The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Problem Solving learning model based Just in Time Teaching (JiTT) on students science process skills (SPS) on structure and function of plant tissue concept. This research was conducted at State Senior High School in South Tangerang .The research conducted using the quasi-experimental with Nonequivalent pretest-Postest Control Group Design. The samples of this study were 34 students for experimental group and 34 students for the control group. Data was obtained using a process skill test instrument (essai type) that has been tested for its validity and reliability. Result of data analysis by ANACOVA, show that there were significant difference of postest between experiment and control group, by controlling the pretest score (F = 4.958; p <0.05). Thus, the problem-solving learning based on JiTT proved to improve studentsâ SPS. The contribution of this treatment in improving the studentsâ SPS was 7.2%. This shows that there was effect of problem solving model based JiTT on studentsâ SPS on the Structure and function of plant tissue concept.

This study aims to determine the effect of POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) learning models on students' science process skills on the coordination system concept. This research was carried out in SMA Negeri 9 Tangerang Selatan in the 2017/2018 school year. This research method is quasi-experimental with nonequivalent control group design. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. The study sample consisted of 73 students: 37 experimental group and 36 control group. The research instrument used is a test of science process skills in the form of a description test and observation sheet. The results of data analysis of students' science process skills using ANACOVA, showed that there were significant differences between the experimental and the control group. This shows that there was an effect of the application of the POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) learning model on students' science process skills on the concept of coordination system.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan media video animasi sistem pernapasan manusia untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTs Negeri 3 Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian two group pretest-posttest. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling dan adapun penentuan kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dilakukan secara random. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 32 siswa untuk kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan media video animasi dan 33 siswa untuk kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan media gambar power point. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar yang berupa tes objektif berbentuk pilihan ganda yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Analisis data kedua kelompok menggunakan uji t, diperoleh hasil thitung 2,68 dan ttabel pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05 sebesar 2,00, maka thitung > ttabel. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media video animasi sistem pernapasan manusia dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi. Hal ini dikarenakan, media video animasi dapat memudahkan siswa untuk memahami proses pernapasan yang terjadi di dalam tubuh manusia. Dengan demikian, siswa dapat memahami materi sistem pernapasan secara utuh.

Critical thinking are capability that need to analyzing, making decisions, solving problems and making arguments. This study aims to find out critical thinking skills used concept map on human skeletal and muscular system concept. The research was conducted in State Senior High School 2 of South Tangerang City. The method used was descriptive research. The sampling was done by purposive sampling technic, and the action class was randomly determined by the teacher. The sample were 29 students. The instrument used were the concept map and interview sheet which have been tested for the validity and the reliability. The data were analyzed by descriptive quantitative and qualitative statistic. The result shows that critical thingking skills used concept map was low-sore on average 31.95%. Concept Map can used for measure critical thinking skills especially on analysis and synthesis. Critical thingking skills used concept map indicator include two indicator, such as analysis 34.3 %, synthesis 29.08%. Abstract This research aimed to improve biology learning score through a constructivist learning assisted by video/animation on the concept of ecology. This research was a classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The subjects were 31 students of class X of SMAN 3 MIPA 3 South Tangerang during the academic year of 2014/2015. The research instrument used was a multiple choice test and an observation sheet. The results showed that the average students’ score in the first cycle was 72.55 with 58% of students achieved the minimum standard of mastery learning (Ketuntatan Belajar Minimal KBM) and the average students’ score in the second cycle was 80.55 with 87% students achieved KBM. According to the results, it was concluded that constructivism learning assisted with video/animation could improve students learning outcomes particularly on the concept of ecology. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi dengan pembelajaran konstruktivisme berbantu media video/animasi pada konsep Ekologi. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah 31 siswa kelas X MIPA 3 SMAN 3 Kota Tangerang Selatan tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pencapaian hasil belajar pada siklus I rerata 72.55 dengan jumlah yang mencapai Ketuntasan Belajar Minimal (KBM) 58%, pada siklus II rerata belajar 80.55 dengan KBM 87%. Dengan hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran konstruktivisme berbantu media video/animasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar pada konsep Ekologi. PENGUKURAN BEBAN KOGNITIF MAHASISWA DALAM PERKULIAHAN BIOLOGI SEL AbstractThis research is a descriptive study that aims to obtain a picture of the cognitive load of biology students on cell biology lecture. The study was conducted at the Biology Education Study Program in one of the Universities in Jakarta. Data collection was carried out in the even semester of the 2015/2016 academic year, in October 2015. The subject was 55 students who enrolled in cell biology courses was 55 students. Intrinsic cognitive load (ICL) is described in reverse through the ability to process information that is measured by using instrument that contain questions related to information received in the lecture in the form of student worksheets. Extraneous cognitive load (ECL) is described and measured by using a subjective rating scale questionnaire based on a Likert scale, contain statements about students' efforts in understanding the information received in the lecture. Germane cognitive load (GCL) is described and measured through unit tests conducted at the end of the lecture in the form of essay tests. The relationship between the three components of cognitive load was analyzed through correlation tests. The results showed the average student information processing ability was 91.12 (low ICL) with a mean mental effort of 61.31 (high ECL). For average learning outcomes 37.39 (low GCL). The results of statistical tests, it is known that the correlation of the information processing ability with mental effort inversely proportional (negative correlation) which shows students' information processing ability can help reduce mental effort in cell biology lectures. The high ECL and low GCL have implications for the need to improve cell biology learning strategies to reduce the students’s cognitive load.AbstrakPenelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran beban kognitif mahasiswa biologi pada perkuliahan biologi sel. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Prodi Pendidikan Biologi di salah satu Perguruan Tinggi di Jakarta. Pengambilan data dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun akademik 2015/2016, bulan Oktober 2015. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 55 orang mahasiswa yang mengontrak mata kuliah biologi sel. Intrinsic cognitive load (ICL) digambarkan secara terbalik melalui kemampuan memproses informasi yang diukur dengan menggunakan instrumen yang yang berisi pertanyaan-pertanyaan terkait informasi yang diterima dalam perkuliahan yaitu berupa lembar kerja mahasiswa (LKM). Extraneous cognitive load (ECL) digambarkan dan diukur dengan menggunakan angket subjective rating scale berbasis skala Likert. Germane cognitive load (GCL) digambarkan dan diukur melalui tes unit yang dilakukan pada akhir perkuliahan berupa soal uraian. Hubungan antara ketiga komponen beban kognitif dianalisis melalui uji korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata kemampuan memproses informasi mahasiswa sebesar 91,12 (ICL rendah) dengan nilai rerata usaha mentalnya sebesar 61,31 (ECL tinggi). Untuk rerata hasil belajar 37,39 (GCL rendah). Dari hasil uji statistik diketahui korelasi kemampuan memproses informasi dengan usaha mental berbanding terbalik (korelasi negatif) yang menunjukkan kemampuan memproses informasi mahasiswa dapat membantu mengurangi usaha mental dalam perkuliahan biologi sel. Tingginya ECL dan rendahnya GCL memberikan implikasi terhadap perlunya perbaikan strategi pembelajaran biologi sel untuk menurunkan beban kognitif mahasiswa.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran secara sistematis mengenai fakta penggunaan authentic assessment oleh guru Biologi di Madrasah Aliyah Se-Kota Bogor. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2013/2014, dimulai pada bulan September sampai dengan bulan Oktober 2013. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah lima Madrasah Aliyah yaitu MAN 1 Kota Bogor, MAN 2 Kota Bogor, MA Persatuan Umat Islam (PUI), MA Al-Ghazaly, dan MA Al-Haitsam. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah instrumen non tes yang terdiri dari dokumentasi berupa lembar daftar cek penilaian otentik, angket penilaian otentik, dan wawancara. Analisis data dilakukan terhadap data kualitatif dan kuantitatif, untuk data kuantitatif analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan rumus deskriptif persentase, kemudian hasil persentase dikategorikan sesuai dengan kategori persentase menurut John Wilkinson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesesuaian dokumen penilaian kinerja atau unjuk kerja dan dokumen penilaian diskusi atau presentasi pada kelima dokumen penilaian otentik sudah termasuk dalam kategori sesuai dan hasil angket mengenai penilaian otentik telah menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan authentic assessment dalam pembelajaran Biologi di Madrasah Aliyah Kota Bogor sudah berkategori baik.
