Abstract

THE EXTENSION EFFECT ON ANIMAL SMALLHOLDER FARMERS AT WEST KAWANGKOAN DISTRICT. Study was conducted on April 2019 to evaluate the extension effect on the animal smallholder attitude in changing their skill development at West Kawangkoan district. Samples were determined by purposive sampling method involving 40 smallholders of local beef cattle. Data were analyzed byChi-Square analysis method. The data analyses showed that the expected frequency value )  was 290.35 to the affecting parameter and nothing effectexpectation value was 69.65. For the attitude variable, the expected frequency )value was 225.83 to the affecting parameter and nothing effectexpectation value was 54.17.Moreover, the skill variableshowed that the expected frequency )value was 225.83 to the affecting parameter and nothing effectexpectation value was 54.17.Analysis result of the calculatedwas 49.0954 >  tabel of 5.991. The calculatedwasset at the area of . Therefore, it can be concluded that the extension activity at villages of  theKanonang I, Kanonang II, Kanonang IV and Kanonang V affected the animal smallholder attitude in changing their skill development at West Kawangkoan district. Keywords : Chi square analysisi, Extension activity,  smallholder attitude,

Abstract

THE ROLE OF EXTENSIONISTS TO THE DECISION OF FARMERS IN THE ADOPTION OF TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION FARMS IN SANGKUB SUB-DISTRICT, NORTH BOLAANG MONGONDOW DISTRICT.Extension activities is one of the goverment’s efforts that have an important role in improving knowledge, skills and attitude to livestock. Extension workers have an important role in the development of livestock breeding and improvement of livestock technology adoption process to farmers. The purpose of this study was to examine the role of extension workers in decision making farmers in the adoption of technological innovation farms in District of Sangkub North of Bolaang Mongondow regency. This research was done by survey method. Three  villages was selected using purposive method. Thirty respondents then selected  from breeder groups, which is done randomly. Data collection was done by interview, observation and documentation. The sources of data taken include primary data in the form of respondent identity, the number of livestock kept, the technology applied and the role of extension workers. Secondary data obtained from agriculture office of north Bolaang Mongondow regency, agricultural and forestry extension agency (BP3K) of Sangkub sub-district and central bureau of statistics Bolaang Mongondow. Data were analyzed by using scoring method and descriptive analysis. Result of the research indicate that the tendency of farmer appraisal to agriculture extension role as motivator, dynamic and facilitator in district of  Sangkub Regency of North Bolaang Mongondow  was optimal The results showed that the process of adoption of cattle ranchers in Sangkub sub-district North of Bolaang Mongondow  regency is varied from respondents who do not know about farming technology, have tried and already apply. And the role of extensionists have and influence on the dicision of farmers in the adoption of farm technology innovation in Sangkub sub-district.Keywords : The role of extensionists, Adoption process, Decision – making

Abstract

ABSTRACT BEEF CATTLE FARMER GROUP DYNAMICS LM3 DISTRICT IN THE VILLAGE PINAPALANGKOW SULUUN TARERAN. The role of the community is  very large in livestock development, thereby fostering community institutions farmers through farmer groups need to be improved. State farmer group members can affect group dynamics through indicators dynamics. The formation of farmer group dynamics is expected to improve income and the welfare of each member of the farmer group. This study aimed to analyze the dynamics of the relationship with the farmer group operating revenues cattle farmer groups LM3 Model Anugerah in the village of Pinapalangkow in Sub District of Suluun Tareran. The study used a survey method, with sampling method is total sampling. Person correlation analysis results obtainedrcount of 0.67  of 0.67 which shows there is a relationship between the dynamics and the income of the group members rcount value shows the relationship between the dynamics and the income of the group is a positive relationship, which means that the higher the income the higher the lead group dynamics. The test results showed a statistically significant effect on the dynamics of income groups at the 95% confidence level . Keywords: Dynamics, Farmer Group,Income, Cattle

Abstract

ANALYSIS OF CATTLE FARMERS PERCEPTION ON THE ROLE OF EXTENSION AGENTS IN SANGKUB DISTRICT NORTH OF BOLAANG MONGONDOW  REGENCY. There are about 596 cattle farmers in Sangkub county North of Bolaang Mongondow Regency.  Two hundreds and ten farmers from them are being corporated in 21 farmer groups. From those twenty one farmers, seven farmer groups that are actively categorized in farming operation, while others are considered inactive anymore. The reason for that might be due to the lack of capital or farm management misconduct, or the lack of knowledge in the value of cattle farming. The present study was designed to elaborate the perception of cattle farmers on the role of extension agents in Sangkub County North ofBolaang Mongondow  Regency.            The research was conducted in a descriptive method that delineated phenomenon of research variables. Cattle farmers group samples were choosen purposely and finally farmers in the village of Tombolango Induk, Busisingo, and Sangkub II were included in the study. All of thirty cattle farmers were  taken as samples. Variables measurement were conducted using ‘Likert Scale’ and scoring at each indicator.            Research results showed that perception of cattle farmers on the role of extension agents in Sangkub County North  of Bolaang Mongondow  Regency can be rated as follow: in term of extension agents as facilitator: 96.67% good, 3.33% very good; extension agents as mediator: 83.33% good enough (fair), 3.33% good; extension egents as motivator: 83.33% good enough (fair), 16.67% very good; extension agents as educator: 93.33% good, 6.67% very good; extension agents as communicator: 100% good.  Overall, it can be concluded that perception of cattle farmers on the role of extension agents in Sangkub County of Bolaang Mongondow Utara Regency rated 93.33% as good and 6.67% as very good. Keywords: Perception,Cattle Farmers, Extension Agents, North of Bolaang Mogondow  Regency

Abstract

ABSTRACT PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF THE FIELD FARM EDUCATOR IN PINELENG DISTRICT PINELENG OF MINAHASA REGENCY. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance of field farm educator and to know the success of the field farm educator at Pineleng district of Minahasa regency. Respondents were applied by survey method at 1 supervisor, 4 field farm educators and 30 selected  farmers as targets of counseling. Data were collected by interview, observation and documentation. Sources of data were including primary data in the form of extension internal program, age, education, experience, and the number of dependent family. External extension factors were involving  infrastruc-ture, government policies, the intensity of illumination, and the distance of field farm educator residence. The second primary data were taken regarding the indicators of appraisal extension educator office. Secondary data were obtained from agencies associated with this study, such as the BP3K office of the Pineleng district and Pineleng district office. Data analysis was using qualitative deskriprif. The analysis showed that the internal and external factors affecting one to each other of the performance of the field farm extension of educators. Extension performance appraisal done by superiors to field farm educator assessment itself indicated good category. This good category indicated that from nine assessment indicators, seven of them were done by field farm educators. Field farm educators were not optimal in doing extension because the compiled program did not reach the target. In conclusion internal and external factors influencing the extension performance of field farm educators, in the judgment of superiors are in accordance with the duties and functions of each field farm educator. On the basis of this study, the result of the extension was not optimal because more farmers did not participate and achieve in extension and the planned program objectives of the field farm educators.

Abstract

ANALYSIS OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF EDUCATOR WITH EXTENSION IN THE DISTRICT MINAHASA. Extension workers has a strategic role in improving the welfare of farmers / ranchers. One of the factors that influence the success of the extension duties is the state socio-economic background or socio-economic characteristics of each extension. However, the extent of the relationship between socioeconomic characteristics with the implementation of the extension in Minahasa unknown. Based on these problems, the purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of these characteristics with the execution of tasks with good extension. This study uses survey data collection on respondents extension and analyzed descriptively. The collected data are presented in tables cross between variables (education and experience) were observed and analyzed by looking at the distribution Trends. The results showed that the factor of higher education Bachelor (S1) tend to be better than not on the Bachelor in execution of duty. On the other hand experience of long-serving and who have served a long time showed relatively recent trend duty (< 20 years) is better than the longtime (> 20 years). As a conclusion that the social and economic characteristics based on the educational background related to the implementation of the tasks.
