Abstract

This study aims at describing the implementation of impartial reading strategies namely collective reading, guided reading, and independent reading performed by teachers of early grades at Islamic Elementary School (MI and MIN) in six madrassas in Semarang. Implementation is conducted after the training of impartial reading is made and continued by providing assistance to teachers in creating impartial reading programs, applying impartial reading strategies, organizing the variety and types of books, and managing students in impartial reading. The program is focused on the use of books containing Islamic values as the development of modules or manuals that have been used to implement the strategy.

Abstract

Identifying learning of the information in explanatory text requires creativity in its implementation. One of the things that affect identifying learning of the information in explanatory text is the students’ reading intensity. Therefore, it takes the most effective learning method to be applied and the learning method chosen is the SQ3R method. The purpose of this study was to explain the effectiveness of identifying learning of information in explanatory text by using the SQ3R method based on the reading intensity of the XI grade students at Madrasah Aliyah. The method used in this study was an experimental research design with a quasi-experimental factorial. The sample of this research is students of class IX MAN 2 Kudus. The collection of data uses identifying learning of the explanatory text information and reading intensity test to determine high or low reading intensity. Non-test data collection uses observation and photo documentation. The results of this study were (1) The SQ3R learning method was effective in identifying information in explanatory text for class XI students of Madrasah Aliyah with an increase of 12.23, from an average of 66.51 to 78.74. This is evidenced by the sign value=0.000<0.05, which means that there is a significant difference in the learning outcomes of the experimental group pre-test post-test which is used the SQ3R learning method. Meanwhile, the ability to identify information in explanatory text to students with low reading intensity treated with the SQ3R method, and an average value is 67. Identifying Learning of the information in explanatory text based on reading intensity of the XI grade students at Madrasah Aliyah by using the SQ3R is an effective learning method. The result of this learning has increased by 12.23, from an average of 66.51 to 78.74. This is evidenced by the sign value=0.000<0.05, which means that there is a significant difference in the learning outcomes of the experimental group pretest posttest using the SQ3R learning method

Abstract

This research aims to discover the character aspects of lecturers most preferred by Elementary education students and the impacts and implications on the character of prospective teacher students. The method used in this research is qualitative field research with phenomena studies. Primary data were obtained from students through a questionnaire using a form instrument and unstructured interviews with an open pattern. The results showed that of the 13 aspects of lecturer character that were the most favored aspects of prospective Elementary School teacher students mapped from lecturer personality and educational competencies, namely lecturers who were able to place themselves, had high self-confidence, were tolerant, and understood students' character. The impact on students is increased motivation and self-confidence, more positive relationships, increased academic achievement, and development of student soft skills. The implications of the character of a favorite lecturer for the character of prospective teacher students are the formation of an Inclusive Learning environment, increased student psychological well-being, and strengthening of a positive academic culture.

Abstract

            Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar tema 5 pada siswa kelas 6 MI Islamiyah Desa Bulusari.  Karenakan penggunaan metode yang digunakan oleh guru tidak sesuai dengan karakter dari materi mata pelajaran yang disampaikan. Maka dari itu permasalahan dalam penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran khususnya tema 5 dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL pada siswa. Jenis Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas kolaboratif.  Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas 6A di MI Islamiyah Bulusari Desa Bulusari, Kecamatan Sayung, Kabupaten Demak. yang terdiri dari 31 siswa.  Objek penelitian adalah Model Pembelajaran PBL.  Tekhnik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tertulis dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil tes tertulis sebelum diberikan tindakan prosentase ketuntasan belajar yang diperoleh pada prasiklus 25, 81 %, sedangkan pada siklus I sebesar 83,87 % , kemudian pada siklus II sebesar 87,09 % dan pada siklus III sebesar 93,54 %.  Jadi dari Siklus I menuju Siklus II perkembangan anak mengalami peningkatan sebesar 3,22%, kemudian dari siklus II menuju siklus III mengalami peningkatan kembali sebesar 6,45 %. Sedangkan dari pra tindakan menuju Siklus III mengalami peningkatan sebesar 67,73 %. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajajaran PBL dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar.
