Abstract

This study examines the dimensional structure of the brand loyalty construct in the hotel industry context. Following recent developments in loyalty studies, brand loyalty is proposed as a three-dimensional construct consisting of attitudinal loyalty, conative loyalty, and behavioural loyalty. In addition to directly affecting behavioural loyalty, attitudinal loyalty influences behavioural loyalty indirectly through conative loyalty. This conceptualisation is supported by the statistical analysis and provides an improved of the brand loyalty construct compared to the existing conceptualisations, such as fourstage, three-stage, and two-stage brand loyalty models. This study provides an important contribution in extending an understanding of the complex structure of brand loyalty, especially in a hotel industry context.

Abstract

This study reports an assessment of brand loyalty across the origin of the brand in the hotel industry. This study endeavours to extend recent advances in services marketing theory on brand loyalty to the international and domestic brand level of analysis. Brand loyalty is proposed to consist of three dimensions (attitudinal loyalty, conative loyalty and behavioural loyalty) with service quality, perceived value, customer satisfaction, and brand image as its determinants. The results, drawn from sample of four-star hotels, support the proposed brand loyalty model across international and domestic hotels. Service quality, perceived value, and customer satisfaction are important antecedents of brand loyalty though brand image has a strengthening role in these three loyalty determinants in both international and domestic hotels. Overall, the effects of these determinants on brand loyalty differ between international and domestic hotels.

Abstract

Relatively, maqasid al-Shariah is a missing dimension element in the available tawarruq personal financing, resulting in a convergence of this facility and its traditional counterpart. This work examines the consumer preference of tawarruq personal financing using the maqasid-based consumer preference index (MCPi). Drawing upon the MCPi, the present study examines consumer preference on the offered Tawarruq personal financing by 7 Islamic banks in Malaysia based on valid 456 usable questionnaires. The primary findings obtained indicate that all banks somewhat have a moderate MCPi. These include Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB), Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (BMMB), Maybank Islamic, CIMB Islamic, RHB Islamic, Kuwait Finance House and Al-Rajhi Bank. This study examines a new approach to measure consumer preference using the MCPi. Our contributions are confined to these particular variables – Educating Customer, Establishing Justice and Promoting Welfare. Our study also limits its perspective on the general context of tawarruq personal financing. Future works may provide different perspectives on these interrogations. This study provides a new index for Islamic banks to manage tawarruq personal financing products according to maqasid al-Shariah effectively. This study introduces a new measure of consumer preference of tawarruq personal financing namely the MCPi in the context of Malaysia.

Abstract

This study examined the cash waqf giving behaviour in Malaysia covering Selangor, Perak, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang. The theory of planned behaviour (TPB) was employed as a point of departure to observe the factors influencing the cash waqf behaviours involving 777. SPSS 27 was then utilised to assess and consider the data to test hypotheses and draw statistical conclusions. The TPB’s factors were instrumental in shaping the expansion of cash waqf giving in Malaysia. The added variable, Islamic altruism was also statistically influential and played an important role in determining the behaviour formation.  Besides, in the post hoc analyses, we discovered a mediating role of attitude for the tested and examined independent variables involved. The usefulness of the results obtained was confined to the theory used as well as the geographical areas chosen. The results obtained can be learned by Malaysian waqf institutions to further strengthen the waqf collections by optimising the significant variables found in this study. This study is the first to check the effects of the TPB's factors in the context of actual behaviour, which adds more knowledge to the existing waqf literature available in the world.

Abstract

The significance of ensuring Muslim tourist satisfaction in fostering loyalty motivates scholars to explore additional influencing factors. This study investigates how a sense of community impacts tourist satisfaction in halal destinations within Muslim-majority countries. By analyzing responses from 306 Muslim tourists from Indonesia and Malaysia using partial least squares (PLS), the findings reveal that specific dimensions of a sense of community—specifically, membership and needs fulfilment—significantly enhance tourist satisfaction. Conversely, the dimensions of influence and shared emotional connection do not significantly impact satisfaction. Moreover, the strength of the relationship between a sense of community and tourist satisfaction varies between Indonesian and Malaysian tourists. This study contributes both practically and theoretically to the tourism sector.

Data obtained were then analyzed using partial least squares (PLS) by employing SmartPLS. This study reveals that perceived behavioral control and subjective norms have a positive significant impact on young SME leaders’ intention to adopt Islamic microfinance.
