Abstract

Dalam bernegara nasionalisme merupakan ruh bagi setiap warga negara. Sikap-sikap cinta tanah air, bela negara dan persatuan menjadi hal tidak terpisahakan guna memperkuat ketahanan bangsa. Syaikh Abdul Latief Syakur sebagai tokoh lokal yang hidup zaman penjajahan, ingin membebaskan pengaruh ketertundukan masyarakat kepada penjajah melalui karya tafsirnya, yakni Tafs?r Y? Ayyuha Al-La??na ?man?. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan teks dan kontekstual. Spirit-spirit nasionalisme yang muncul dari kajian ini pertama adalah nilai-nilai perjuangan dan kemajuan bangsa dan tanah air, kedua, prinsip bela negara, ketiga mengedepankan nilai-nilai persatuan, dan keempat adalah nilai-nilai etika. Keempat spirit ini masih sangat relevan saat ini ditengah memudarnya usaha perjuangan dan kemajuan bangsa dan tanah air, prinsip bela Negara, nilai-nilai persatuan, dan prinsip etika dalam hidup bermasyarakat.  Nilai-nilai subtantif nasionalisme Syaikh Abdul Latief Syakur dalam tafsirnya menjadi nilai pembeda paza zamannya yang dapat diaplikasikan pada konteks kekinian. nasionalisme, Tafs?r Y? Abstract

This article examines the manuscript Kamus Mu’jam al-Qur’an, a collection of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. The manuscript is not merely a source of religious texts, but it also embodies certain characteristics that reflects the history, traditions and values encapsulated within it. This study aims to describe the charac­teristics of the manuscript using philology as the primary method, with codicology and textology as the two main approaches. The codicological aspects of this manuscript indicates that Kamus Mu’jam Al-Qur’an en­com­­passes vocabulary found in the Qur’an. It is written in Arabic and consists of a single piece with 37 pages. The manuscript, threaded and non-uniform in paper and text size (21 x 17 cm), employs khat naskhi with black ink as the primary color, while certain marks utilize green and red ink. Additionaly, textual aspects of it describes Kamus Mu’jam al-Qur’an including several scholia, such as corrections for written errors, vocabu­lary, letter descriptions, reading marks, wakaf signs and lists of invalid texts. The major finding of this study is the eight keywords: al-Asrār, dīnu yusr, ihsān, abrār, sulḥ, ‘ilm, ‘adamu taqlīd, and al-‘amal that were not typical to other dictionaries. This study contributes significantly by providing fresh insights into the importance of the Kamus Mu’jam al-Qur’an as a source of knowledge and understanding how this manuscript has been preserved over time. It also sheds light on the evolution of Quranic studies in Indonesia.

Abstract

In the state of nationalism is the spirit for every citizen. The attitudes of loving the motherland, defending the country and unity are inseparable in order to strengthen the resilience of the nation. Shaykh Abdul Latief Syakur as a local figure who lived during the colonial era, wanted to free the influence of community submission to the invaders through his interpretive work, namely Tafsīr Yā Ayyuha Al-Lażīna Āmanū. This study uses a textual and contextual approach. The nationalism spirits that emerged from this study were first the values of the struggle and progress of the nation and homeland, secondly, the principle of national defense, thirdly promoting the values of unity, and fourthly the ethical values. These four spirits are still very relevant today amid the waning efforts of the struggle and progress of the nation and the motherland, the principles of the defense of the State, the values of unity, and ethical principles in social life. The substantive values of Shaykh Abdul Latief Syakur's nationalism in his interpretation are the distinguishing values of his era's paza which can be applied to the present context

Abstract

This paper attempts to explore the Indonesian-Indonesian interpretation literature contained in the Tafsir al-Azhar by Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah (Hamka). This research was conducted to detect the existence, intensity, and involvement of the Nusantara-Indonesian interpretations as a reference for the writing of Tafsir al-Azhar. After conducting a search, it was found that the literature on the interpretation of the Archipelago-Indonesian in Tafsir al-Azhar was very varied. The author classifies them into four categories. First, the exegetical literature written explicitly in the commentary text and listed in the bibliography of Tafsir al-Azhar, consists of 4 works of commentary. Second, the exegetical literature written explicitly in the commentary text, but not listed in the bibliography, consists of one work of commentary. Third, literature that is not written explicitly in the text of commentary, but is listed in the bibliography, this category consists of three works of interpretation. Fourth, exegetical literature that is not written explicitly in the text of commentary or in the bibliography or is referred to as "ignored interpretation" literature. Even though it is very possible to be used as a reference for writing Tafsir al-Azhar, which falls into this category consists of three works of interpretation.

Abstract

This research examines the characteristics of Tafsir al-Khatīb al-Makkī; Tafsir Juz Tabārak by Sayyid 'Abd al-Hamīd ibn Ahmad al-Khatīb. The writing of the title of this commentary is attributed to the name of his father, namely Shaykh Ahmad Khatib al-Minangkabawi, even though it was his son who wrote it. He was a scholar of Indonesian descent who was born, had a career and died in Arabia. Traces of his work and intellect, which are still little explored, are a contribution to completing the treasures of works by Indonesian ulama. Using library research and descriptive analysis, this article examines and analyzes the background to the preparation of the interpretation, methodology, and the advantages and disadvantages of the interpretation. The results of this research found that the preparation of this interpretation was motivated by the attitude of people who had ignored the benefits of the Al-Qur'an to the point that they had become backward among other nations. The interpretations that emerged did not accommodate the fast-paced conditions of the times. The ulama did not try to spread the message of Islam through the Qur’an in language that was simple and easy for everyone to understand. The preaching scholars are only concerned with fiqh issues. After long reflection on the religious spirit of Islam and the Muslim community, he wrote a comprehensive commentary entitled Tafsīr Al-Khatīb al-Makki. From the aspect of Tafsir sources, this book is classified as a Tafsir bi al-ma'sūr. The method used is the tahlilī method and the style used is adabi ijtimā'i and the systematics of writing Tafsir Juz Tabārak is tartib mushafi.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas suntingan teks dan terjemah surat al-Mukminūn yang ditulis oleh Syaikh Abdul Latief Syakur. Surat al-Mukminūn terdiri dari 118 ayat menyajikan ajaran fundamental mengenai keimanan dan karakteristik orang-orang beriman. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode filologi melalui dua tahap, yakni tahap kritik teks dan edisi standar Kritik teks dilakukan untuk mengembalikan teks pada bentuk aslinya sementara edisi standar dilakukan dengan menerbitkan naskah denagn membetulkan kesalahan-kesalahan kecil dan ketidakajegan. Penelitian ini menggunakan penyuntingan teks dalam konteks perbaikan pada penyimpangan redaksional teks (adisi, omisi, emendasi, dan lakuna). Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suntingan teks naskah tafsir Surat al-Mukminūn karya Syaikh Abdul Latief Syakur menunjukkan bahwa isi teks terdiri dari (a) sistem penanggalan dalam penulisan tafsir, yang mencakup penamaan tempat, tanggal, bulan, dan tahun, (b) penulisan ayat dan terjemahan yang kemudian diberi penjelasan (interpretasi), (c) urutan tartib mushaf dalam penjelasan, dan (d) komentar dan penjelasan para ulama yang disesuaikan dengan konteks. Teks naskah ini berisikan tentang sifat-sifat orang mukmin yang beruntung, kisah-kisah yang telah dialami para Nabi terdahulu, juga di alami Nabi Muhammad, umat yang meyakini dan mengikuti ajaran Nabi dan Rasul mendapatkan kemenangan, sebaliknya orang yang mengingkari Allah dan para Nabi-Nya dimusnahkan Allah, dan gambaran kedahsyatan hari kiamat. Surat ini ditutup dengan penegasan bahwa orang-orang kafir tidak akan memperoleh kemenangan atas orang-orang mukmin.

Abstract

This study examines the intertextual approach of Syaikh Abdul Latief Syakur in his Tafsir Yā Ayyuha Al-Lażīna Āmanū, focusing on how he engages with classical Islamic sources and contextualizes them within his socio-historical milieu. The library research method includes codicological analysis of the manuscript to examine its physical attributes, while also analyzing the textual connections between Tafsir Yā Ayyuha Al-Lażīna Āmanū and its primary intertextual sources. Key findings highlight three main intertextual strategies in Syaikh Abdul Latief Syakur’s work: transformation, where classical interpretations are adapted to address ethical and linguistic nuances; expansion, where Qur’anic terms are recontextualized to reflect universal Islamic principles; and parallelism, which identifies recurring themes and structures across verses to illustrate the coherence of Qur’anic discourse. The study also explores the use of primary sources, including Anwār al-Tanzīl wa Asrār al-Takwīl by al-Baidlawi, Tanwīr al-Miqbās min Tafsīr Ibn ‘Abbās, and references to the Torah, illustrating how these works informed his interpretations. By integrating these sources with his unique scholarly perspective, Syaikh Abdul Latief Syakur provides a tafsir that bridges classical traditions and contemporary concerns.

Abstract

This article examines the diverse public receptions towards the tradition of reciting four selected surahs—Surah Yāsīn, Surah As-Sajdah, Surah Al-Wāqi'ah, and Surah Al-Mulk—during the burial ceremony in Kampung Tengah, Enok Village, Enok District, as a form of practicing the Qur'an in everyday life. Qur'anic studies encompass not only its meaning and interpretation but also the re-actualization of its guidance in societal practices, including traditions and customs. This study aims to describe the reception of the Kampung Tengah community regarding the practice of these four selected surahs in local funeral ceremonies. Using qualitative methods and a living Qur'an approach, this study focuses on describing community receptions of local traditions or social phenomena. The research identifies three key findings. First, the socio-anthropological aspect: this tradition represents a habitual practice among Kampung Tengah residents in conducting burials, including the recitation of these surahs as an expression of solidarity among Muslims. Second, the socio-historical aspect: the tradition originated as a local custom initiated by a Bugis scholar, H. Dullah bin H. Ismail, based on the teachings of Tuan Guru Abdurrahman Shiddiq Al-Banjari in the book Perukunan. Third, the spiritual aspect: the community believes that reciting these surahs brings various virtues (fadhilah) for both the deceased and the living. This article contributes to understanding the relevance of local traditions within Islamic teachings and offers an academic contribution to Qur'anic interpretation studies, particularly the living Qur'an field.

Abstract

The study of the Qur’anic nidā' is important to understand and master and distinguish the khitab to whom the call is addressed and what the meaning or essence of the call is conveyed. The purpose of this study is to explore and find the context of the call (nidā'), khitāb and mukhātab addressed in Tafsīr Yā Ayyuha Al-Lażīna Āmanū. This article theoretically and methodologically has an important role in the study of al-Qur'anic sciences and tafsir. This research is a library research with philological method with philosophical historical approach and analyzed with descriptive analysis model. The findings in this study indicate that there are three contexts addressed in the existence of nidā' verses. First, nidā' verses whose mukhātab clearly refer to individuals. Second, nidā' verses refer to a particular community either in general or in particular. Thirdly, nidā' verses whose mukhātab refers to a particular community either generally or specifically. Of all the nidā' in this tafsir, the khitab nidā' are categorized into five: nidā' related to the relationship between man and God; nidā' related to the relationship between the believing servant and the Prophet Muhammad; nidā' related to the relationship between people and their families; and nidā' related to the relationship between believers and disbelievers and disobedient people. Kajian nidā’ al-Qur’an penting dilakukan guna memahami dan menguasai serta membedakan khitab kepada siapa seruan itu ditujukan dan apa makna atau esensi seruan tersebut disampaikan. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini untuk menggali dan menemukan konteks seruan (nidā’), khitāb dan mukhātab yang dituju dalam Tafsīr Yā Ayyuha Al-Lażīna Āmanū. Artikel ini secara teoritis dan metodologis memiliki peran penting dalam studi ilmu-ilmu al-Qur’an dan tafsir. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan (Library Reseach) dengan motode filologi dengan pendekatan historis filosofis dan dianalisa dengan model deskriptif-analisis (descriptive analysis). Temuan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada tiga konteks yang dituju pada eksistensi ayat-ayat nidā’. Pertama, ayat-ayat nidā’ yang mukhātabnya jelas merujuk kepada individu. Kedua, ayat-ayat nidā’ mengacu pada komunitas tertentu baik secara umum atau khusus. Ketiga, ayat-ayat nidā' yang tujuan mukhātabnya masih menimbulkan penafsiran tentang siapa sebenarnya yang dimaksud. Dari keseluruhan nidā' dalam tafsir ini, khitab nidā’nya dikelompokkan menjadi lima, yakni nidā’ yang terkait hubungan antara manusia dan Tuhan; nidā’ yang terkait antara hamba yang beriman dengan Nabi Muhammad; nidā’ yang terkait dengan antara orang dengan keluarga mereka; dan nidā’ yang terkait antara orang beriman dengan orang kafir dan durhaka.
