Abstract

Karies gigi adalah penyakit yang banyak dialami oleh masyarakat, yang terbentuk karena penumpukan plak pada gigi dan adanya bakteri, bakteri yang diketahui terlibat dalam pembentukan karies gigi adalah Streptococcus viridans. Selama ini karies gigi diobati menggunakan antibiotik. Bakteri tersebut diketahui telah resisten terhadap banyak antibiotik sehingga perlu mencari bahan alam alternatif lainnya. Salah satu pilihan alternatif lainnya sebagai antibakteri yaitu buah mengkudu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi senyawa fitokimia yang terkandung dalam mengkudu dan mengetahui mekanisme aksinya dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Streptococccus viridans. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode studi literatur. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian terdahulu terkait dengan daya hambat perasan buah mengkudu terhadap pertumbuhan Streptococcus viridans didapatkan hasil pada literatur satu konsentrasi 5% dengan pertumbuhan koloni yang banyak 124 koloni dan konsentrasi 10% dengan pertumbuhan koloni yang rendah 65 koloni, literatur kedua dengan diameter kecil pada konsentrasi 20% yaiu 5 mm dan diameter besar pada konsentrasi 80% dan 50% yaitu 6 mm. Pada literatur ketiga menggunakan satu konsentrasi yaitu 100% dengan diamter zona hambat 20,41 mm. Literatur keempat diameter zona hambat terkecil pada konsentrasi 40% yaitu 9,62 mm dan diameter zona hambat terbesar pada konsentrasi 80% yaitu 11,4 mm. Kemudian pada literatur kelima diameter terkecil 5% sudah terbentuk zona hambat 7,87 mm dan konsentrasi tertinggi 50% yaitu 12,13 mm. Dari lima literatur yang telah di telaah dapat disimpulkan bahwa buah mengkudu yang diperas maupun diekstrak dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri gram positif maupun gram negatif.

Abstract

Glukosa urine merupakan adanya glukosa didalam urine yang disebabkan oleh tingginya kadar glukosa di dalam darah (hiperglikemia) sehingga keluar bersamaan dengan urine yang dipengaruhi oleh fungsi ginjal yang kurang baik. Kebiasaan merokok dengan menghirup nikotin dapat meningkatkan radikal bebas di dalam tubuh yang dapat mengganggu kerja insulin dan merusak sel beta pancreas. Kadar nikotin yang banyak pada manusia akan berpengaruh merangsang pelepasan hormon kortisol. Hormon kortisol merupakan hormon antagonis insulin yang memicu terjadinya pemecahan glukosa secara terus menerus, hal ini dapat menyebabkan kerja insulin menjadi terganggu sehingga mengakibatkan adanya glukosa urine. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran glukosa urine pada perokok aktif di RT. 05 RW. 04 Kelurahan Sidomulyo Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode carik celup. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari 30 sampel didapatkan sebanyak 5 responden (16,7%) negatif glukosa urine, 11 responden (36,7%) ±(100 mg/dL) glukosa urine, 6 responden (20%) positif +(250 mg/dL) glukosa urine, 8 responden (26,7%) positif ++(500 mg/dL) glukosa urine. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 5 responden dengan kadar glukosa urine normal dan sebnayak 25 responden dengan kadar glukosa urine lebih dari normal.

Abstract

Borax is an ingredient known to the pharmaceutical industry as a medicinal ingredient such as ointments, powders, compress solutions, oral ointments and eye washes. Borax is also a wood preservative and wood antiseptic. If borax is found in food, in the long term it will accumulate in the brain, liver, fat and kidneys. Use in large amounts can cause fever, depression, kidney damage, decreased appetite, indigestion, stupidity, confusion, skin inflammation, anemia, seizures, fainting and even death. The dangers of borax for the human body are widely known by the general public, however, not many people know how to detect it. Turmeric (Curcuma longa Linn) is a natural food coloring agent. The content of turmeric compounds consists of curcuminoids, bisdesmetoksicurcumen. To prove that turmeric can be used to detect the borax content in food, it is necessary to test. This study aims to determine whether turmeric can be used to detect borax in foodstuffs circulating in Pekanbaru traditional markets. This research is based on the nature of the problem is experimental, the research design used is a parallel design with matching. The sampling method used is purposive. Turmeric can be used as a test material for the presence of borax in food. Based on the qualitative test using three methods, it was found that there were several positive and negative samples and the three methods showed the same identification results.Keywords:  Tumeric, Borax, Food

Abstract

Hemoglobin is a protein that binds oxygen, carbon dioxide and protons. The function of hemoglobin is to transport oxygen from the lungs throughout the body and gives color to red blood cells. Factors triggering a decrease in hemoglobin levels are unhealthy eating patterns and pregnancy. During pregnancy, a woman contains an embryo, which starts from the embryo is formed until the fetus is born. Physical changes in pregnant women, such as body weight, also change in body attitude. Pregnant women also experience fatigue, so sleep is very important. The purpose of this study was to determine hemoglobin levels in pregnant women at Annisa Pekanbaru Hospital based on sleep quality. Using cross sectional method. Using 33 pregnant women respondents with poor sleep quality totaling 22 people and good quality totaling 11 people. The hemoglobin level of pregnant women is in the range of 9.0 – 11.7 g/dL. The conclusion that can be drawn is that pregnant women with good sleep quality have an average hemoglobin level of 10.3 g/dl, while pregnant women with poor sleep quality have an average hemoglobin level of 9.4 g/dL.

Abstract

Cinnamon (Cinnamomun burmanii BI) can treat diabetes mellitus because it contains flavonoid compounds. The efficacy of flavonoids has been widely studied and scientifically proven to have a significant effect on lowering blood sugar levels. This study aims to determine the effect of steeping cinnamon powder (Cinnamomun Burmanii BI) on decreasing blood glucose levels while. The method used is pre and post sampling method. The results of research that have been conducted on the effect of steeping cinnamon powder (Cinnamomun burmani BI) on blood glucose reduction while at the PUSTU Cinta Damai Village, Tapung Hilir District, Kampar Regency, which was given for 14 days, the average blood glucose results before giving cinnamon powder steeping (Cinnamomum burmani BI) was 500.90 mg/dL and after infusion of cinnamon powder (Cinnamomun burmani BI) was 448.40 mg/dL. The average difference in blood glucose before and after the administration of cinnamon powder (Cinnamomun burmani BI) was 52,500 mg/dL. The results of the dependent paired t test (t test) obtained a P-value of 0.000 (P-value <0.05), this means that statistically there is an effect of steeping cinnamon powder (Cinnamomun burmani BI) on decreasing blood glucose while at PUSTU Cinta Damai Village, District Tapung Hilir, Kampar Regency.

Abstract

Coffee is a drink with a very high polyphenol content. The polyphenols in coffee are very rich in caffeoylquinic acids, feruloyquinic acids, and dicaffeoylquinic acids. The most abundant polyphenolic compound in coffee is cholorogenic acid. Based on the results of research conducted by respondents, coffee consumption in the long term can increase cholesterol levels in the body. The purpose of this study was to determine cholesterol levels in coffee drinkers in the Teluk Air sub-district, Karimun District. This type of research is using a descriptive method that provides an objective picture. The results showed that of the 30 respondents, respondents who were female with high results were 8 respondents and normal respondents were 7 respondents, respondents who were male with high results were 7 respondents and normal results were 8 respondents.

Abstract

Proteinuria is the presence of protein in human urine that exceeds the normal value, which is more than 150 mg 24 hours or in children more than 140 mg m². Proteinuria is also a sign of kidney damage and acts as a sign of cardiovascular mortality risk and a predictor of progression of kidney disease. measuring the presence of protein content in urine where the administration of acetic acid can die to reach the protein isoelectric point, with heating it causes denaturation and precipitation occurs Lemon (citrus limon) is a plant that has benefits as a natural antioxidant latena contains vitamin C acetic acid, essential oils, coumarins from this study to determine the effectiveness of lemon juice solution (Curus limon) as an alternative urine protein reagent with concentrations of 20% 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% The method used in this study was experimental. obtained is 3 at a concentration of 20%, 40% and 60%, 80%, and 100%. The conclusion of this study is that a solution of lemon juice (Cruz ammon) with a concentration of 20%, 40%, 60, 80%, and 100% is effective as alternative reagent for proteinuria.

Abstract

Carry on age is someone who has reach age 60 (six twenty) years to on. Along with walking time, a frequent problem faced by the elderly that is happen decline various function from body organs. One of the organs affected changes in the elderly is kidney. Urine as product metabolism pwn content various existing subtances no needed again by the body. Existence still substance useful for body in urine signifies exists error function kidney in work as a filter. One of still substance useful for frequent body there is in urine is protein. Study this aim for know picture of protein in urine in the elderly at the Community Health Center Umban Sari Pekanbaru use method 6% acid. Study this is study descriptive where study done for know description urine protein result with method sour acetate 6%. Based on results study is known that there were 23 respondents (76%) urine protein negative, 5 respondents (17%) urine protein positive (+), and 2 respondents (7%) urine protein positive (++). Conclusion of the research that has been done that amount sample negative more lots than positive.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by increased glucose levels in the blood. Physical activity is one of the factors that can help control fasting blood glucose levels. This study aims to find out the description of fasting blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus based on physical activity. This study uses a quantitative descriptive design with a cross sectional approach. The results showed that 15 respondents (38.5%) had controlled fasting blood glucose levels (≤126 mg/dL), while 24 respondents (61.5%) had controlled blood glucose levels (126 mg/dL). The average fasting blood glucose level of all respondents was 173 mg/dL. Based on physical activity levels, 11 respondents (28.2%) had moderate physical activity (600-3000 METs) and 28 respondents (71.8%) had high physical activity (3000 METs). The conclusion of this study is that the majority of respondents have high physical activity, but blood glucose levels remain largely uncontrolled. This shows that physical activity alone is not enough to control blood glucose levels without thorough management such as diet, medical therapy, and other healthy lifestyles.Keywords: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Fasting Blood Glucose, Physical Activity

Abstract

Resistensi pedikulosida sintetik dan efek sampingnya mendorong pencarian alternatif alami. Ekstrak etanol kulit duku (Lansium domesticum) telah diteliti, namun ekstraksi etil asetat untuk optimalisasi senyawa bioaktif triterpenoid belum dieksplorasi. Tujuan: Menentukan nilai LC₅₀ ekstrak etil asetat kulit duku terhadap telur, nimfa, dan dewasa Pediculus humanus capitis. Metode: Eksperimen laboratorium dengan desain post-test only control group. Sampel (telur=45, nimfa=15, dewasa=15 per konsentrasi) diambil dari panti asuhan Pekanbaru. Perlakuan konsentrasi 10%, 15%, 20% selama 1 jam dengan kontrol positif (Peditox®) dan negatif (DMSO-aquadest). Analisis statistik menggunakan ANOVA dan uji Tukey (p<0,01). Hasil: Mortalitas tertinggi pada konsentrasi 20%: inaktivasi telur 91,11% (LC₅₀=8,5%), mortalitas nimfa 80% (LC₅₀=13,2%), mortalitas dewasa 66,67% (LC₅₀=18,7%). Perbedaan signifikan vs. kontrol (p=0,007) dan ekstrak etanol sebelumnya (p=0,002). Kesimpulan: Ekstrak etil asetat kulit duku efektif sebagai pedikulosida alami, dengan keunggulan 35,7% pada fase telur vs. ekstrak etanol. Optimalisasi pelarut ini berpotensi menjadi strategi penanggulangan resistensi kutu rambut.   Resistance to synthetic pediculicides and their side effects have prompted the search for natural alternatives. Ethanol extracts of duku peel (Lansium domesticum) have been studied, but ethyl acetate extraction for the optimization of triterpenoid bioactive compounds has not yet been explored. Objective: To determine the LC₅₀ value of ethyl acetate extract of duku peel against eggs, nymphs, and adults of Pediculus humanus capitis. Methods: Laboratory experiment with a post-test only control group design. Samples (eggs=45, nymphs=15, adults=15 per concentration) were collected from an orphanage in Pekanbaru. Treatments at concentrations of 10%, 15%, and 20% for 1 hour with positive control (Peditox®) and negative control (DMSO-aquadest). Statistical analysis using ANOVA and Tukey's test (p<0.01). Results: The highest mortality was observed at a concentration of 20%: egg inactivation 91.11% (LC₅₀=8.5%), nymph mortality 80% (LC₅₀=13.2%), adult mortality 66.67% (LC₅₀=18.7%). Significant differences compared to the control (p=0.007) and the previous ethanol extract (p=0.002). Conclusion: Ethyl acetate extract of duku peel is effective as a natural pediculicide, with a 35.7% advantage in the egg stage compared to the ethanol extract. Optimization of this solvent has the potential to become a strategy for addressing head lice resistance.
