Abstract

Overfishing has an impact on decrease of fish stocks so that it affects status of fish resource management. This research aims to analyze the optimal utilization of skipjack resources in the waters of Moluccas. Primary and secondary data were obtained through interviews and official publications. Data were analyzed through surplus production model with the techniques of CYP, and continued with the analysis of the bioeconomic model of Gordon Schaefer. The results showed that at the management regime of MSY, skipjack production reached 61.461.26 tons, with fishing effort 50,295 trips. At the open access regime, efforts increased to 84,836 trips with declining of production to 32,475.32 tons. Compared to both the MSY and open access, resource management regime at the MEY contributed to a higher economic rent, Rp 327,868,123,7700, but a lower fishing effort of 42,418 trips, and production 59,953.41 tons. Based on the bio-techno-economic values, the management regime of MEY was classified as the optimal utilization of the skipjack resources. ABSTRAK Tangkap lebih berdampak terhadap penurunan stok ikan sehingga mempengaruhi status pengelolaan sumberdaya ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis optimalisasi pemanfaatan sumberdaya ikan cakalang di perairan Maluku. Data primer dan sekunder diperoleh melalui wawancara dan publikasi resmi. Data dianalisis melalui model surplus produksi dengan teknik CYP, dan dilanjutkan dengan analisis model bioekonomi GS. Hasil menunjukkan pada rezim pengelolaan MSY, produksi ikan cakalang mencapai 61.461.28 ton, dengan tingkat upaya penangkapan 50.184 trip. Pada rezim open access, upaya meningkat menjadi 84.683 trip dengan produksi menurun 32.416,66 ton. Dibandingkan MSY dan open access, pengelolaan sumberdaya pada rezim MEY menghasilkan rente ekonomi tertinggi Rp 328.138.580.000, upaya penangkapan yang rendah 42.341 trip, dan produksi 59.960,14 ton. Berdasarkan nilai bio-tekno-ekonomi, maka rezim pengelolaan MEY diklasifikasikan sebagai status pemanfaatan sumberdaya cakalang yang optimal. Abstract

Determination of fishing ground by small-scale fisheries is still based on experience passed down from generation to generation. Fishermen do not yet have the knowledge and technology to make it easier for them to determine a good fishing ground, so it is inefficient in terms of time, cost and effort. In addition, business management that is not running properly has resulted in the business being run not developing. This training aims to increase fishermen's knowledge about determining potential fishing grounds, specifically for demersal fish species and management of small-scale fisheries. The training activities were carried out in Hukurila Village, South Leitimur District, Ambon City. The method of implementation is presentation of materials, discussions and than training in making bookkeeping simple. Participants were 31 fishers who were involved in this activity. Fishers felt that the material they received was very useful because it made it easier for them to determine demersal fishing areas that had important economic value. In addition, business bookkeeping through training has helped them manage the finances of the business they are running.

Abstract

Small-scale fisheries play a vital role in the economy and food security of both local and national communities. However, in carrying out their activities, they face various obstacles, including the weakness of human resource capabilities and the challenge of declining fishery resources. Therefore, efforts to improve the capacity of small-scale fishers are essential. This community service activity (PkM) aims to enhance the capacity of small-scale fishers in fish catch logbooks and fishery resource conservation to ensure business sustainability. This PkM was conducted by presenting material by resource persons, followed by discussions and question-and-answer sessions. The participants of this activity came from Tulehu, Waai, and Liang Villages in Salahutu District, Central Maluku Regency, which was held in Negeri Waai. For the fishers, the implementation of this PkM is very beneficial because they can gain knowledge and skills in using logbooks that have not been done so far. The completion of logbooks, which has become an obligation for fishers both nationally and internationally, is still unknown and not practiced by many fishers. After participating in this PkM, they understand the importance of filling out logbooks. In terms of conservation, fishers are already aware of fishery resource conservation by using environmentally friendly fishing gear. However, they still need assistance and capacity-building as fishers.

Abstract

The operation of purse seine fishing gear already exists and is utilized by fishermen in Waai Country, which is administratively located in Salahutu sub-district, Central Maluku Regency. The objectives of this research are: 1) Analyze the socio-economic aspects of purse seines in Waai Country; 2) Describe the purse seine fishing unit; 3) Formulate a strategy for developing the purse seine business in Waai Country. The people of Waai State, whose main profession is purse seine fishermen, also have other jobs, including as motorbike taxi drivers and farmers, to support their family's economic needs and their education is much better, the results of research show that to determine which strategy is best. will be used in the development of purse seine fishing in Negeri Waai, Salahutu District, Central Maluku Regency, so the analysis data obtained is that the results of the analysis are in quadrant 1, so the strategy used is the SO strategy including: 1) Increase production, 2) Use efficient technology, 3) Facilitate fishermen to get fuel with fisherman card subsidies.

Abstract

One of the fishery commodities with high economic value as an export product of Central Maluku Regency is tuna. Tuna catching in Central Maluku Regency generally uses a trolley fishing gear. Amahai District is one of the tuna-producing areas in Central Maluku. In tuna fishing activities, financial analysis is important for business sustainability and the welfare of fishing communities. This study aims to analyze costs and revenues as well as business feasibility. The research was conducted in September-December 2019 in Amahai District, Central Maluku Regency. The data collection method used purposive sampling through observation and interviews. The data obtained were analyzed using financial analysis by calculating income and business feasibility, then discussed them descriptively. The results showed that the average profit per month was IDR.3,036,733/unit ship, the investment payback period is less than one year. This business is feasible to develop because it has a positive NPV value, Net B/C and Gross B/C greater than 1. ABTSRAK Salah satu komiditi perikanan dengan nilai ekonomis tinggi sebagai produk ekspor Kabupaten Maluku Tengah adalah ikan tuna. Usaha pernangkapan ikan tuna di Kabupaten Maluku Tengah umumnya menggunakan alat tangkap pancing tonda. Kecamatan Amahai merupakan salah satu daerah penghasil ikan tuna di Maluku Tengah. Pada kegiatan perikanan tangkap tuna, analisis finansial penting dilakukan untuk keberlanjutan usaha serta kesejahteraan masyarakat nelayan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis biaya dan pendapatan serta kelayakan usaha perikanan pancing tuna. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan September-Desember 2019 di Kecamatan Amahai, Kabupaten Maluku Tengah. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan purposive samplingmelalui observasi dan wawancara. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan anaisis finansial dengan menghitung pendapatan dan kelayakan usaha, selanjutnya dibahas secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rat-rata keuntungan tiap bulan sebesar Rp. 3,036,733 /unit kapal, lama waktu pengembalian investasi kurang dari satu tahun. Usaha ini layak dikembangkan karena memiliki nilai NPV positif, Net B/C dan Gross B/C lebih besar 1. Kata Kunci: Ikan tuna, kelayakan usaha, penangkapan, pendapatan, produksi

Abstract

Yellowfin tuna is an important economic commodity that is widely exploited with various fishing tools and methods and catches of various sizes. This study aims to describe yellowfin tuna fishing units and analyze the size distribution and productivity of yellowfin tuna resources based on seasons in the waters of the Tanimbar Islands. This research was carried out in the waters of the Tanimbar Islands from August 2021-March 2022. Data were collected through interviews, observations and measurements of the length and weight of the catch and analyzed descriptively and CPUE analysis. The results showed that catching yellowfin tuna in the waters of the Tanimbar Islands was classified as a small-scale fishery, using hand fishing gear with boat sizes under 10 GT. Yellowfin tuna caught in the waters of the Tanimbar Islands throughout the year are dominated by small size fish that are still classified as juveniles. The presence of large-sized tuna was more in the first transitional season with an attendance percentage of 21.98%. The abundance of yellowfin tuna resources in the waters of the Tanimbar Islands fluctuated according to the seasons, and the highest abundance was found in the transitional season one. ABSTRAK Ikan tuna madidihang merupakan komoditas ekonomis penting yang banyak dieksploitasi dengan berbagai alat dan metode penangkapan serta hasil tangkapan yang beragam ukurannya. Penelitian ini betujuan untuk mendeskripsi unit penangkapan tuna madidihang dan menganalisis distribusi ukuran serta produktivitas sumberdaya ikan tuna madidihang berdasarkan musim di perairan Kepulauan Tanimbar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di perairan Kepulauan Tanimbar sejak Agustus 2021-Maret 2022. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi dan pengukuran panjang dan berat hasil tangkapan, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif serta analisis CPUE. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penangkapan ikan tuna madidihang di perairan Kepulauan Tanimbar tergolong perikanan skala kecil, menggunakan alat tangkap pancing tangan dengan ukuran kapal di bawah 10 GT. Ikan tuna madidihang yang tertangkap di perairan Kepulauan Tanimbar sepanjang tahun didominasi ikan ukuran kecil yang masih tergolong juvenile. Kehadiran ikan tuna ukuran besar lebih banyak pada musim peralihan satu dengan persentasi kehadiran sebesar 21,98%. Abstract

Fishery resources are open access and often considered as common property. This can lead to a decrease in the quality of fish resources and economic rents. This study aims to calculate the maximum sustainable yield (MSY) and to determine the exploitation status of mackerel tuna (Auxis thazard) in Central Maluku Regency water. Analysis of MSY was conducted using the Walter Hilborn and Schaefer models. It is revealed that the main fishing gear for mackerel tuna fishing in Central Maluku is purse seine which in the MSY analysis are classified as standard fishing gear. The results show that the maximum hMSY and eMSY are 17,329 tons/year and 3,055 trips/year respectively. The utilization status is at the fully-exploited level. Abstract

Tanaman melon merupakan salah satu tanaman buahan yang populer di masyarakat. Daging buah melon yang tebal dan manis memberikan kesan segar menjadi daya tarik buah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) di Ohoi Udar Kecamatam Elat Kabupaten Maluku Tenggara bertujuan untuk membina dan melatih masyarakat melalui kelompok tani tentang budidaya tanaman melon. Budidaya tanaman melon merupakan ilmu dan pengetahuan baru bagi anggota kelompok tani sehingga antusiasme sangat tinggi. Kegiatan PkM dilakukan dalam tiga tahap yaitu sharing ilmu, praktek di lahan dan evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan sangat memuaskan dimana terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan baik cara budidaya maupun pengoperasian alat.

Abstract

The importance of cost and benefit analysis of fishing business is intended to provide information to fishermen about the amount of profit obtained and the potential financial risks that will be faced. The purpose of this study was to determine the amount of costs, income and profit and feasibility of the business. This study was conducted in Waai Village, Salahutu District, Central Maluku Regency. Data collection through interviews and observations and analyzed using cost and benefit analysis and investment criteria. The results of the analysis showed that the total cost each year was IDR 24,211,167 and the total income each year was IDR 42,480,000, so the net profit each year was IDR 18,268,833. From a financial aspect, this business is feasible to develop because it has a positive NPV and net B/C> 1.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of community service activities in Ohoi (Village) Ngefuit, Kei Besar District, Southeast Maluku Regency, Maluku Province is to provide counseling and training on cultivating fruit plants in yards while explaining the benefits of fruit for health. Communities far from the city center are state assets that must be maintained, fostered, and trained to minimize the backwardness that occurs. Rambutan and longan have good adaptability, so they are easy to plant in the yards of farmer groups. The close planting location allows maximum care, so it is expected to provide good results. The process of sharing knowledge and mentoring in PkM activities is an important thing that academics due to the community as part of implementing science and knowledge.
