Abstract

This Research have a purpose to explain the influence job characteristic and empowerment onemployees performance mediation by Organizational Commitment at office of SemarangMerchant Marine Polytechnic. Research population is public servant of Civil at SemarangMerchant Marine Polytechnic, while sample use the technique of purposive sampling. Methoddata collecting by using quesioner which passed to a responder. Examination to researchinstrument done with the validity test ( analyse the factor) and test the reliabilitas with thecoefficient alpha of appliance to statistic test by multiple regression analysis regresi, test the t, testR2 and mediation test. Result of research indicate that the Job characteristic have an effect onpositive and significant to organizational commitment. Empowerment have an effect is positiveand significant to organizational commitment, Job characteristic have an effect on the positivebut not significant to employees performance, Empowerment have an effect is positive andsignificant to employees performance, while Organizational Commitment have an effect is positiveand significant on employees performance.KeywordS: Job Characteristic, Empowerment, Organizational Commitment, EmployeesPerformance.

Abstract

This Research have a purpose to explain the influence at job characteristic And enableness of officer to officer performance  mediation by Organizational Commitment at office of Semarang Merchant Marine Polytechnic. Research population is public servant of Civil at Semarang Merchant Marine Polytechnic, while sample use the technique of purposive sampling. Method  data collecting by using quesioner which   passed to a responder. Examination to research instrument done with the validity test ( analyse the factor) and test the reliabilitas with the coefficient alpha of appliance to statistic test by multiple regression analysis regresi, test the t, test  R2 and  mediation test. Result of research indicate that the Job characteristic have an effect on positive and signifikan to organizational commitment. Officer enableness have an effect is positive and signifikan to organizational commitment,  Job characteristic have an effect on the negativity   but  don,t signifikan to officer performance, Officer enableness have an effect is positive and signifikan to job performance, while Organizational Commitment, have an effect on positive to performance but  no signifikan. Abstract

Kapal MT. Sepinggan saat melakukan pelayaran (voyage) dari Surabaya menuju Cilacap pada tanggal 9 Agustus 2019 mengalami kerusakan pada main cooling sea water pump yang diawali dari naiknya temperature piston cooling yang tidak normal akibatnya piston mesin induk mengalami overheat. Penelitian ini menggunakan rumusan masalah yaitu apa faktor penyebab, apa akibat dari faktor penyebab, dan bagaimana penanganan akibat dari faktor penyebab, dengan metode atau pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam menganalisis permasalahan yaitu menggunkan teknik observasi (pengamatan), wawancara, dokumentasi dan studi pustaka.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab kerjamain cooling sea waterpumpyang di MT. Sepinggan, untuk mengetahui akibat yang ditimbulkan dari penyebab kerja main cooling sea water pump yang menurun di MT. Sepinggan dan untuk mengetahui cara mencegah kerja main cooling sea water pump yang menurun di MT. Sepinggan. Berdasarkan penelitian ada beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan kerja main cooling sea water pump yang menurun pada proses pendinginan piston mesin induk di MT. Sepinggan yaitu kondisi pipa air laut yang kotor dan berkarat, pompa melebihi batas jam kerja, low insulation resistance, getaran berlebih pada operasional kapal. Akibat yang ditimbulkan berupa kerja main cooling sea water pump menurun dan berakibat pada naiknya temperatur piston cooling. Penanganan yang dilakukan adalah penggantian pipa air laut dan membersihkan sea chest, melakukan pengecekan baut pengikat secara berkala, melakukan megger test. Abstract

Besarnya risiko yang dihadapi dalam melaksanakan pekerjaan di tengah laut harus benar-benar diperhatikan dari berbagai aspek keselamatan. Peningkatan sumber daya manusia maritim secara khusus kompetensi nelayan, dalam bentuk penyuluhan  dan praktik diharapkan mampu memberi pengetahuan tentang navigasi dan mencegah atau meminimalisir terjadinya kecelakaan pada saat melaut serta memberi pengetahuan tentang perawatan dan perbaikan permesinan kapal motor. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyampaian informasi dan pengenalan serta praktikum langsung kepada para nelayan. Hasil yang didapat dari kegiatan pengabdian masyaraat ini adalah para nelayan memahami akan kegunaan alat navigasi dan keselamatan serta dapat merawat  permesinan kapal motor dan  memperbaiki permesinan kapal motor secara mandiri. Disamping itu, para nelayan juga dapat mempraktekan perawatan kapal motor secara langsung dengan baik dan benar dan dapat memperpanjang usia pakai dari mesin kapal motor para nelayan masing-masing sehingga nelayan dapat berlayar dengan selamat dan aman.

Abstract

Pada era ini banyak metode pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam dunia pendidikan instansi pelayaran yang ada, salahsatunya adalah metode pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model alat peraga permesinan yang ada di kapal. Sehingga penulis mengambil subjek penelitian membuat sebuah alat peraga salah satu permesinan di atas kapal yaitu pembuatan prototype sistem kompresor udara start pada kapal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembuatan, sistem kerja, serta manfaat dari prototype sistem kompresor udara start pada kapal. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Research and Development, merupakan prosescuntuk mengembangkan suatu produk baru atau menyempurnakan produk yang sudah ada, baik itu perangkat keras maupun perangkat lunak. Pembuatan prototype sistem kompresor udara start pada kapal ini memanfaatkan dua buah modul elektronika dimana modul tersebut adalah modul jenis timmer delay relay1 channel, dan modul timmer delay relay 2 channel dimana kedua modul tersebut diprogram langsung dengan tombol yang ada pada modul. Sistem kerja yang ada pada alat peraga ini adalah kompresor mengisi udara pada tabung hingga tekanan mencukupi, kemudia udara bertekanan pada tabung akan digunakan untuk start mesin induk yang berupa simulasi sebuah silinder piston dari mesin 4 tak. Sistem ini dapat berjalan karena adanya kontrol otomatisasi dari modul elektronika. Kata Kunci: Protoype, Kompresor, Timmer Delay Relay.

Abstract

Technology in the digitalization era and the Covid-19 pandemic has changed systems and patterns of life, including character education for cadets. Digital era has brought various good changes as a positive impact that can be used as well as possible. But at the same time, digital era also brings many negative impacts, so that it becomes a new challenge in human life in this digital era, especially for the Level I cadets of the PIP Semarang. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the digitalization era as proxied as social media, online learning and emotional intelligence on the ethics and behavior of Level I cadets of PIP Semarang. The method used in this research is quantitative. The population in this study was 412 cadets, while the sample was 274 cadets. Data analysis used multiple linear regression. The F test in this study indicate that social media, online learning and emotional intelligence together affect the ethics and behavior of the Level I cadets of PIP Semarang. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the digitalization era has an effect on the ethics and behavior of Level 1 cadets at PIP Semarang.

Abstract

The existence of the Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in the PIP Semarang Level I cadet education process being carried out online, including the formation of cadet character. This study presents an approach in growing and shaping the character of the Level I PIP Semarang cadets with android-based application media. The character building application is made to instill character values that must exist in PIP Semarang Level I cadets in order to build a nation with Indonesian character. With this android-based application, it can assist in creating, converting, storing, communicating and disseminating information that will be developed as a model for Taruna Character Education at the Semarang Shipping Science Polytechnic. Development using the waterfall method and testing using blackbox. Based on the results of the blackbox test, it can be said that the test results can be said to have worked well and correctly with an increase in the overall weighted average value before and after system development with a difference of 1.45

Abstract

Pesawat bantu LO purifier diatas kapal adalah salah satu mesin bantu yang memiliki peranan yang sangat penting pada sistem pelumasan pada main engine. Fungsinya untuk memisahkan minyak lumas dari air, lumpur dan kotoran. pada saat peneliti melaksanakan praktek laut di KM Gunung Dempo, pada saat kapal perjalanan dari pelabuhan Sorong menuju pelabuhan Makassar, Pesawat bantu LO Purifier terjadi suatu kerusakan, yaitu keluarnya oli pada saluran sludge di LO Purifier pada saat dioperasikan dan adanya alarm LO Purifier failure sehingga mengakibatkan kinerja LO Purifier menurun. Kemudian LO Purifier segera dimatikan oleh masinis 3 yunior sebelum oli yang keluar lebih banyak dan menyebabkan kurangnya oli pada sump tank main engine. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab overflow minyak lumas pada LO Purifier, untuk mengetahui dampak dari overflow minyak lumas pada LO Purifier, serta untuk mengetahui upaya yang bisa dilakukan agar kinerja LO purifier dapat beroperasi normal kembali. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada skripsi ini adalah kualitatif dengan teknik analisis menggunakan metode fishbone dengan pendekatan 4M (Machine, Material, Method, and Man). Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini menunjukan faktor penyebab overflow minyak lumas pada LO purifier adalah bowl kotor, bearing shaft bowl rusak, shaft bowl mengalami keausan. Dampak yang ditimbulkan dari faktor penyebab overflow minyak lumas adalah bowl menjadi berat, Suara gemuruh pada LO purifier, dan putaran bowl tidak stabil. Upaya yang bisa dilakukan agar kinerja LO purifier dapat beroperasi normal kembali adalah dengan cara membersihkan bowl LO purifier dan mengganti komponen bearing shaft bowl dan shaft bowl dengan yang baru.

Abstract

The main engine Lubricating Oil (LO) standby pump is crucial for smooth ship operations. Therefore, it is essential that this equipment is well-maintained. However, future problems can arise and disrupt ship operations if the maintenance schedule is not followed. The main engine lubrication system can be disrupted due to a damaged L.O. standby pump, which can interfere with the smooth lubrication of the main engine. Based on field observation during a 12-month and 2-day sea project on board MT. Klawotong, the researcher experienced overheating of the L.O. standby pump. When the ship entered bad weather on the voyage from Wayame to Tual, it disrupted the crew's comfort on board while working. The purpose of this research is to determine the causal factors, the impact of overheating on the pump, and efforts to prevent overheating of the L.O. pump. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by conducting interviews and direct field observations. Data analysis technique using SHEL (Software, Hardware, Environment and Liveware). By interviewing the Chief Engineer, 2nd Engineer, and 4th Engineer, this study states that overheating of the main engine L.O. standby pump is caused by a damaged rubber coupling, a damaged oil seal, and abnormal vibration in the pump. The impact of these factors will reduce pump performance, reduce lubrication in the main engine, and reduce pump performance. Preventive measures can be done by implementing routine maintenance on the pump and cleaning the oil filter regularly. Cleaning dirt adhering to the oil filter using a brush, solar, and following the procedures correctly and properly.

Abstract

Crank pin bearing consist of two plates with very smooth surfaces made from various metal layers with different hardness levels. This component is crucial because it supports the performance of the connecting rod on the crankshaft. It is installed to reduce friction occurring during combustion between the crankshaft and connecting rod. After combustion, the translational force of the piston is converted into rotational force on the crankshaft. The purpose of the research is to understand the factors, impacts, and mitigation efforts related to the damage of metal bearings on the auxiliary engine of MT. Salmon Mustafa. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with fishbone analysis techniques, where data is obtained from observations, interviews, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with the Chief Engineer, Second Engineer, and Third Engineer. The results of this study indicate that the causes of metal bearing damage on the auxiliary engine are suboptimal PMS implementation, inappropriate metal bearing components, decreased lubrication oil pressure, suboptimal lubrication oil cooling, presence of deposits on components, and corrosion or wear. The impacts of these factors include reduced performance of the auxiliary engine, imbalanced crankshaft rotation, and damage to the connecting rod and crankshaft. Efforts to prevent damage to the metal bearings of the auxiliary engine include increasing lubrication oil volume, cleaning the lubrication oil cooler, adjusting LO temperature and LO pressure, cleaning the lubrication oil filter, routine checking of the metal bearings of the auxiliary engine, and monitoring the running hours of the auxiliary engine lubrication oil.
