Abstract

Since its appearance until now, Kenthongan is still exist and its journey has changed its function, from a means of communication to become a folk art. Banyumas is an area that has a lot of bamboo plants as materials for making Kenthongan which has the potential for development. Kenthongan art in Banyumas exists and develops until now. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify and explain the existence of Kenthongan as a folk art in the Banyumas. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with an ethnomusicological approach. Kenthongan as a cultural product (living tradition) has been present as a folk art since its inception, having the form of a slit-drum and developing into a non-slit-drum. The development of the non-slit-drum form is an adaptation of Gambang Calung Banyumas’ blade. Kenthongan non-slit-drum developed in three stages, namely 1) in 2002, 2) in 2005 and 3) in 2013. Its development includes the form and the function of which it was originally a rhythmic instrument in 2002-2005 developed into a melodic instrument in 2013.

Abstract

This study is based on society’s reality about the diversity of musical expressions of the sholawat art which is still ongoing. Therefore, this study aims to identify, analyze, and describe the musical expressions of sholawat art that exist in society in the context of a multicultural society. This study is a qualitative descriptive study with a musicology approach as the main approach. This study used several techniques for data collection, namely interview techniques, document and documentation study techniques, and observation techniques. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using content analysis with the main musicological approach which refers to the concept of composition, harmony, song form, and presentation form. The results show that in a multicultural society, such as Indonesia, there are various kinds of musical expressions of sholawat art. If we look at musicology, the diversity of musical expressions includes several kinds of expressions, which include the variety in characterization, the variety in the scale tradition used, the mixture in the use of song lyrics, and the variety in the technique of using language in composing the lyrics.

Abstract

Gambang Semarang is one of the traditional Indonesian music that grows and develops in the cityof Semarang, Central Java. Gambang Semarang music has an instrument made of wood which is the hallmark of Gambang Semarang music itself, namely Gambang. The Gambang instrument has a variety of distinctive accompaniment patterns that can give nuance to themusic of Gambang Semarang. The purpose of this study was to identify and describe the various patterns of accompaniment of the Gambang instrument in Semarang's Gambang music. The research method used is qualitative with an ethnomusicological approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews, document studies, and Focused Group Discussion. Data analysis was carried out with the stages of data reduction, data classification, and conclusions. The results showed that theaccompaniment pattern of the Gambang instrument in Gambang Semarang music consisted of an accompaniment pattern of gembyang nglagu oktaf, and a garap cengkok ajeg pattern. Each accompaniment pattern of the Gambang instrument involves a series of tones according to its seleh. Due to the influence of the melody of the main song, the accompaniment pattern of gembyang nglagu octaf and the accompaniment pattern of garap cengkok ajeg has six selehs, namely seleh do, seleh re, seleh mi, seleh sol, and seleh la.

Abstract

With the popularity of music and indie bands today, it turns out there are still a lot of people who don't know what an indie is and who can't tell it from the folk genre. The study therefore aims to see how much community misconceptions about indie music can affect the popularity of the folk genre. The study was done by the distribution of Google form questions to respondents who are in the general population of all classes and of all ages. The study was tested using Validation Test, Reliability Test, Normality Test as well as Simple Linear Regression Tests. From that series of tests researchers came to the conclusion that indeed, public misconceptions about indie music had an effect on the popularity of the folk genre in the community.

Abstract

Seni Budaya merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran yang ada di Satuan Pendidikan SMP di Indonesia. Ruang lingkup mata pelajaran Seni Budaya diantaranya adalah seni musik yang mencakup kemampuan untuk mengapresiasi karya musik baik seni musik tradisional maupun manca negara. Pada pelaksanaan pembelajarannya, guru perlu memiliki kompetensi berupa pengetahuan dan praktik bermain musik tradisional. Musik keroncong merupakan bagian musik tradisional yang bisa diterapkan dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Namun, kenyataan di lapangan banyak sekali guru Seni Budaya yang belum menguasai kemampuan tersebut karena background pendidikan mereka bukan di bidang seni musik. Hal ini menjadi kendala yang signifikan pada kegiatan pembelajaran materi seni musik. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan pengabdian cukup optimal dalam upaya meningkatkan pengetahuan guru Seni Budaya SMP kabupaten Blora terhadap musik keroncong, yang bisa ditunjukkan dengan hasil dari post test yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdian. Selain itu Keterampilan para guru Seni Budaya SMP kabupaten Blora dalam memainkan alat musik keroncong juga meningkat yang bisa ditunjukkan dengan keberhasilan peserta dalam praktik unjuk kerja memainkan musik keroncong secara berkelompok. Beberapa catatan tersebut antara lain 1) perlu adanya kegiatan lebih lanjut untuk meningkatkan kemampuan peserta pengabdian dalam bermain alat musik keroncong, 2) penerapan materi musik keroncong dalam kegiatan pembelajaran mata pelajaran Seni Budaya di tingkat SMP kabupaten Blora, 3) perlu komunikasi yang terus menerus antara tim pengabdian dengan peserta dalam mengintegrasikan program-program yang komprehensif di lingkungan sekolah.

Abstract

The existing quality of learning media, particularly in teaching multilingual characters of Early Childhood Education, poses a challenge in education. Teachers should possess the skills to continuously innovate in creating instructional materials, including prospective teachers, namely PGSD and PGMI students. This program aims to enhance the skills of PGSD and PGMI students in developing multilingual character education media for children. The primary focus is on using children's songs as an engaging and effective educational tool. Another issue is the need for more skills among students in creating multilingual and character-based instructional media that can captivate children's interest. The ultimate goal is to improve students' skills in creating engaging and effective instructional media, providing benefits to children, and contributing positive knowledge to the general public. As a solution, this program creates a simple arrangement of children's songs with characters in three languages as instructional media for PGSD and PGMI students. In its implementation, students are equipped with the skills to create simple arrangements of children's songs with the hope that this will serve as valuable preparation for creating engaging instructional materials.
