Abstract

The low level of information literacy among children in rural areas remains a significant challenge in achieving equitable educational development. In Teratak Village, although the village library has initiated several literacy activities, its function as an inclusive and sustainable information learning space has not yet been fully optimized. This program aimed to enhance children’s information literacy through the implementation of the Pojok Baca Perpusnas program in Teratak Village. The program was conducted using a participatory approach integrated into the Community Service Program (KKN), actively involving children, library managers, and community members. Activities included the establishment of a child-friendly reading corner, guided reading and discussion sessions, literacy visits to local schools, and mentoring to strengthen children’s abilities to access and understand information. Focus Group Discussions and continuous assistance were carried out to evaluate program implementation and ensure sustainability. The results indicate increased reading interest and active participation among children in literacy activities. The program also strengthened children’s basic skills in accessing, understanding, and communicating information obtained from reading materials. Overall, the Pojok Baca Perpusnas program contributed to reinforcing the role of the village library as a community learning center and fostering a sustainable literacy culture in Teratak Village.

Abstract

Arabica coffee (Coffea arabica L.) is an important plantation commodity cultivated in the Sembalun Highlands, Lombok. However, leaf miner infestations can reduce plant productivity by damaging leaf tissues and disrupting photosynthesis. This study aimed to identify leaf miner pests and associated parasitoids on several Arabica coffee varieties and to evaluate infestation intensity. The research used a quantitative desriptive approach with field survey methods. Sampling was conducted using systematic random sampling on five Arabica coffee varieties: Yellow Caturra, Red Caturra, Typica, Kobra, and Lini-S. Leaves showing leaf miner symptoms were collected weekly, reared in the laboratory, and identified morphologically. Infestation intensity was calculated using the Natawigena method and analyzed decriptively. The result showed that the leaf miner belonged to the order Lepidoptera, family Gracillariidae, genus Phyllocnistis, while the parasitoid belonged to the family Eurytomidae. The average infestation intensity was catagorized as moderate, with the highest infestation on Yellow Caturra dan the lowest on Lini-S. The presence of parasitoids indicates their potential role as biological control agents in sustainable Arabica coffee pest management.

Abstract

Urban agroecosystem management faces pressures from urbanization, environmental degradation, and weak integration policies, resulting in a decline in the quality of ecosystem services. Sectoral approaches have not been able to systematically integrate ecological and social dimensions. This study aims to formulate a conceptual model for urban agroecosystem management based on the Socio-Ecological Systems (SES) framework as an integrative approach to sustainability. The method used is a systematic literature review of international publications in the last five years related to ecosystem services, green infrastructure, peri-urban agroecology, and collaborative governance. A total of 100 scientific articles were obtained through the search process, and after going through the screening process, a total of 15 articles were obtained as the main material for the scientific literature process in this study. The analysis shows that vegetation and biodiversity are ecological ecosystems that produce regulatory, provisioning, and cultural ecosystem services. These benefits contribute to improving environmental quality and community well-being. Adaptive governance, community participation, and ecosystem-based integration policies significantly influence the ecosystem system, creating positive feedback mechanisms. The developed conceptual model emphasizes the interconnectedness of biophysical and social components in building resilient and sustainable urban agroecosystems. This study proposes a new conceptual model based on socio-ecological systems that integrates biophysical, social, and tourism dimensions in urban forest agroecosystems by placing tourism experience as the main mediating variable in shaping the desire feedback mechanism.

Abstract

Hypothenemus hampei merupakan salah satu hama utama yang menurunkan produktivitas dan kualitas kopi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui populasi dan intensitas serangan H. hampei pada tanaman kopi robusta (Coffea canephora) dengan sistem polikultur di Kabupaten Lombok Tengah. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Mei–Juni 2025 di kebun kopi rakyat Desa Pemepek, Kecamatan Pringgarata. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pengambilan sampel melalui pengamatan visual, perangkap feromon (brocap trap), dan perangkap kuning (yellow pan trap). Data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t serta analisis regresi untuk melihat hubungan antara populasi dan intensitas serangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata populasi hama melalui pengamatan langsung sebesar 6,2 ekor/tanaman di Lokasi 1 dan 7,68 ekor/tanaman di Lokasi 2. Sementara itu, dengan perangkap feromon dan yellow pan trap diperoleh 1,80 ekor/tanaman di Lokasi 1 dan 3,20 ekor/tanaman di Lokasi 2. Rata-rata intensitas serangan tercatat sebesar 0,04% di Lokasi 1 dan 0,03% di Lokasi 2. Analisis regresi menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara populasi dan intensitas serangan, meskipun dengan kekuatan korelasi yang lemah. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa sistem polikultur dapat menekan tingkat serangan H. hampei meskipun populasi hama masih ditemukan. Hasil ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar dalam strategi pengendalian hama berkelanjutan pada budidaya kopi robusta di Lombok Tengah.

Abstract

Sustainable forest development faces challenges related to ecosystem degradation and the socio-economic pressures experienced by communities living around forest areas, thereby requiring an integrative management approach. Agroforestry represents a land-use system that combines trees with agricultural components and has the potential to support the balance of ecological, economic, and social functions. This article aims to analyze the role of Agroforestry in restoring forest ecological functions, examine the social, economic, and cultural factors influencing its implementation, and formulate strategies for optimizing Agroforestry practices. The study was conducted using a literature review method with qualitative content analysis of relevant national and international scientific publications. The findings indicate that Agroforestry contributes to the restoration of forest ecological functions through improving soil quality, strengthening hydrological functions, and enhancing carbon sequestration, while simultaneously reinforcing community livelihoods through income diversification. The optimization of Agroforestry through supportive policies, community capacity building, and adaptive management is essential to strengthening long-term sustainable forest development.

Abstract

Degradasi lahan pertanian di Indonesia menjadi masalah serius yang berdampak langsung pada kemampuan suatu wilayah dalam produksi pangan dan ketahanan pangan nasional. Karena penurunan kualitas lahan mengakibatkan penurunan hasil panen, meningkatkan kerentanan terhadap kekurangan pangan, dan memperburuk kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat petani sehingga diperlukan strategi penangan yang tepat melalui praktik pengelolaan lahan yang berkelanjutan yang inovatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara teoritis dan empiris tentang degradasi lahan pertanian tanaman pangan dan inovasi strategi pengelolaan lahan berkelanjutan untuk mengurangi degradasi lahan pertanian pangan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan studi literatur dengan penggunaan data sekunder dari artikel ilmiah, jurnal terakreditasi, buku referensi, serta laporan resmi organisasi internasional dan Badan Pusat Statistik Indonesia. Strategi inovatif yang dikembangkan meliputi pertanian organik, pertanian terpadu (integrasi tanaman, ternak, ikan, unggas), pertanian vertikal, bioinformatika, konservasi tanah dan air, pemilihan varietas tanaman tepat, analisis kesehatan tanah, serta model pertanian konservasi untuk pemulihan lahan terdegradasi. Dukungan kebijakan yang kuat diperlukan untuk mendorong adopsi praktik ramah lingkungan, meningkatkan produktivitas dan kesehatan tanah jangka panjang, serta mencegah degradasi lebih lanjut. Upaya ini penting untuk menjaga keberlanjutan produksi pangan dan kesejahteraan petani di Indonesia.
