Abstract

This research analyzes the factors influencing contractor performance in supporting infrastructure sovereignty in North Sulawesi. The research method uses a quantitative descriptive approach by collecting primary data through questionnaires and structured interviews with contractors involved in infrastructure projects. A cluster sampling technique was used to select samples from various regions in North Sulawesi. Analysis shows that the main factors influencing contractor performance are the availability of capital, competition from similar projects, and the timeliness of client payments. The availability of adequate capital is considered crucial to ensure the smooth implementation of the project. Intense competition compels contractors to lower prices, impacting profit margins and work quality. Timeliness of payments is essential to maintain the contractor's cash flow and financial stability. Other factors, such as changes in government regulations and licensing bureaucracy, also influence performance, but with more variable effects. This research provides recommendations for contractors to strengthen financial management, adapt to competitive pressures, and improve collaboration with stakeholders to ensure the success of infrastructure projects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the stress and mental disorders experienced by the people of North Sulawesi after the 2024 General Election, using a mixed-methods approach that includes quantitative and qualitative data. Through surveys and in-depth interviews, this study explores the phenomenon of Post-Election Disorder Syndrome (PEDS), as well as socio-political factors that contribute to increased stress. The study population consisted of 400 respondents, who were interviewed using stratified random sampling, while purposive sampling was used to interview community leaders and health workers. Stress measurements were carried out using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) questionnaire and in-depth interviews to obtain subjective perspectives of the community. Data analysis used descriptive, inferential, and thematic analysis statistical methods. The results showed that the majority of respondents experienced high levels of stress, with symptoms such as anxiety, sleep disturbances, Difficulty concentrating, and excessive emotional reactions. Social media was also found to have a significant role in exacerbating community stress. This study suggests the need to improve mental health services and public education on managing stress, especially in areas exposed to major political events such as elections. These findings are expected to provide further insight into the psychological impact of post-election in Indonesia.

Abstract

his study investigates integrating Triple Bottom Line (TBL) principles—social, economic, and environmental—into infrastructure planning and evaluation in North Sulawesi through a sequential mixed-methods design. First, a Cost–Benefit Analysis (CBA) estimated Net Present Value (IDR 45.2–85.4 billion), Benefit–Cost Ratio (1.1–1.8), and Internal Rate of Return (9.5 % over 30 years), confirming economic viability. Simultaneously, a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) quantified material-related energy use and CO₂e emissions, while structured surveys and focus-group discussions captured community perceptions of benefit distribution and participation. These quantitative and qualitative insights were synthesized in a Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) employing the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), where twelve experts assigned weights of 0.441 (social), 0.301 (environmental), and 0.258 (economic). Among three strategic alternatives, a low-emission public-private partnership scored highest (0.83) by combining robust stakeholder engagement, recycled-steel use with offset mechanisms, and strong long-term returns; sensitivity analysis (±10 % environmental weight) confirmed its ranking stability. By mapping outcomes to SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), the study demonstrates that a TBL-based framework can simultaneously secure financial performance, advance social equity, and reduce environmental impact. Recommendations include formalizing hybrid financing, enhancing participatory platforms, and incentivizing low-carbon materials.

Abstract

The implementation of Green Economy Instruments (GEI) is crucial for achieving Sustainable Natural Resource Management (SNRM), particularly in agrarian regions facing environmental degradation. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of GEI, including carbon tax, emission trading system, renewable energy subsidies, and fiscal incentives, in promoting SNRM among farming business actors in Tomohon, North Sulawesi. A quantitative approach was employed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Smart PLS 4.0, based on survey data from 500 respondents. The results indicate that most GEI dimensions have a positive influence on SNRM, with an R² value of 0.847. Fiscal Policy Instruments (FPI) and Environmental Regulations (ERS) showed the most substantial impact. At the same time, Carbon Tax (CT) and Sustainable Financing (SF) exhibited significant but negative relationships, suggesting potential misalignment between policy design and local perception. This research presents a new conceptual framework “Policy Effectiveness in Agrarian Settings” emphasizing that the success of GEI depends on perceived benefits, accessibility, and visible outcomes. The findings offer practical implications for regional policymakers, highlighting the importance of targeted fiscal support, clear regulations, and enhanced communication to promote the adoption of green policies. Additionally, this study fills a gap by providing empirical insights into the application of GEI outside urban or industrial contexts, thereby supporting the achievement of SDG 12, SDG 13, and SDG 15. Future studies should explore longitudinal effects and stakeholder perceptions through qualitative methods to deepen understanding of policy barriers and opportunities.

Abstract

This study examines why local churches in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, struggle to translate their theological commitments to justice and creation care into sustained and holistic ministries aligned with sustainability principles. Using a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design, data were gathered from 178 congregants, four focus groups (n=32), and eight key informant interviews across three Protestant churches. The study identifies five issues interrelated like: (1) the gap in the operation; (2) the human resources gap; (3) the financial weakness; (4) the cultural-theological gap; and (5) the underutilized assets.. Critically, these barriers reinforce themselves, creating a self-perpetuating cycle of inertia. The study provides an empirically grounded understanding of faith-based sustainability challenges in the Global South, shifting the discourse from deficit-based to asset-based approaches. It highlights the importance of holistic interventions that simultaneously focus on theological re-education, institutional capacity, and financial innovation. Strategies such as designing stepwise ministry toolkits, establishing minor lay-coordinating roles, creating various funding sources through social enterprises or grants, and redefining ecological and social action as part of the ecclesial identity are among the recommendations. Such findings provide a replicable template for churches worldwide that seek to connect faith and sustainable action in ways that resonate with their cultures

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of the digital payment adoption on the business performance of the tourism micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Likupang Special Economic Zone of Indonesia. Using a combination of the Technology Acceptance Model, the Resource-Based View, Dynamic Capability Theory, and Institutional Theory, the study examines survey data from 284 MSMEs and 18 stakeholder interviews. Results show that perceived usefulness and ease of use are essential factors for adoption. In addition, the greater the adoption of digital payments within the organization, the stronger the organizational capabilities (β = 0.41), which positively affect competitive advantage (β = 0.38) and, subsequently, business performance (β = 0.33). Network reliability, transparent merchant discount rates, and successful onboarding are institutional facilitators that significantly moderate the adoption-performance relationship (β = 0.12, p = 0.009). Sub-sectoral analysis reveals that accommodation and food and beverage have the highest transaction intensity and service integration, enabling substantial benefits, whereas transformations in transport and retail are minimal. The study shows that the strategic value of digital payments can be generated only if they are part of dynamic capacity-building processes and underpinned by facilitating institutional conditions. These understandings refute simplistic assumptions that adoption equals performance and emphasize the necessity of digital inclusion policies that are more tailored and ecosystem-sensitive in emerging tourist economies
