Abstract

The problem of socio-economic life towards poverty and trafficking has become a social disease of the community. It needs to get a serious concern because poverty is a complex problem involving various aspects such as the right to get food, health, education, and employment. Those aspects can trigger woman trafficking. The woman trafficking issue is actually not a new thing, but until the present, it still becomes a public concern, especially for the government officials who are often bothered by the actions of irresponsible people who incidentally take advantage of the poor economic conditions of the community. Based on these problems, this research focused on the phenomenon of socio-economic problems of the poor and woman trafficking. The method used was descriptive with secondary data which was then analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that in trafficking cases, the women were forced to be sex workers in other areas, international workers disguised themselves as dancers, and so on. A lot of girls became the victims of deception by criminals and became slaves in modern times. Efforts have been made by both the central and regional governments through exclamations and regulations in Regional Regulations on the prevention and control of human trafficking, especially woman trafficking, as well as organizations such as Non-Governmental Organizations, gender awareness, Information Center for Women's Protection, Bureau of Women's Empowerment, through seminars and workshops which resulted in a recommendation for regulations to protect girls and women.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the potential for implementing a circular economy in waste management in Tomohon City as an effort to support the transition toward a green economy. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using field observation, in-depth interviews with environmental and economic actors, and policy document analysis. The research was conducted in strategic locations such as the Final Disposal Site (TPA), traditional markets, waste banks, and tourist destinations that serve as centers of community activity and tourism. Findings show that the current waste management system in Tomohon still follows a linear model, resulting in significant environmental pressures. However, local initiatives such as plastic recycling by MSMEs, organic composting, and active participation in waste banks provide early indications of successful circular practices. Nevertheless, scalability and integration of these models into the regional economy remain limited due to infrastructure constraints, technical capacity, and weak policy coordination. Based on these findings, recommendations include the need for investment in waste processing infrastructure, institutional strengthening of waste banks, formulation of local policies oriented toward circular economy principles, and increased community participation through education and economic incentives. With the implementation of these recommendations, Tomohon has the potential to become a model for sustainable waste management based on the circular economy in Indonesia’s mountainous urban regions.

Abstract

The implementation of Green Economy Instruments (GEI) is crucial for achieving Sustainable Natural Resource Management (SNRM), particularly in agrarian regions facing environmental degradation. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of GEI, including carbon tax, emission trading system, renewable energy subsidies, and fiscal incentives, in promoting SNRM among farming business actors in Tomohon, North Sulawesi. A quantitative approach was employed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Smart PLS 4.0, based on survey data from 500 respondents. The results indicate that most GEI dimensions have a positive influence on SNRM, with an R² value of 0.847. Fiscal Policy Instruments (FPI) and Environmental Regulations (ERS) showed the most substantial impact. At the same time, Carbon Tax (CT) and Sustainable Financing (SF) exhibited significant but negative relationships, suggesting potential misalignment between policy design and local perception. This research presents a new conceptual framework “Policy Effectiveness in Agrarian Settings” emphasizing that the success of GEI depends on perceived benefits, accessibility, and visible outcomes. The findings offer practical implications for regional policymakers, highlighting the importance of targeted fiscal support, clear regulations, and enhanced communication to promote the adoption of green policies. Additionally, this study fills a gap by providing empirical insights into the application of GEI outside urban or industrial contexts, thereby supporting the achievement of SDG 12, SDG 13, and SDG 15. Future studies should explore longitudinal effects and stakeholder perceptions through qualitative methods to deepen understanding of policy barriers and opportunities.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the digital payment adoption on the business performance of the tourism micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Likupang Special Economic Zone of Indonesia. Using a combination of the Technology Acceptance Model, the Resource-Based View, Dynamic Capability Theory, and Institutional Theory, the study examines survey data from 284 MSMEs and 18 stakeholder interviews. Results show that perceived usefulness and ease of use are essential factors for adoption. In addition, the greater the adoption of digital payments within the organization, the stronger the organizational capabilities (β = 0.41), which positively affect competitive advantage (β = 0.38) and, subsequently, business performance (β = 0.33). Network reliability, transparent merchant discount rates, and successful onboarding are institutional facilitators that significantly moderate the adoption-performance relationship (β = 0.12, p = 0.009). Sub-sectoral analysis reveals that accommodation and food and beverage have the highest transaction intensity and service integration, enabling substantial benefits, whereas transformations in transport and retail are minimal. The study shows that the strategic value of digital payments can be generated only if they are part of dynamic capacity-building processes and underpinned by facilitating institutional conditions. These understandings refute simplistic assumptions that adoption equals performance and emphasize the necessity of digital inclusion policies that are more tailored and ecosystem-sensitive in emerging tourist economies

The marketing strategy in terms of promotion in order to attract consumer buying interest has not been implemented optimally. The marketing strategy for promotion that does not have a strong effect on consumer buying interest at Okoy Flower Garden can be seen from the regression coefficient of the Consumer Buying Interest value of 0.135.
