Abstract

There are crab species that live in the forest and supratidal areas, on sandy, rocky, and muddy coastal areas. The aim of this research is to identify the morphology, of meristic crabs and the effect of the moon phase on species diversity. Sampling locations were on the coast of Pondang Village and Lopana Village, sampling using the roaming method and carried out at the two lowest low tide phases during the dead moon and full moon phases, during the lowest low tide crabs were generally found with walking legs. Based on the identification of the morphology of crabs found on the coast of Pondang Village and Lopana Village, East Amurang District, South Minahasa Regency, there are six species of them Ocypode ceratophthalmus (Stimpson, 1858), Grapsus albolineatus (Latreille in Milbert, 1892), Eriphia sebana (Shaw and Nodder, 1803), Atergatis floridus (Linnaeus, 1767), Pilumnus vespertilio (Fabricius, 1793), Episesarma mederi (Edwards, 1853). Keywords: Coastal; Habitat; Crabs; Morphology; meristic AbstrakTerdapat jenis kepiting yang hidup di daerah hutan dan supratidal, di daerah pesisir pantai berpasir, berbatu dan berlumpur. Tujuan penelitian mengidentifikasi secara morfologi, meristik kepiting dan pengaruh fase bulan terhadap keanekaragaman spesies. Lokasi pengambilan sampel di pesisir pantai Kelurahan Pondang dan Desa Lopana, pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode jelajah serta dilakukan pada dua fase surut terendah saat fase bulan mati dan purnama, saat surut terendah umumnya dijumpai kepiting yang memiliki kaki jalan. Berdasarkan identifikasi morfologi kepiting yang ditemukan di pesisir pantai Kelurahan Pondang dan Desa Lopana, Kecamatan Amurang Timur, Kabupaten Minahasa Selatan, terdapat enam spesies antaranya Ocypode ceratophthalmus (Stimpson, 1858), Grapsus albolineatus (Latreille dalam Milbert,1892), Eriphia sebana (Shaw dan Nodder, 1803), Atergatis floridus  (Linnaeus, 1767), Pilumnus vespertilio (Fabricius, 1793), Episesarma mederi (Edwards, 1853). Kata Kunci : Pesisir; Habitat; Kepiting; Morfologi; Meristik

Abstract

Abstract The waters around Nain Island have quite a lot of biological resources. One of the resources in these waters is the halfbeak Hemiramphus lutkei. This study aims to determine the relationship between length-weight and reproduction of the halfbeak Hemiramphus lutkei. The length-weight relationship, growth patterns and condition factors. Reproduction includes sex ratio, gonadal maturity level, gonadal maturity index and fecundity. Fish sampling were taken from the catches of fishermen. The number of samples required is 200, the samples are taken twice in two months from June-July. The length-weight relationship of male was W= 0.1705L1.8204 negative allometric growth pattern and female fish W = 0.0572L2.1962 negative allometric growth pattern. The condition factor of male and female where 0.98 ± 0.06 and 1.03 ± 0.07 respectively. The sex ratio of male and female (1: 0.835). The gonad maturity level of male (immature, developing, mature, ripe and spent) was found in June and female (immature, developing, mature, ripe and spent) found in June and July. The fecundity of ranged from 923 – 3,578 eggs with an average of 1,899 ± 666. Keywords: Length-weight, growth patterns, gonad, fekundity ABSTRAK Perairan Sekitar Pulau Nain ialah perairan yang memiliki cukup banyak sumberdaya hayatinya. Salah satu sumberdaya yang berada di perairan tersebut yaitu, ikan julungjulung Hemiramphus lutkei. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan panjang-berat dan reproduksi ikan julungjulung Hemiramphus lutkei. Hubungan panjang-berat meliputi pola pertumbuhan dan faktor kondisi. Reproduksi meliputi rasio kelamin, tingkat kematangan gonad, indeks kematangan gonad dan fekunditas. Lokasi pengambilan sampel ikan diambil di perairan sekitar Pulau Nain dan sampel diambil dari hasil tangkapan nelayan. Jumlah sampel yang diperlukan sebanyak 200 ekor, sampel diambil sebanyak dua kali dalam dua bulan dari Juni-Juli. Hubungan panjang-berat ikan julungjulung jantan yaitu W= 0,1705L1,8204 pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatif. Ikan julungjulung betina W = 0,0572L2,1962 pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatif. Faktor kondisi ikan julungjulung jantan dan betina bernilai 0,98 ± 0,06 dan 1,03 ± 0,07. Rasio kelamin ikan julungjulung jantan dan betina (1:0,835). Tingkat kematangan gonad ikan julungjulung jantan (I, II, III, IV dan V) ditemukan pada setiap bulan Juni. Tingkat kematangan gonad ikan julungjulung betina (I, II, III, IV dan V) ditemukan pada setiap sampel pada bulan Juni maupun Juli. Fekunditas ikan julungjulung berkisar antara 923 – 3.578 butir dengan rata-rata 1.899 ± 666. Kata Kunci: Panjang-berat, pola pertumbuhan, gonad, fekunditas

Abstract

Research on the diversity of algae types and their abundance in Meras waters has been carried out using structured line transect sampling and quadrant placement methods. The result is a diversity of algae types with a Shannon index (H') above 1.75. This shows that the diversity of algae types is moderate where water conditions are still good enough for algae growth. This is reinforced by the results of analysis of the structure of algal cells using TEM which found the presence of Floridian starch as evidence of the photosynthesis process taking place in these waters. When algae to grow and develop will carry out the process of photosynthesis. There were 9 species of algae found spread across 3 classes, namely 3 species of Chlorophyceae, 4 species of Phaeophyceae, and 3 species of Rhodophyceae. The results of the analysis of species abundance in these waters show that the algae species Gracilaria edulis is the most abundant, namely 7.6 individuals/m2, while the relative abundance is 0.28. The results of the analysis of photosynthetic pigments in the algae Gracilaria edulis were chlorophyll a, namely 359.335 µg, chlorophyll d 47.385 µg, and 1627.75 µg of carotene pigment. This algae pigment can be used as a raw material in the food (nutrification) and pharmaceutical industries. Keywords: Diversity of algae types, pigments, and cell structure Abstrak Penelitian Keanekaragaman jenis alga dan kelimpahannya  di perairan Meras telah dilakukan  dengan metode  pengambilan sampel line transek dan peletakan kuadran secara terstruktur. Hasilnya adalah keanekaragaman jenis alga dengan index Shannon (H’) berada di atas 1,75 Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa keanekaragaman jenis alga sedang dimana kondisi perairan masih cukup baik untuk pertumbuhan alga. Hal ini diperkuat dengan hasil analisis struktur sel alga menggunakan TEM ditemukan adanya  floridean starch bukti adanya berlangsung proses fotosintesis di perairan tersebut. Dimana alga untuk tumbuh dan berkembang akan melakukan  proses fotosintesis. Spesies alga yang ditemukan sebanyak 9 spesies yang tersebar dalam 3 kelas yaitu Chlorophyceae 3 spesies, Phaeophyceae  4 spesies dan 3 spesies Rhodophyceae. Hasil analisis kelimpahan spesies di perairan tersebut  menunjukkan bahwa spesies alga Gracilaria edulis paling melimpah yaitu 7,6 individu/m2 sedangkan kelimpahan relatifnya adalah 0,28. Hasil analisis pigmen fotosintesis  pada alga Gracilaria edulis adalah klorofil a yaitu 359,335 µg,  klorofil d 47,385 µg dan 1627,75 µg pigmen karoten. Pigmen alga ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku dalam industri makanan (nutrifikasi) dan farmasetika. Kata kunci : Keanekaragaman jenis alga, pigmen, dan struktur sel.
