Abstract

The increase in demand for crackers during the Ramadan period requires optimal labor management to keep production efficient. This research aims to determine the optimal number of workers to maximize cracker production. The method used is linear programming with a simplex approach, with data obtained through interviews and processed using MATLAB. The model is formulated with a decision variable in the form of the number of workers at each stage of the production process. The purpose function is formulated to maximize total production by considering capacity constraints, operational time, and labor costs. The results of the study show that the optimal solution is obtained in . The maximum value of the objective function obtained is 80kg/day of production or equivalent to a 300% increase in cost efficiency per kg of Rp333.33. The allocation shows the most efficient distribution of labor in meeting resource limitations. Further research is recommended to consider dynamic demand factors and variations in production capacity.

Abstract

Allocation of class provision in the implementation of moving classes is an important thing that needs to be considered to obtain optimal learning. The problem of optimizing class provision is still an obstacle to most problems in the field of education. One of them occurred in the implementation of moving classes at SMAN 1 Panji, which provided classes based on students' interests and talents. The curriculum deputy has difficulty determining the number of classes provided according to the subjects that students are interested in, to obtain optimal class provision. This study aims to solve the problem of optimizing class provision in the implementation of moving classes for grade 11 at SMAN 1 Panji with the right allocation of student interests in order to obtain optimal results. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method with a case study. Data collection methods include field studies (observation and interviews) and literature reviews. Meanwhile, data analysis uses the simplex method and MATLAB software. Data analysis techniques using observation and interviews. Meanwhile, based on the optimization results, the recommended class solution for the implementation of moving class for grade 11 at SMAN 1 Panji is 24 IPA (Natural Sciences) classes and 16 IPS (Social Sciences) classes. On the other hand, 0 Mathematics and Informatics classes (not required to be provided). Furthermore, by using MATLAB software, the same results are obtained as using the simplex method, but with a simple, effective, and efficient algorithm, of course, with precise results, and the use of this software aims to avoid calculation errors.

Abstract

Mimbaan Village is one of the villages with the highest stunting rate  in Panji District. One way to prevent stunting is by providing Supplementary Feeding (PMT) which is carried out during posyandu activities. However, the funds provided by the government are very limited, so cadres have difficulty in managing the PMT budget with a varied menu. This study aims to optimize  the  PMT menu budget using the simplex method so that all toddlers who participate in posyandu activities get a varied PMT by meeting appropriate nutritional needs. This type of research is a case study where the data collection process is through literature studies, interviews with posyandu cadres, and documentation. The menu chosen is corn porridge and roasted brains, because both have the same main ingredient (tilapia) and have nutritional content that is suitable for toddlers. Based on the results of the calculation of the simplex method, it is known that  the budget for corn porridge is IDR 3,000 and grilled brains 2,500 with a capital of IDR 1,320,000. The results of this study show that the application of the simplex method can help cadres in managing  PMT budgets efficiently, but cadres need to pay attention to the nutritional content needed.

Abstract

“Es Kul-Kul” production business located in a shop called the Muawanah Cooperative, is experiencing difficulty in maximizing profits due to changing consumer demand and challenges in determining the supply of raw materials needed. The owner continues to produce “Es Kul-Kul” based on the average daily consumer order, thereby sacrificing the efficiency of utilizing raw materials and capital. This study aims to analyze production planning to maximize profits from the sale of “Es Kul-Kul” at the Muawanah Cooperative UMKM using the simplex method. The research method employed in this study is a case study, with data analysis and processing conducted using linear programming, specifically the simplex method. The results of the study showed that the optimal production combination consisted of 50 banana-flavored skewers, and 100 strawberry-flavored skewers, with a total profit of IDR 800.000 per day. This approach has succeded in increasing production cost efficiency and optimizing profits, which is relevant for application to other UMKM. Possible further research is research based on optimization problems that occur in the surrounding environment with different methods and more detailed instruments to produce more accurate and realistic research.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize production planning at UMKM Mie Ratu Situbondo, particularly for two main products, namely Mie Ratu Galak and Mie Ratu Ganas, in order to maximize daily profit and reduce inefficiencies in the use of raw materials. The background of this research is the production decision-making process that is still based on estimation, which often leads to suboptimal results and potential waste. The research method used is linear programming with the Simplex method, followed by the Branch and Bound method to obtain integer solutions. Data were collected through observation and interviews with the business owner over a period of more than seven days and were aggregated into daily average values. The analysis was carried out using MATLAB software. The results show that the optimal production combination is 63 portions of Mie Ratu Galak and 67 portions of Mie Ratu Ganas per day, resulting in a maximum profit of Rp1,434,000 per day. Compared to the previous condition, this result indicates an increase in profit and a more efficient allocation of resources. This study provides practical benefits for UMKM actors by offering a systematic and quantitative approach to production planning, which can support better managerial decision-making and improve business performance.
