Abstract

The film, which was produced in 2018 and written by Garin Nugroho, won an award at the 75th Venice International Film Festival. In Indonesia, this film won 9 awards at film festivals. The existence of this film gets a lot of controversy in Indonesia, because of the LGBT issue. This study uses a communication semiotics approach with the Rolland Barthes method. Qualitative research methods with an interpretive paradigm are the basis for this research. The dominant eastern Javanese cultural value in this film is the cultural tradition of the lengger dancer. Juno as the main character in this film is interested in becoming a lengger dancer which is then opposed by the surrounding community, this is because the main character is a man. The inspiration for this film came from a choreographer who blended the lengger culture in East Java.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine what the communication network structure is like at the stakeholder level when reporting on COVID-19 vaccination via the social media Twitter. This research method uses descriptive and quantitative data analysis techniques for social network analysis by running data collection techniques via netlytic.org and analyzing using gephi 0.9.2 software. The theory used in this study is computer-mediated communication theory. As a result, it turns out that the six attackers I contacted the most were @assumco, @ismailfahmi, @kimberley20101, @polisi_jatim, @kompascom, and @kemenkesRI. This means that the @assumco account is the most mentioned attacker in his Covid-19 vaccination news from @kemenkesRI Twitter account. Closenness Centrality has 568 perfectly positioned actors with a score of 1.0. In other words, a perfect score indicates that attackers find it easy to spread information over the network. For Eigenvector Centrality, the @kemenkesRI account has a score of 1.0. According to the Ministry of Health account, it can be concluded that this he is the opinion leader who provides the most accurate and reliable information on Covid-19 vaccination and is the most powerful and most popular player.

Abstract

In today’s digital era, social media has become a new space for individuals to develop their personal creativity. This study analyzes the content strategy of the TikTok account @buiramira in building audience engagement and understanding the impact it has on the account’s image. The background of this research stems from the phenomenon of increasing social media usage, particularly TikTok, as a means of communication, entertainment, and promotional media. Using McGuire’s information processing theory, the study finds that followers’ perceptions of the TikTok account @buiramira as a source of information for thesis learning are very positive, making it suitable as a learning platform. The content presented not only provides technical knowledge but also shapes students’ attitudes and behaviors in facing the thesis process.This research employs a descriptive qualitative method  with data collection techniques including content observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the @buiramira account successfully builds strong interaction with its audience through consistent uploads, the use of a communication style that feels close to viewers, and the utilization of current trends. In addition, the study finds that audience engagement is strongly influenced by a combination of content creativity, relevant topic selection, and the account owner’s ability to maintain emotional closeness with followers. These findings emphasize the importance of well-planned digital communication strategies in managing social media accounts, so that they can provide benefits both personally and professionally.
