Abstract

The Qur'an and the Sahih Hadith interwave each other. Both correspond and there is no contradiction between the two for both are part of God's revelation toward Prophet Muhammad. Therefore, they are referred as sacred texts to seek guidance from. According to Ibn Hazm (d.456 AH), the sacred text must be understood textually. He treated the text as it is in the Qur'an and Sunna denoting the law of something. It is unacceptable for him to use majaz (metaphorical interpretation) except a famous majaz evidenced by other texts, ijma', sensory elements, or the language by which the text is derived. Because of this textual tendency, the Sunna / Hadith that has the power of hujjah (a valid argument) is only in the form of his sunnah qauliyyah (stated sunnah). Meanwhile, his sunnah fi'liyyah (performed sunnah) can not be used as hujjah unless it correlates with the command written in the Qur'an and Sunnah (qauliyah). The sunnah taqririyyah (confirmed sunnah), according to Ibn Hazm, is only addressed to mubah (lawful) category and has no binding legal provisions.

Abstract

This article examines the root of intersection between the study of Sufism and Hadith through the interaction between Sufis with the Hadis Transmitters (Ahl al-Hadis). A historical approach used in this research. The result founded that some early Sufis identified as active and credible transmitters of Hadis. Early Sufis generations already applied the exoteric views or irfani perspective toward understanding the Hadis. This view is a pillar for them to get the significance of the Prophetic traditions. It stated that early Sufis make the Prophet attitude as an ideal model for them. The research also founded that the Sufi’s interactions with the Transmitters are considered as a dialogical interaction between them. These interactions historically confirmed in the middle of the second century of hijriyah, for example, Ibnu Mubarak (118 H.), and the third century of hijriyah,  al-Muhasibi (243 H) and Zun an-Nun al-Misri (245 H).* * *Artikel ini mengkaji akar persinggungan antara kajian Tasawuf dan Hadis melalui pola interaksi para Sufi dengan perawi Hadis (Ahl al-Hadis). Abstract

Adolescence is important for students because it transitions from childhood to adulthood. Knowledge about changes in adolescence, especially adolescents in Islamic boarding schools regarding adolescent reproductive health, is still low, so it needs to be improved. This service aims to increase the knowledge of service partners, especially students in Islamic boarding schools, regarding adolescent reproductive health. This devotion used the ABCD method, which consists of five stages: inculturation, discovery, design, definition, and reflection. This service program is carried out in July–August 2022. Service partners are students from classes X, XI, and XII. The service program is carried out with a learning model of team games tournaments (TGT) assisted by crossword puzzles and learning videos. Service data were obtained using pre- and post-tests regarding adolescent reproductive health. The data obtained are analyzed qualitatively and descriptively. The service results showed that counselling activities using crossword puzzle media and learning videos increased the knowledge of service partners by an average of 8.41.

Abstract

Waste is a major problem in environmental management. This is due to the low level of public awareness and lifestyle toward waste management. This service aims to foster and increase public awareness of waste management and increase community ecopreneurship through training in making Eco-Enzyme in Langenharjo Village, Kendal. To achieve these goals, the UIN Walisongo community service team formed a Pentahelix movement by collaborating with the Kendal Regency Government Environment Office, Bank Sampah Induk (BSI) Kendal, Kendal Family Welfare Development Team (PKK), Kendal Industrial Estate (KIK) and Kendal Regency National Narcotics Agency (BNN). The implementation method uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method which includes three stages, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of activities. The number of training participants was 80 participants. The results of the service showed that the socialization and training of eco-enzyme were able to foster and increase public awareness by 80% with 65% from parents and the rest from millennials. This means that this socialization is quite effective and can really impact the surrounding community towards waste reduction. Meanwhile, the ecopreneurship training by turning waste into Eco-Enzyme was able to be followed by all participants, because the manufacturing process was quite easy. Unfortunately, the participation of participants from the millennial generation was still passive when compared to the enthusiasm of participants from the parent group. Nevertheless, this activity can be the first step in fostering the entrepreneurial spirit of the Langenharjo Kendal community through waste ecopreneurship.

Abstract

One of the Walisongo figures who is interesting to look at further in the map of spreading Islam in Java is Raden Umar Said or better known as Sunan Muria. The histories of Sunan Muria itself are based more on stories and folklores that have inlined from generation to generation in the traditional Muslim community around Mount of Muria rather than based on literature and manuscript notes. To fill this empty information space, researchers conducted a study of the intellectual transmissions and teachings of Sunan Muria's mysticism (Sufism) using folklore and cultural anthropology approaches. As a result, the variety of folklores and values of life that internalized in the Muslim community around Mount of Muria at least inherited in two ways. Abstract

Puritan Muslims disapprove of the syncretic architecture of the Menara Kudus Mosque; however, the early Muslim saints spreading Islam in Java adopted this Hindu-Buddhist architectural style as a sign of cultural acceptance and continuity. This study aims to explore the symbolic meanings of the syncretic architecture of the Menara Kudus Mosque built by Sunan Kudus. This qualitative study employs the symbolic interaction theory of Joel M. Charon and George Ritzer, supplemented by the comparative method to unveil the similarities and differences in functions and structures between the Menara Kudus Mosque and Hindu-Buddhist temples and their inherent symbolism can be understood. The study found that Sunan Kudus chose this unique architectural style to promote inclusive and tolerant behavior through a theological-imaginative dialogue process to create social harmony. Such an attitude reflects Sufistic tawḥīd teachings combined with a deep understanding and respect for the local cultures.
