Abstract

The recycling of residual agricultural biomass using anaerobic digestion allows for the recovery of biomass carbon and nutrients as sources of energy and fertilizer. The obstacles that are encountered in this process include the lignocellulosic structure of biomass tissue and its high carbon-to-nitrogen (C:N) ratio. This study evaluates the co-digestion system of pretreated sorghum stalks and wastewater sludge. The stalks were pretreated by partial bio-oxidation to improve their bacterial accessibility. The digesters were fed a mixture of stalk and sludge at ratios of 100:0, 80:20, 60:40, and 40:60 (total solids [TS] basis). The digesters were run in batches at 35-36 °C, with an initial TS of 15%. The digesters’ performance was evaluated in terms of biogas production rate and yield. The digesters that were run with feed ratios of 80:20 and 60:40 showed shorter lag phase, higher biogas generation rates, and higher biogas yields compared to those run with feed ratios of 100:0 and 40:60. The highest specific biogas production (of 122 L/kg TS) was achieved by the digesters run at ratios of 80:20 and 60:40. The digesters run only with stalks (ratio 100:0) resulted in specific gas production of 67 L/kg TS, whereas those fed on a feed ratio of 40:60 generated only 13 L/kg TS. We conclude that the co-digestion of sorghum stalks and wastewater sludge at a proper ratio improves biogas production.

Abstract

The availability of nutrients in the growing media greatly affects the process of plant growth. This study aims to determine the effect of coconut coir compost media on the vegetative growth of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frustescens). This research was carried out at the Green House of the Department of Biology Education, Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, Mandalika University of Education from September 22 - November 2, 2021 and the weighing was carried out at the Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, Mandalika University of Education. The design of this study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 6 replications, namely the treatment of coconut coir ash concentration P1 (coco coir ash concentration 5.0 grams), P2 (10 grams coconut coir ash concentration), P3 (coconut ash concentration 10 grams), P3 (coconut ash concentration 10 grams), coconut 15 grams), and 1 control treatment. Parameters observed were number of leaves, stem height, wet weight, and dry weight. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results showed that: 1) there were differences in the number of leaves and stem height for each treatment (P < 0.05), where the highest to lowest number of leaves and stem height were obtained in treatments P0, P1, P2, and P3; 2) there was no difference in wet weight for all treatments (P > 0.05); and 3) there was no difference in dry weight for all treatments (P > 0.05). The practicum guide enrichment materials produced from this study have met the criteria for media validation with a score of 70.83%, content validation 75%, and language validation 65%. With this result, the enrichment material is in the feasible category.

Abstract

the purpose of this article is understand the importance of humans possessing knowledge and technology. A person with a lot of knowledge will know what to do and can solve problems that arise. Science is rapidly expanding and has an enormous impact on everyone's life. So scientific and technological advances are intertwined to make future life possible. Human knowledge and technology can change the perspective of ancient life and enrich the outlook of a better future. The findings suggest that human beings can possess knowledge and technology and that man enters an age of digital diversity. Philosophy and science are Bridges to changes and developments in the world of technology, so from the current technology's rise we are increasingly going from human power to sophisticated technological forces such as artificial intelligence and computers and from a technology we can get to science. It is thus inferred that a technology can actually give science

Abstract

The Role of Nurses in the Rehabilitation Process for Post-Stroke Patients at RSUD dr. Moewardi surakarta Abstract Stroke is a global health issue with high morbidity and mortality rates, often resulting in long-term disability. Nurses play a crucial role in the post-stroke rehabilitation process, ranging from the acute phase to functional recovery at home. This qualitative study aims to explore and describe the role of nurses in the rehabilitation of post-stroke patients at RSUD dr. Moewardi Surakarta, as well as the factors influencing the execution of this role. The research method employed focused interviews with four experienced rehabilitation nurses. The findings indicate that nurses play an active role in rehabilitation education, family training, care coordination, implementation of physical therapy (particularly Range of Motion/ROM exercises), and monitoring and evaluating rehabilitation outcomes. Major challenges include unrealistic perceptions from patients and families, handling specific cases such as muscle contractures, and resource management. However, the use of digital technology and medical team collaboration have proven to be key factors for success. This study emphasizes the multidimensional role of nurses in improving the quality of life for post-stroke patients.
