Abstract

This study aims to determine the effects of domestic sugar production, population size, and international sugar prices on sugar imports in Indonesia. This study employs a quantitative approach using secondary time-series data sourced from the BPS, the Directorate General of Plantations, Worldometer, and the World Bank, covering the period from 1994 to 2024. The data analysis technique used in this study is multiple linear regression, processed using the E-Views 12 software. The results of this study indicate that domestic sugar production has a negative but insignificant effect on sugar imports in Indonesia. Population size has a positive and significant effect on sugar imports in Indonesia. International sugar prices have a negative but insignificant effect on sugar imports in Indonesia.

Abstract

This quantitative correlational study with a cross-sectional approach analyzes the phenomenon of high demand for K-Pop concert tickets in Jakarta despite financial barriers such as price spikes and limited income. Conducted from June 11 to 13, 2026, the study aims to examine the relationships among variables within the NCTzen population, which constitutes the target market for the Dream Show 4 concert in Jakarta. The sample was determined using “purposive sampling”; primary data was collected via an online questionnaire, while secondary data was obtained from official publications by the BPS, and news media. All respondents were women of working age in the Greater Jakarta area employed as lower-middle-class workers. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics, instrument validation, and tests of classical assumptions. The results of the descriptive analysis revealed that the influence of the Bandwagon Effect was classified as low, while the level of ticket demand fell into the high category. This study concludes that price has a significant and direct effect on demand due to the Veblen Effect. Conversely, the income variable and the Bandwagon Effect do not have a significant impact. Ticket-purchasing decisions are driven by strong individual internal motivations for social status rather than environmental trends or income levels.

Abstract

This study analyzes the determinants of nickel exports in Indonesia before and after the implementation of the export ban policy. Using time series data from 2014 to 2025 (48 quarterly observations), this research employs multiple linear regression analysis with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method and Newey-West Heteroskedasticity and Autocorrelation Consistent (HAC) standard errors to address autocorrelation issues. The dependent variable is nickel export value, while the independent variables are capital goods (proxied by mining machinery imports), exchange rate (USD/IDR), and the export ban policy as a dummy variable. The results show that the exchange rate has a positive and significant effect on nickel exports (t-statistic = 4.789; p = 0.000), and the export ban policy has a positive and significant effect (t-statistic = 3.254; p = 0.002). However, capital goods do not have a significant effect on nickel exports (t-statistic = -0.230; p = 0.819). The adjusted R-squared value of 85.53% indicates that the three independent variables explain most of the variation in nickel exports. These findings confirm that exchange rate depreciation and downstreaming policies are key drivers of Indonesia's nickel export performance, while upstream mining machinery imports have not yet contributed significantly to export growth

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of interest rates, exchange rates, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), and the Nikkei 225 on the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) in Indonesia during 2017–2025. Using quantitative approach with 108 monthly time series observations, the analysis employs multiple linear regression with Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) corrected using Newey-West HAC Standard Errors to address autocorrelation. The results show that interest rates have a positive and significant effect on the IHSG (t = 4.347; p = 0.000), while exchange rates have a negative and significant effect (t = -5.163; p = 0.000). The DJIA has no significant effect on the IHSG (t = -1.046; p = 0.298), indicating domestic factors play a more dominant role. The Nikkei 225 has a positive and significant effect (t = 14.093; p = 0.000), confirming strong linkages between Indonesian and Japanese capital markets. The adjusted R-squared of 88.29% indicates that the four independent variables explain 88.29% of IHSG movements. These findings confirm that domestic factors such as interest rates and exchange rates, as well as regional factors such as the Nikkei 225, have a more dominant role in influencing IHSG movements compared to global factors such as the DJIA.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the impact of the mining sector’s contribution and Average Years of Schooling (AYS) on the growth of Regional Gross Domestic Product (RGDP), as well as the impact of the mining sector’s contribution and Local Revenue (PAD) on the Human Development (IPM). This quantitative study employs multiple linear regression on panel data (a combination of time series from 2011–2024 and cross-sectional data) across eight mining-producing provinces in Indonesia selected through a purposive sampling technique. Secondary data were sourced from official publications of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Directorate General of Budget and State Financial Management (DJPK) of the Ministry of Finance. The results indicate that the mining sector’s contribution has a positive and significant effect on GRDP growth; thus, no evidence of the resource curse was found in the context of economic growth. However, the mining sector’s contribution exhibits a negative and insignificant effect on the Human Development Index (HDI), indicating a tendency toward the “resource curse” phenomenon, as the economic benefits of mining have not yet been optimally converted into public welfare. On the other hand, RLS is found to have a positive and significant effect on GRDP growth, consistent with human capital theory. Local Revenue (PAD) also has a positive and significant effect on the Human Development Index (HDI), confirming that public welfare is greatly influenced by the effectiveness of local governments in managing fiscal capacity for public services, rather than relying solely on mining revenues.
