Abstract

This research uses quantitative descriptive analysis which has the title "Mapping Areas of Forest and Land Fire Vulnerability in the Saniang Bakar Area, X Koto District, Solok Regency." This research aims to determine the distribution of forest and land fire vulnerability based on the influence of each parameter: land cover, Rain intensity, soil type, height in the Saniang Baka area, research results based on each parameter of land cover which is quite large, fires are dominated by forests covering an area of 4946.5 ha and shrubs covering an area of 3810.2 ha, the rain intensity parameter is dominated by the very low category. around 200 mm/year, the majority of soil type parameters are Andisols, the height parameters are generally dominated by the sloping category. Understanding the distribution of land surface temperatures using the Land Surface Temperature (LST) algorithm in the Saniang Baka area shows a minimum temperature value of 14.8OC, a maximum temperature of 45.6OC and an average temperature of 30.6OC. The results of the analysis used in the Saniang Bakar area have a general level of vulnerability to forest and land fires in the high category with an area of around 2358.64 Ha.

Abstract

The leadership of Umar ibn al-Khattab marked a pivotal transformation in early Islamic governance, shifting Islam from a spiritual community into a structured political entity. This study examines the administrative reforms and statecraft innovations introduced by Umar, with a focus on his political ijtihad in shaping a functional and inclusive Islamic polity. Using a historical-critical approach and qualitative analysis of classical sources and modern scholarship, the paper explores Umar’s establishment of key institutions such as the Diwan system, separation of powers, judicial independence, public finance, and internal security. His reformist ijtihad, including the abolition of zakat for muallaf, suspension of hudud during famine, and institutionalization of public consultation, reflects a dynamic interpretation of Islamic governance responsive to socio-political realities. The study argues that Umar’s policies laid the foundational framework for Islamic constitutionalism and demonstrate the flexibility of Islamic law in adapting to administrative complexity. These reforms reveal not only Umar’s personal virtues of justice, consultation, and austerity but also a visionary political strategy that integrated religious principles with pragmatic state-building.

Abstract

Based on the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), 93% of preschool-aged children in Indonesia experience dental caries, indicating the crucial role of parents in establishing oral health habits from an early age. This study aimed to determine the relationship between caregiving factors and dental caries in children. An analytic cross-sectional survey design was used, conducted at the Posyandu in Sekip Lama Village under UPT Puskesmas Singkawang Tengah I, with a population of 84 participants selected through a total sampling technique. Research instruments included a caregiving behavior questionnaire, the child’s age, the number of the child’s teeth, the caregiver’s educational background and occupation, as well as the caries index; data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. The results showed that most parents had caregiving behavior in the adequate category (69.3%), with an average behavior score of 18.71 ± 4.5; children had an average dmf-t index of 6.08 ± 4.9, at ages 12–60 months, and an average number of teeth of 17 ± 4.5. The Spearman test revealed a significant relationship between the severity of dental caries and the child’s age, the number of teeth, the caregiver’s educational level, and caregiving behavior (p < 0.05). It can be concluded that caregiving factors play an important role in children’s oral health conditions, and parents are encouraged to be more proactive in fostering good oral hygiene habits from an early age.
