall impact on the community's understanding of Islamic inheritance law. A qualitative case study method was employed at the CMS of Universitas Darussalam Gontor. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis involving 30 participants, including CMS administrators, educators, and students. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data, ensuring validity through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that CMS has significantly influenced the approach to teaching ilmu mawarits by focusing on practical applications and interactive learning methods. This approach has successfully enhanced the understanding and skills of students, making Islamic inheritance law more accessible and applicable in daily life. The study recommends further development of innovative educational methods and the integration of practical applications in the teaching of ilmu mawarits. Additionally, expanding CMS programs to other Islamic educational institutions could further promote the understanding and application of Islamic inheritance law across broader communities.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to increase the organizational management capacity of the Hizbul Wathan Scout Scout Ngawi Regency through assistance in the preparation of organizational documents, strengthening the administrative system, planning work programs, improving management competencies, and developing an organizational evaluation system. The implementation method uses a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach combined with training, workshops, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), consultation, intensive mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. The results of the activity show that mentoring is able to increase management's understanding of organizational functions, improve the quarterly administration system, produce more systematic organizational planning documents, improve coordination between management, and strengthen organizational governance in a sustainable manner. In addition, this activity produces various outputs in the form of organizational administrative guidelines, annual work programs, monitoring and evaluation instruments, and increasing the competence of the management in carrying out organizational functions. This mentoring program has a positive impact on increasing the effectiveness of the Hizbul Wathan Scouting organization in Ngawi Regency so that it is expected to become a model for fostering scouting organizations that can be replicated in other regional quarters.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to improve parents' understanding and skills in implementing character-based parenting through a parenting education program at TPQ Al Hidayah Grasak Gondang in 2026. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach consisting of needs assessment, material preparation, parenting seminars, interactive discussions, family mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation. Participants included parents, Qur'anic teachers, TPQ administrators, and community leaders. The results indicate that the parenting program successfully enhanced parents' understanding of exemplary behavior, positive communication, religious habituation, discipline, and collaboration between families and TPQ in strengthening children's character. Furthermore, the program fostered stronger cooperation between parents and TPQ administrators in supporting children's moral development. Overall, the program contributed positively to establishing a sustainable character education culture both at home and within the TPQ environment

Abstract

This study aims to describe the efforts of the principal of MI Muhammadiyah Pandean in improving teachers’ work motivation. Teachers’ work motivation is an important factor in determining the quality of learning, discipline, professionalism, and the achievement of educational goals. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the principal’s efforts to improve teachers’ work motivation were carried out through five main strategies: giving rewards to outstanding teachers, providing motivational guidance through regular meetings, creating a conducive work environment, strengthening interpersonal communication, and applying a family-based approach in problem solving. These strategies positively contributed to improving teachers’ work spirit, discipline, loyalty, responsibility, and professionalism. The principal played a role as a motivator, mentor, communicator, and leader who was able to create a harmonious work culture oriented toward improving educational quality.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strengthening of students’ character education through collaboration between the school and parents at SDIT Al Jabar Gondang. The study focuses on the concept of character education, forms of school–parent collaboration, communication patterns, synchronization of habituation at school and at home, and the supporting and inhibiting factors. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, parents, and students as data sources. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification. The findings indicate that character education at SDIT Al Jabar Gondang is directed toward developing religious values, discipline, responsibility, independence, honesty, and social awareness. Collaboration is implemented through regular communication, parent meetings, parenting programs, liaison books, class communication groups, individual consultations, student development monitoring, and parental participation in school programs. The synchronization of habituation includes congregational prayer, Qur’an reading, time discipline, independent learning, cleanliness, politeness, and responsibility for assignments. Supporting factors include the school’s commitment, parental involvement, open communication, trust, and a shared educational vision. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include parents’ limited time, differences in parenting styles, communication constraints, limited parental participation, and inconsistent habituation at home. Planned, open, and continuous collaboration creates continuity in character education between school and family environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Islamic boarding school financial management in improving the performance of caretakers at Ulil Albab 2 Islamic Boarding School in Ngawi. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that financial management, including planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring, plays a significant role in improving caretaker performance. Transparency, accountability, and the allocation of welfare funds are the main factors influencing caretaker motivation and professionalism. Furthermore, Islamic values ​​such as trustworthiness and responsibility are the foundations of Islamic boarding school financial management. Thus, sound financial management can improve the quality of care and education at Islamic boarding schools.
