Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain about automation as which is one step to reduce costs due to rising wages of employees every year. The other purpose of machine automation is to improve product quality. This project was carried out at PT. XYZ which produces automotive parts, one of which is a regulator product that functions as a voltage stabilizer on the car charge dynamo. This automation uses 2 methods, namely the method of dividing the operator's total work and machine improvisation. The machine that is automated in the Regulator product is an IC Silicone Potting Regulator machine. This machine functions as a filler for silicone material and also a vacuum process. In the process of filling silicone material initially using operator assistance. The target of this automation is to replace the role of the operator to fill the silicone material and be replaced by the machine. As a component of the automation of this machine, the author uses the IAI ROBO Slider. Where IAI ROBO Slider is able to move in certain positions as desired. This automation study also confirms or checks product quality so that product quality is maintained before and after the engine automation project. The results of this automation are able to reduce 1 operator in the regulator product, so as to reduce the operator's overall working hours each month. This automation project was obtained by Break Event Point (BEP) for 2.35 months. Keywords: Automation, machine IC Silicone Potting Regulator, operator, silicone material, IAI ROBO Slider, Break Event Point.

Abstract

One of the key issues in designing a network topology is vulnerability. The vulnerability parameter measures the resistance of a network to disruption of operation  after  the  failure  of  certain  stations  or  communication  links.  One counter-measure  to address  the vulnerability of a network is edge connectivity. In this paper, a  more selective concept of edge  connectivity is introduced, called component  order  edge  connectivity  for  MAN  topology  design.  This  parameter equals the smallest number of edges that must be removed in order to ensure that the  order  of  each  component  of  the  resulting  sub -network  or  sub-graph  is  less than k.

Abstract

If a communication network N with n stations has every station linked with  at  least [n/2] other  stations,  then the  edge-connectivity  of  N  equals  its minimum  degree.  Also, in  general,  this  limitation  is  stated  to  be  the  best possibility,  as  was  proved  by  Chartrand  in  1966.  A  more developed  notion  of edge-connectivity  is  introduced, which  is  called  k-component  order  edge connectivity. It  is the minimum number of edges required to be removed so that the order of each disconnected component is less than k.

Abstract

Sound is exotic thing that ready to be researched and explored. Although many researches were done on this theme, there are still many things that can be obtained when researching about sound. For example, levitate things with ultrasonic frequency. It is amazing that sound, which is like a vibe, can levitate things. From that idea, the writer fascinated to construct the water levitation circuit. In this project, with Arduino and a strobe light, the writer creates a design that makes it possible to see the water levitation phenomenon with using audible frequency. The device provides an optical illusion, so the blink of LED that hit droplets from tube, pumped by water pump, looks like levitate with human eyes.  This method can show the variations of water levitation phenomena with correct time setting of the blinking LED and frequency setting of the speaker. The synchronization frequency of LED and speaker will make the water stay. But, frequency of the LED higher than the speaker, then it will make droplets ascend and vice versa, if frequency of LED lower than the speaker, it will make droplets descend as normally it does. Keywords: strobe light, sound, droplets, levitation, optical illusion, LED.

Abstract

One of the functions of a digital clock is to wake us from sleep, in order to perform the activities as scheduled. Technological developments allow the incorporation of digital clock function with voice recognition, making it easier for us to do as to turn off the alarm without having to press a button, asking what time without having to view the display, and so forth. From these points of view, the idea to design and to implement a “Digital Clock with Speech Recognition” came up. This experiment concentrates in designing the hardware and the software that will work as an integration system of circuit that has the digital clock function. The circuit also has other function which is the speech recognition. Through this function, the user of the circuit will be able to record his or her voice in the form of short words. After the recording, the user can start to order the circuit to recognize his or hervoice. Finally, both digital clock and speech recognition functions are combined to work together, therefore when there is a voice recognized, then the speech recognition circuit will send a digital signal to the digital clock circuit to be processed as an input signal to operate certain digital clock function. Keywords: digital clock, speech recognition, microcontroller ATmega8535

Abstract

PT Dharma Electrindo Manufacturing is one of the compant in automotive manufacture. This company has two plants which are in Cikarang and Cirebon, with Cirebon focusing on the manufacturing side. PT Dharma Electrindo Manufacturing Cirebon branch has three floors for production. Thus it is necessary to have a freight elevator to ease production process on second and third floor with support from AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicle) with the market price of Rp 200.000.000 without humans directly controlling it. Several accidents could happen due to unsynchronized elevator door and AGV. In 2017, 15 accidents occurred on the elevator door on the second floor. Because of this, an early detection system has been implemented in the form of a crossbar on the door such that the AGV does not hit the acrelyte-made door which could cause the AGV to fall and caused the company loss about Rp 200.000.000 or the broken elevator door all through 2017 which caused Rp 202.250.000 loss. It is hoped that this crossbar implementation is developed using stabilizer.

Abstract

This study is intended to conduct a scoping review of the application of social network analysis (SNA) in predicting political participation in Indonesia, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The literature shows that investigations into political participation are not new in Indonesia. However, research that uses the application of SNA as an approach to explain the behavior of political participation in Indonesia is still very rare. For this reason, a scoping review is needed to provide an overview of political participation using a social network lens. The scoping review implementation was guided by Arksey and O'Malley's 5-step framework. The results of the scoping review show that the political participation among Indonesians is considered at a sufficient level, especially at the regional level. However, investigations of political participation using the SNA method are shown to be very rare. This research is useful for showing topics that can be explored in the social and political fields, especially by using the individual social network approach.

Abstract

This paper proposes the implementation of IoT-based agriculture monitoring with audio growth (sonic bloom) to optimize the growth of plants and harvest. Sonic bloom is a technology that combines high-frequency sound waves from living things, nature or music, and organic nutrients, which aims to make plants grow more optimally so that they can increase productivity. The method’s main advantage is implementing an innovative IoT monitoring hybrid with audio growth systems to boost the plantation growth and maximize the yield. Our experiment in 10 planters using chilies, has proven the proposed procedure. This work is backed up with literature studies of the audio growth (sonic bloom) in IoT technologies. To validate our findings, four parameters were measured through different sensors such as light sensors, temperature, humidity, and soil moisture. It was found that the proposed method can achieve significant results against the comparison in terms of plant heights and new sprouts for the harvest.

Abstract

Improving productivity and performance is a continuous process in all manufacturing companies. Since a product fabrication process mostly consists of many production and work steps, there is always an opportunity for small improvement. If conducted consistently and continually, a series of small improvements can yield a considerable increase in overall productivity and performance. In this paper, the effort undertaken in an automotive spare part manufacturing company to reduce downtime due to the dandori process is presented. Dandori is the installation or setup required between the production of two different spare part types. The setup includes stocking in incomplete lots of product, or the cripple parts, of one type and stocking out the cripple parts of the other. The existing dandori process consisted of 12 steps and required 190.2 seconds. The development of a storage management system was proposed to reduce the downtime required to fill the production check sheets and to find the correct drawer in the storage room. The new dandori process consists of 19 steps and requires 140.4 seconds. The manual check sheet filling was replaced with QR code scanning and data input on a computer, while the manual finding of the correct drawer was assisted by the LED indicators. Production data for the duration 4 months before and 4 months after the improvement was analyzed. The availability rate of the process increases from 84.87% to 89.34%, and the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) increases from 73.11% to 78.37%. The obvious increases encourage further continuous improvement cycle in the company.
