Abstract

Purpose: This study analyzes the effects of financial scandals on regulatory reforms and their impact on corporate financial decision-making. The research explores how regulatory changes influence financial strategies, focusing on differences in corporate adaptation in developed and developing markets. Research Design and Methodology: The study employs a qualitative systematic literature review (SLR) approach, synthesizing findings from peer-reviewed journals, books, and reports. The analysis integrates theoretical perspectives, such as agency theory, to comprehensively understand the dynamics between financial scandals, regulatory changes, and corporate financial strategies. Findings and Discussion: The findings indicate that financial scandals significantly drive regulatory reforms to strengthen transparency and accountability. Companies respond to these reforms by adjusting their capital structure, debt management, and investment strategies. Advanced technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) have become pivotal in enhancing compliance and reporting efficiency. However, technological adoption presents challenges, particularly for companies in developing markets that face financial and infrastructure constraints. The study highlights that the success of regulatory reforms depends on robust enforcement mechanisms, stakeholder collaboration, and institutional support. Differences in corporate adaptation underscore the importance of tailored regulatory approaches to balance financial oversight and corporate flexibility. Implications: The study offers practical insights for policymakers and corporate leaders in formulating regulatory frameworks that foster innovation while maintaining financial integrity. Recommendations include simplifying compliance processes, providing technical guidance, and offering incentives for digitalization. These strategies can enhance corporate resilience and contribute to sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze employee performance at the Makassar Hajj Dormitory UPT by focusing on the factors of human resource (HR) development, compensation, work environment, leadership, and work motivation. A quantitative research approach was employed through a survey of all employees at UPT Asrama Haji Makassar. The sampling technique used a saturated sample with 147 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed through instrument testing, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing. The findings reveal that HR development, work environment, and leadership have a positive and significant influence on both employee motivation and performance, while compensation has a negative and significant effect. Furthermore, work motivation shows a negative influence on employee performance. The results also indicate that HR development, compensation, work environment, and leadership affect employee performance indirectly through work motivation as a mediating variable. This study emphasizes the importance of HR development strategies, supportive work environments, and effective leadership in improving employee performance at UPT Asrama Haji Makassar. Conversely, inappropriate compensation systems tend to reduce employee motivation and performance.

Abstract

This research aims to empirically test and analyze the effectiveness of the Cash Management System (CMS) and the Government Credit Card (KKP) on fraud indications, while also assessing the role of internal control systems (ICS) as a mediating variable. The research was conducted across work units of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) in South Sulawesi Province using a quantitative explanatory approach. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to 96 financial management officials, including Budget User Authorities, Commitment Making Officials, Payment Order Signatories, and Expenditure Treasurers. The data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results indicate that the effectiveness of CMS and KKP significantly influences internal control systems. However, internal control systems do not have a significant effect on fraud indications and do not serve as a mediating variable. This means that the influence of CMS and KKP on fraud is direct, and not mediated through internal control systems. These findings suggest that the implementation of non-cash transactions such as CMS and KKP plays a direct role in reducing fraud risks, even though the current internal control systems are not yet sufficiently effective as an intervention mechanism. Therefore, strengthening and restructuring internal controls is necessary to enhance their role in fraud prevention. This study provides practical implications for government institutions in promoting financial transparency through digital payment systems and in reinforcing control over the use of public funds.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on financial performance and stock returns in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2020-2022. This research uses a quantitative approach with secondary data as the primary source. The research sample was selected using the purposive sampling method, resulting in 47 issuers as research objects. The data analysis technique used Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) software, which allows in-depth analysis of the relationship between CSR variables and financial performance and stock returns. The results showed that CSR disclosure positively and significantly influences financial performance, as measured by Return on Equity (ROE). In addition, CSR also indicates a positive and significant influence on stock returns. These findings suggest that CSR disclosure is a corporate social responsibility and an effective business strategy to create added value. With higher CSR disclosure, companies can increase investor confidence, attract market interest, and strengthen their reputation, ultimately impacting growing profits and stock market stability. This study implies that companies, particularly in the banking sector, must strengthen CSR disclosure as part of their business strategy. Transparent CSR disclosure not only improves the competitiveness of companies in the capital market but also supports long-term sustainability. The findings are also relevant for regulators to design policies encouraging accountability and transparency in CSR reports, creating a more stable and sustainable investment environment.
