Abstract

This article examines the characteristics of the manuscript exegesis of Surah al-Baqarah by Abdul Latif Syakur. This study reinforces Islah Gusmian's analysis that tafsirs born from the 20th century to the 1990s object of study revolved around selected surahs or certain juz. This interpretive manuscript needs to reveal its characteristics to strengthen the analysis regarding the systematic presentation, sources, methods, styles, and advantages and disadvantages to demonstrate the information in the manuscript. This research is a literature study of the manuscript tafsir of QS. al-Baqarah and is descriptive analysis. This research shows that the systematic presentation of this interpretation is consistent with the order of the verses in the letter being interpreted, even though all of al-Baqarah's letters have not been completely interpreted. The method used is the global method (ijmāli). The reference sources used are the hadiths of the Prophet Saw, the sayings of ṣaḥabat, qirā'at al-Qur'ān, and sababun nuzul. The dominant style is the lughāwī style, where descriptions of mufradāt and reviews of aspects of nahwu and ṣarf color this interpretation. This interpretation is not free from advantages and disadvantages. Theoretically, the advantage of this interpretation is that it makes it easier for readers to understand the meanings of the verses of the Qur'an. Still, behind this convenience, no more detailed analysis of the interpreted verses is a drawback. Manuscript of QS. al-Baqarah interpretation fills the gap in references, adds to the collection of manuscripts in the field of interpretation, and makes new contributions to the development of Qur'anic studies in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the role of faith-based organizations (FBOs) as a social infrastructure that supports the resilience of Indonesian migrant families in Indonesia and Taiwan. Data were collected qualitatively from 15 migrant workers, 15 left-behind children, 15 caregivers, 4 FBOs in Indonesia, and 5 FBOs in Taiwan. Data were collected in 2024 and 2025 using semi-structured, in-depth interviews. This study used an interpretivist paradigm to examine how FBOs strengthen the resilience of Indonesian migrant families. The participants were selected with purposive and snowball sampling. The findings show that at the micro level, faith provides emotional endurance and moral guidance for migrant workers but not for their children and caregivers; at the meso level, FBOs such as Dompet Dhuafa, Mandiri Amal Insani, Rumah Edukasi Kenanga, Majelis Taklim Parenting Nabawiyah, and Salimah Taiwan institutionalize care through religious education, parenting training, and psychosocial support. At the macro level, transnational faith networks supplement formal policy frameworks by providing moral and psychosocial protection. The study broadens the concept of social infrastructure to include religious and moral systems as key components of family resilience. It also integrates resilience theory with faith and migration studies and provides empirical evidence that FBOs can help develop more inclusive, culturally grounded transnational social policies.

Abstract

Manual and semi-mechanical baglog production for oyster mushrooms in Indonesia, particularly in Padang West Sumatra, has suffered from low capacity, inconsistent quality, and operator fatigue. In this study evaluated performance improvements of a baglog pressing machine through modification of magnetic clutch integration and cylinder pressure control mechanism. The modification included installing a magnet clutch with supporting components (bushing, plate disk, clutch housing), motor and gearbox shafts, redesign of the pressing plate, and dual-opening chamber. Several technique was employed such as reducer speeds (30 to 90 rpm) and threaded rod adjustments distance (1.5 to 6.5 cm). Production capacity, cycle time, efficiency, and baglog density were investigated. Based on results, the  production capacity increased from approximately ±20 baglogs/hour (manually)to 120–270 baglogs/hour after modification, while the pressing cycle time decreased to as low as 13.33 s/baglog. The baglog density increased from about ±0.65 g/cm³ to ~0.709–0.900 g/cm³, with 80–90% process efficiency. Therefore, the magnetic clutch enabled precise engagement/disengagement control, enhancing safety and cycle precision. Overall, the modified machine provided an efficient for improving productivity, quality, and ergonomics for for SME’s sector mushroom production.
