Abstract

Dalam  proses injection  mold terdapat banyak  faktor yang  mempengaruhi  keberhasilannya.  Salahsatu  kasus  kegagalan  produk  hasil injection  mold adalah  adanya  ketidakseragaman  pengisian(imbalance filling)yang  menyebabkan  ketidakseragaman  produk  jadi  sehingga  berdampak  burukpada  proses  produksi  dan  kualitas  produk  yang  ingin  dicapai.  Tujuan  dari  penelitian  ini  adalahuntuk  mendapatkan  aliran  plastik  yang  seragam  pada runner sebelum  masuk  kedalam gate dancavity, dan mendapatkan kualitas produk hasil  injeksi plastik yang seragam (geometri, dan beratproduk). Metoda penelitian yang dilakukan antara lain: mempelajari gejala yang ditimbulkan darisifat  material  plastik  yang  diinjeksi  pada  sistem  saluran  cetakan  injeksi  plastik,  mensimulasikanaliran plastik leleh pada cetakan tanpa dan dengan Meltflipper[2], melakukan percobaan trial padacetakan yang telah diperbaiki dan sebelum diperbaiki, pengambilan data berat dan visual hasil trialdan menganalisis data yang didapatkan dengan cara membandingkan data. Dari hasil analisis datapenelitian  didapatkan  suatu  kesimpulan,  hasil trial ke-satu  (tanpa Meltflipper)  ditemukanketidakseimbangan aliran di runner, karena adanya perbedaan suhu pada cavity bagian dalam dancavity bagian  luar  cetakan  yang  menyebabkan  pengisian cavity tidak  seragam.  Sedangkan,  hasiltrial ke-dua (dengan Meltflipper) didapatkan aliran yang seimbang di runner dan pengisian produkyang seragam kesetiap cavity. Dari kesimpulan tersebut terbukti bahwa terjadi ketidak seimbanganaliran di runner pada cetakan injeksi tanpa Meltflipper, dan terjadi kondisi aliran yang seimbang dirunner pada cetakan injeksi dengan Meltflipper.

Abstract

Sebuah perusahaan produsen susu kemasan kaleng membutuhkan sebuah improvment pada proses produksinya yang menginginkan proses produksi menjadi otomatis. Salah satu prosesnya yaitu memindahkan kaleng menuju twister minimal 1200 pcs/jam untuk jenis 400 gram dan minimal 600 pcs/jam untuk jenis 600 dan 800 gram. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, maka perlu dibuat sebuah rancangan mesin palletizing untuk memindahkan tumpukan kaleng menuju twister secara otomatis. Mesin yang dirancang harus mampu menahan beban dari tumpukan kaleng pada saat proses memindahkan kaleng menuju twister. Proses perancangan menggunakan metodologi VDI 2206 dari mulai menetapkan requirement, system design, domain-spesific design, system integration, verification/validation, sampai dengan menghasilkan produk. Hasil proses perancangan telah menghasilkan sebuah rancangan yang mampu memindahkan kaleng menuju twister sebanyak 1500 pcs/jam untuk jenis kaleng 400 gram dan 810 pcs/jam untuk jenis kaleng 600 dan800 gram. Konstruksi mesin palletizing sangat aman, karena beberapa komponen telah dianalisis kekuatannya dan memiliki faktor keamanan minimal 3,8.

Abstract

Injection molding is a process by which plastic is heated until it softens to fill a closed mold and form a product. One of them is the benchtop injection molder, where the machine that was previously made at POLMAN had problems, namely the main frame structure and injection mechanism which was less sturdy during the injection process and the heating system which overheated. Based on these problems, a redesign and analysis was carried out on the existing benchtop injection molder machine. The design methodology used is VDI 2222, which is a technical concept design methodology suitable for product development. Heat Transfer Simulation on existing and latest designs using COMSOL Software with geometry, material, temperature, fluid inlet and outlet, and mesh parameters. The results obtained were uneven heat distribution to the middle of the existing barrel at a temperature of 4600K, while the new barrel had an even heat distribution to the middle at 4730K at the 10th second. The latest machine weighs 17.78 kg, dimensions 775 x 266 x 426 mm, barrel capacity 19 grams with an aluminum frame and tight band heater installation.

Abstract

POLMAN Bandung plaque is a thick product with a relief shape on the surface of the product. The product was originally made using sand casting technology, but now it needs to be developed using high-pressure die casting (HPDC) molding technology. This process was hampered by the absence of technical documentation, so development started from the available sand-casting products. This development was carried out in two stages, first product design, and second tool design. Based on the results of the research carried out, an optimal HPDC design has been produced according to the desired specifications. Product designs are obtained through 3D scanning technology to obtain appropriate geometric data. Then the data generated for mold design and the HPDC process includes a specific casting pressure of 400 bar; casting locking force of 1311 kN; piston diameter of 40 mm; 31.6% fill rate; piston movement (V(x)): first phase 0.497 ms-1 to 307 mm, second phase 2.08 ms-1 to 390 mm. The analysis process in the shot-sleeve simulation has produced the right data for the production process so that machine control is more precise, effective, and efficient.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with a high level of natural disaster vulnerability, so a good disaster mitigation process is needed. Amphibious Articulated All Terrain Vehicle (AAATV) is designed as one of the solutions to the difficulty of the mitigation process. Amphibious Articulated All Terrain Vehicle is a vehicle with special capabilities that are able to pass through various terrains. Amphibious Articulated All Terrain Vehicle consists of several systems, one of which is the propulsion system. In the Amphibious Articulated All Terrain Vehicle drive system, there is one sub-system, namely the transmission gearbox. This design process uses the VDI 2222 methodology. The design and validation process uses SOLIDWORKS and KISSsoft software. From the design results, it is found that the vehicle will use a Kubota V2203 type diesel engine with a power of 36.4 kW. The desired speed variation is achieved with values of 9.85 km/h, 19.34 km/h, 39.64 km/h, and 10.04 km/h. The design weight is 58.73 kg with dimensions of 346.1 mm x 260 x 347 mm

Abstract

This community service aims to determine the effect of noise levels on the growth, development, and behavior of Alabio ducks, for a population of 400 (16 males and 384 females). The noise level of the diesel engine was 94.3 dB, and at a distance of about 5 meters from the sound source, the behavioral ducks were changed such as running from the farm area, decreased eating patterns, stunted growth, and reduced egg production. After replacing the diesel engine with a motor engine that did not produce noise (0 dB), there was a significant change in the condition of the ducks. Noise level testing used the Sound Meter Level application with a measuring distance of 1-12 meters from the alabio duck cage. The rice pounding machine and rice smoother with driving power have been modified with a diesel motor turned on simultaneously. The sound produced was measured every 1 meter for 30 seconds. The noise level produced was an average of 70.5 dB. The noise level produced has been significantly reduced, so with this condition, the behavior of the ducks began to change. The ducks no longer leave the farm area (pens and ponds), and the eating pattern increased significantly due to the loss of stress factors due to noise, which has a positive impact on growth acceleration. This program is expected to increase the productivity of eggs produced by ducks. This service shows that reducing noise levels has a positive effect on the welfare, growth, and productivity of Alabio ducks.
