Abstract

The motorcycle frame is important to supported components of the motorcycle and to maintain stability when driving. One of the variables to determine the strength of the frame is to measure the stress when it is loaded. This study was to determine the stress experienced by the frame of the motorcycle when it is given a load of 1960 N and 2450 N in two different types of material, Galvanized Steel and Black Steel (AISI 1080). Research conducted with simulations using software Solidwork 2013. The simulation results indicate that the material Galvanized steel frame permanently deformed when given load 2450 N because the stress (221.6 MPa) is exceed the material's yield strength (203.9 MPa). While the frame of the material Black Steel (AISI 1080) when given a load of 2450 N stress received is 233.9 MPa, still lower than the value of the material's yield strength (375.8 MPa) but displacement that occurs is 21.1 mm.

Abstract

Printer 3D adalah sebuah printer yang menampilkan data dalam bentuk cetakan. Dengan teknologi dari 3D printing, sebuah perusahaan dapat membuat sebuah prototype tanpa harus menghabiskan bahan baku ataupun material. Dalam penelitian ini dikaji tentang pengaruh parameter temperature nozzle dan base plate pada material ABS terhadap hasil kekasaran permukaan serta density yang paling baik. Pada proses penelitian ini menggunakan bahan Acrylonytrile Butadine Stryne yang dibentuk menjadi specimen dengan dimensi panjang 3cm, lebar 3cm dan tinggi 1cm. Penyetingan parameter temperatur nozzle yang digunakan yaitu 240ºC, 250ºC and 260ºC (single nozzle dan dual nozzle), temperatur base plate 30ºC, dan 100ºC serta adhesive type dengan lem atau tanpa lem. Dari penelitian ini akan didapat data pengaruh temperatur nozzle, temperatur base plate, pengaruh lem dan nilai density yang paling baik. Dari penelitian ini temperatur terbaik untuk mencetak material specimen dengan kekasaran permukaan yang paling rendah diperoleh sebesar 6,15 µm yang setara dengan N9 dengan parameter temperatur nozzle 260ºC dan base plate 100ºC menggunakan bahan perekat (glue) dengan metode single nozzle . Adapun parameter yang digunakan untuk memperoleh density yang paling mendekati nilai spesifikasi density material ABS yaitu pada temperatur nozzle 240ºC sedangkan base plate 100ºC dengan menggunakan bahan perekat (glue). Pada setting semua temperatur nozzle baik single nozzle ataupun dual nozzle dengan temperatur base plate 30ºC tanpa menggunakan lem semua hasilnya adalah reject.

Abstract

Budget instability and increasing competition in the industrial world require companies to further improve the efficiency of their operations. A large level of downtime every month is very often found. Because the more downtime that occurs, the more detrimental to the productivity of a company. Disturbances that occur during the production process or routine activities that occur due to damage to machinery or other work facilities, must be prevented as early as possible. What is more important is that future disruptions do not occur again. Enhance the role of technicians and instructors as the maintenance team that first discusses the problem of engine failure that is used for practice to create integrated productive maintenance systems. Scheduled and planned maintenance can prevent damage to equipment and other work facilities. This research can eliminate simple examples of unnecessary damage. Approved preventive maintenance will produce an inventory of all components used that are delivered with scheduled maintenance. To carry out maintenance required work that is planned to be done in accordance with what will be done. The machine subject that is translated is the Printing Machine, where the machine's focus component to be allocated is a Dying Matter / Print Matter. From data processing and discussion, the most important parts are Cavity, Ejector Pin, Thermocouple, and Screw. The damage category found the recommended component replacement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the direction of development in the world of Mold & Dies design in the world. Data searches were carried out through science direct databases using the design of molds and dies as keywords with a limitation of open access journals between 2015 - 2020. The results were comprehensively analyzed based on year, publisher's name, institution, and the country as well as research subjects. Files from Mendeley software are saved in Reference Manager Format (.RIS) format which is processed into VOSviewer software to find out the bibliometric map. The results revealed that the highest number of publications is in a procedia manufacturing journal. The most contributing country in the European continent indexed in Scopus is Germany. Within the output in the form of network visualization, it is found that several novelty potentials are in line with the direction of the development of the study with the parameters of the number of population and the year of the research output. Publications on the most similarity and chance of novelty on research topics are in Cluster 1, which consists of Energy Efficiency, Decision Process, Plastic Materials, and Sustainability.Keywords: Novelty, Injection Mold Design, Bibliometric Maping, VOSviewer

Abstract

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) are usually used to draw sketches and model manufacturing work processes on machines that operate using computer numerical control (CNC). To communicate with each other CAD and CAM must have the same format, the drawings produced by CAD must the same format to be run on the CAM. In this study, product images will be created using Autocad software and it will run on the Fikus VisualCAM 19 software to visualize the tool pathway. The program is created to run a CNC machine and the resulting product will check the conformity of its dimensions and geometry. The results obtained are that the images generated from the AutoCAD software can run well on the Fikus VisualCAM 19 software. The program in the form of NC code generated by AutoCAD and Fikus VisualCAM19 software can be run properly by a CNC wire-cutting EDM machine, this can be seen from the product results that match the dimensions and geometry.

Abstract

Perkembangan dunia manufacturing saat ini begitu pesat dan semakin bertambah sekaligus memiliki peranan penting di dalam dunia industri. Perusahaan-perusahaan industri yang bergerak dalam dunia manufaktur semakin bertambah, salah satunya perusahaan manufacturing yang bergerak di bidang carbon steel pipe fitting, yang memproduksi elbow, reducer, tee, dan cap. Produk pipe fitting tersebut digunakan untuk menyambung antara pipa satu dengan pipa yang lain sesuai dengan kebutuhan yang digunakan. Keakuratan hasil proses machining harus disesuaikan dengan spesifikasi yang sudah ditentukan ASME B16.9-2012. Dikarenakan setiap item concentric reducer 4x2 STD memiliki dimensi yang berbeda beda dari setiap pcs. Maka dari itu dimensi pada material harus diukur sebelum melakukan proses machining. Alat yang digunakan untuk proses pengukan yaitu digital vernier caliper dengan kecermatan 1/128 inchi, mistar dengan kecermatan 1/32 inchi, dan bevel protactor. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan cara mengecek dan mengukur raw material dan finish material pada dimensi concentric reducer 4x2 STD. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini adalah hasil ukuran concentric reducer 4x2 STD sesuai dengan standar yang sudah ditentukan ASME B16.9-2012.

Abstract

Every phase of work activities in a workplace is inevitably associated with potential hazards and risks that can lead to both workplace accidents and occupational illnesses. To mitigate these hazards effectively, the identification and assessment of risks are imperative, providing a foundation for offering constructive recommendations to the respective companies. The process of hazard identification and risk assessment adheres to the risk management stages, aligned with the AS/NZS 4360:2004 standard on Risk Management, encompassing the determination of consequences (severity) and probability levels (likelihood) to ascertain the risk levels within each work process phase. Upon establishing these risk levels, comprehensive recommendations for control programs can be devised, aimed at averting workplace accidents and occupational diseases. Data acquisition is carried out through surveys/observations involving workers and document reviews. The observations were conducted within the production area, specifically focusing on the semi-automatic crimping machine inspection process at PT. SWS in December 2022. The research findings reveal that within the crimping machine inspection process, the risk percentages are distributed as follows: 0% at the extreme risk level, 65% at the high risk level, 35% at the moderate risk level, and 0% at the low risk level. Effective control and supervision measures are essential to prevent the occurrence of workplace accidents and occupational illnesses. These measures offer significant benefits, encompassing enhanced work productivity, improved work morale, and a fortified corporate reputation. The researcher proposes a range of control measures, spanning substitution, engineering, administrative adjustments, and personal protective equipment provisioning.

Abstract

Untuk mengurangi biaya produksi, peningkatan proses manufaktur suatu produk sangatlah berpengaruh terutama dengan meningkatkan kualitas dari produk. Dalam penelitian ini kualitas produk dihasilkan dengan kecepatan produksi dan mesin yang berkualitas. Jig dan Fixture merupakan alat atau perkakas bantu yang berfungsi untuk memegang dan mengarahkan benda kerja sehingga proses manufaktur suatu produksi lebih efesien dan akurat. Jig di defenisikan sebagai peralatan khusus yang memegang atau menyangga komponen yang akan dipasang pada mesin. Fixture adalah peralatan produksi yang menyangga benda kerja secara kuat sehingga proses pemesinan dapat dilakukan. Pada umumnya Jig dan Fixture adalah satu kesatuan dimana sebagai alat pemegang benda kerja produksi. Alat ini dirancang sebagai alat bantu produksi berfungsi untuk menempatkan dan memegang benda kerja dan juga menyatukan dua komponen produk menjadi satu dengan menggunakan mekanisme pengepresan yang memakai sistem pneumatik dimana dengan pengumpulan data dari customer dan internal perusahaan sehingga menghasilkan perancangan mesin Pressing Jig Diseji P702 dengan detail dan sesuai dengan tahapan pembuatan mesin.

Abstract

This research contains about destructive test for WPS qualification (welding qualification record) in making pressure vessel. WPS can be declared qualified if they have PQR (procedure qualification record). In making PQR required testing destructive test the test is carried out by damaging the specimen based on ASME standards (american society of mechanical engineers) BPVC (boiler pressure vessel code) Sec. IX-2021 with SA516 70N material. Indestructive test for this welding qualification, there are 4 types of testing with the number of specimens to be tested, namely: testing tensile (2 specimens), testing bend (4 specimens), testing charpy iMPact (2 sets or 6 pcs specimen), and testing hardness vickers (1 specimen). Number of specimens tensile and bend specified in ASME BPVC Sec. IX-2021 on QW-451.1 and for the number of test specimens charpy iMPact has been specified in ASME BPVC Sec. VIII. 1-2021 on UG-84 as well as for total specimen hardness vickers specified in NACE MR0175/ISO 15156-2:2023E table A.1. Results of testing tensile obtained a figure of 542 MPa (N/mm2) with a minimum requirement of 485 MPa (N/mm2), testing bend no open discontinuities found, for test results charpy iMPact the smallest is 47 joules with a minimum requirement of 20 joules for single hairy. And for testing hardness vickers highest value 217 HV on section weld cap with requirements weld root is 250 HV while the highest value is on the part weld cap is 275 HV. The results of this test indicate that the welding procedure complies with the requirements and conditions set out in ASME BPVC Sec. IX-2021 in testing destructive test.
