Abstract

Cervical and breast cancer are the cancer with the highest prevalence in Indonesia in 2013. The prevalence of cervical cancer is 0.8%. In the Riau Islands Province. North Maluku Province, and DI.Yogyakarta Province have the highest prevalence of cervical cancer at 1.5% based on the most estimated number of cervical cancer sufferers found in East Java and Central Java Provinces. One of the factors causing the high incidence of cervical cancer in women due to the low coverage of early detection due to lack of information on the public. Early detection of cervical cancer is an innovative breakthrough in health to reduce mortality and morbidity due to the cancer. The participants of this baby massage training health education are women of childbearing age with a range of ages 20 to 45 years of age and residing in the Malay kampong of Batu Besar sub- district, Nongsa District. Evaluation of increasing knowledge is done by pre and post test. The results showed that there was good knowledge of 85.3%, and participants who were willing to carry out IVA examinations were 72.4%. Conclusion of community service in the form of this training increased the knowledge and willingness of mothers to carry out IVA tests to reduce the number of cervical cancer, especially in the city of Batam

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is breastfeeding for the first 6 months of a baby's life without food or drink other than vitamins, drugs and ORS. The rate of exclusive breastfeeding in the Riau Islands based on the Indonesian Health Profile in 2019 was 81%, while in 2020 it was 58%. This shows that there is a decrease in exclusive breastfeeding for infants in the Riau Islands. This activity aims to increase the knowledge of pregnant women about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for mothers and babies. This community service activity is carried out using the method of health education to the community in the form of counseling with the material presented, namely the Importance of Exclusive Breastfeeding for Mothers and Babies. The implementation of this counseling is done by using leaflets as a tool. The results of community service showed that there was an increase in knowledge of pregnant women after being given counseling, from 25% to 100%. There is an increase in knowledge of pregnant women after being given counseling, this shows that counseling has an influence on increasing one's knowledge.

Abstract

Physical health problems in adolescents are often ignored so that they have an impact on physical health in adolescents. Lack of personal hygiene knowledge can be a factor inhibiting personal hygiene health in adolescents. Some health departments that need attention by adolescents in the implementation of personal hygiene such as maintaining healthy teeth and mouth, skin and facial health, reproductive organ health, daily clothing, and hair care and finger nails and toe nails. This community service aims to: 1) Establishing cooperation between the Bachelor of Midwifery Program Study at Awal Bros University and the Community Health Centers and Adolescents Posyandu in the Batam City Region in community service activities; 2) Growing awareness and increasing youth knowledge about personal hygiene so that youth can know and apply self-hygiene behavior so that they can avoid various health problems. This community service activity was carried out at the Adolescents Posyandu in the Working Area of ​​the Sei Panas Health Center in Batam City in April 2023 which involved 22 participants. This community service includes three stages including the preparation stage, the program implementation stage, and the evaluation at the end of the activity. The results obtained from this community service activity are that adolescents can know and apply personal hygiene behavior. There is an increase in the percentage of adolescents with good and sufficient knowledge and a decrease in the percentage of adolescents with less knowledge so that it can be concluded that the provision of counseling regarding personal hygiene to adolescents greatly influences the increase in participants' knowledge of the material provided.
