Abstract

Research on the Growth Response of Arabica Coffee Seeds (Coffea arabica) of the Catuwai Variety to the Giving of ZPT Bean Sprouts Extract, was carried out in February - June 2020 at the Arabica coffee plantation of PT. Sulotco Jaya Abadi, Lembang Tiroan, Bittuang District, Tana Toraja Regency at an altitude of 1400 m asl with climate type A (Scmidt and Ferguson), the study aims to determine the appropriate concentration for the growth of Arabica coffee seedlings of the Catuwai Variety. The study was arranged using a Completely Randomized Design ( RAL) with a single factor treatment consisting of 5 treatment levels in the form of concentrations E¬0: no treatment, E1: 10 ml/l water, E2:20 ml/l water, E3: 30 ml/l water and E4: 40 ml/ l water. Each treatment was repeated 3 times, and in each treatment plot there were 8 plant seeds (6 sample plants and 2 destructive plants) so that there were 120 plants. The results showed that the best treatment was at a concentration of 30 ml/l water, especially for the components of plant height, number of leaves, and stem diameter and concentration of 20 ml/l water for root volume.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai Juni 2019 di PT. Sulotco Jaya Abadi yang terletak di Bolokan, Lembang Tiroan, Kecamatan Bittuang, Kabupaten Tana Toraja, ketinggian tempat penelitian 1.400 mdpl dengan tipe iklim B (Schmidt dan Fergusson). Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama fermentasi dan kadar air biji terhadap cita rasa kopi arabika (Coffea arabica) varietas Katuwai. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam bentuk percobaan dengan 2 faktor perlakuan yang disusun menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 12 perlakuan yang diulang 3 kali. Faktor pertama berupa lama fermentasi yang terdiri atas: tanpa fermentasi; fermentasi 24 jam; fermentasi 48 jam; dan fermentasi 60 jam. Faktor kedua berupa kadar air biji masing-masing: kadar air 10%; kadar air 14%; dan kadar air 18%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara fermentasi dan kadar air biji berpengaruh nyata terhadap skor after taste, uniformity, balance.

Abstract

The primary issues with this activity are the kids' lack of imagination and ignorance of Toraja wisdom from the Tangmentoe Christian Orphanage. The purpose of conducting this community service activity is to enhance the creativity of the orphanage children through training and mentoring in making Toraja Ale. The community service projects were conducted at the Tangmentoe Christian Orphanage in August through October 2023. Three components make up the activity's implementation techniques: mentorship in weaving skills, training, and counseling. Assessment exercises were also conducted to gauge the orphanage children's progress in terms of their knowledge, abilities, and inventiveness. The outcomes of the community service projects demonstrated a rise in understanding of Toraja folk wisdom. Following the post-test, the average score increased from 20 to 85. In addition, the orphanage children's skills increased from 5% to 80%, and their creativity increased from 80% being non-creative to 10% being highly creative, 60% being creative, 20% being somewhat creative, and 10% not creative.
