Abstract

This paper presents a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method to solve Optimal Power Flow (OPF) problem. The proposed PSO method is used to minimize power losses in transmission line with involves two stages optimization, namely the minimization of power generation and followed by the minimization of reactive power or Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch (ORPD) in the optimization process. Then, this approach is applied to the 500 kV Java-Bali electrical power system during peak loads. Simulation results on the 500 kV Java-Bali electrical power system showed that, the proposed method is able to reduce power losses in transmission lines and also production costs amounted to 23.37 MW or 17.85% and amounted to RP 631.61 million per hour or 9.63%, respectively, compared with PT. PLN (Persero) operational data.

Abstract

Abstract— This paper presents a method for determining the economic dispatch in accordance with the request of load requirements. The main purpose of the ED problem is to minimize the total cost of fuel at thermal plants in the electricity system. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) method is proposed to solve the problem of minimization of the fuel cost. This method was tested on the standard IEEE 26-bus test system to validate superiority of the proposed method compared with other methods before simulated on a real system, the Mahakam 150 kV electrical system.

Abstract

English proficiency has become an essential skill that significantly influences academic achievement, professional opportunities, and cross-cultural communication. This study investigates the implementation of the English Curriculum at the State Islamic College of Mandailing Natal, focusing on the challenges and opportunities inherent in the current pedagogical framework. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and classroom observations, involving two lecturers, and thirty students. The analysis revealed that traditional, lecture-based teaching methods, resource limitations of material, and fragmented curriculum delivery pose significant challenges to effective language instruction. Conversely, the study identified promising opportunities, such as the integration of interactive teaching strategies, enhanced use of digital tools, and ongoing professional development for educators, which could bridge the gap between theoretical content and practical application. The findings suggest that targeted curriculum reforms are essential to create a more engaging and effective learning environment, ultimately enhancing students’ English language proficiency and preparing them for academic and professional success.

Abstract

Employee performance is an important element that affects how effective and successful an organization is, especially in the government sector. This study emphasizes the significance of leadership in enhancing employee performance with organizational commitment as a factor influencing this relationship. Effective leadership may establish a clear goal, foster trust, and enhance staff morale. Respondents in this quantitative study were ASN in the Riau Islands Provincial Government, with data processing using Smart PLS. Filling out questionnaires sent via Google Form is the main method of primary data collection in this study. The results of the study indicate that Transformational Leadership and Servant Leadership have a positive and significant effect on Organizational Commitment, Organizational Commitment and Transformational Leadership have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, while Servant Leadership does not affect Employee Performance. The relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance, as well as between servant leadership and employee performance, is significantly mediated by organizational commitment.
