Abstract

There are three models of partnership in the development of smallholders plantation of palm oil in Center of Kalimantan Province, those are: (1) inti-plasma model that is managed by cooperative; (2) inti-plasma model that is managed by company; (3) inti-plasma model that is managed by individual farmers.  This research aims to find the best partnership model amongst them. This research has been done in Kotawaringin Barat District for the first and the third type of  models and in Katingan District for the second type. Collecting data and informations was done by Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and interviewed to the farmer respondents. A random sampling of 30 farmers was chosen for the first and the second models. For the second model, all of the farmers who follow the program as many as 20 farmers was chosen as this research respondent. The research found that the first type of those models is the best amongst of the partnership models because of following reasons: (1) highest productivity, about 20 tonnes FFB/ha/year; (2) highest farmer income about Rp 15,682,711/ha/year; (3) business risks are shared by all of the cooperative members; (4) there is guarantee of the input supply and marketing of farming yied from company as a business partner; (5) farmers have some opportunities to increase their household income as company workers or through the other activities. This research recommends to the Government of  Kalimantan Tengah Province  to oblige the plantation companies to implement an inti-palsma partnership model that is managed by cooperative for whom obligation to develop about 20% of their plantation area for smallholders.

Abstract

Pulang Pisau Regency has a total consumption of rice that 1.140 kcal/capita/day, less than the standard calorie intake of 2.200 kcal/capita/day. This study aimed to determine the level of household food security before and during the Covid-19 pandemic in Gohong Village, Pulang Pisau regency. This research was conducted in Gohong Village, Pulang Pisau Regency. Purposive selection of the location. Research conducted for 3 (three) months starting from October to December 2020. The number of samples was taken 20 households, the method used in determining the sample was the proportional simple random sampling technique. The data collected includes primary and secondary data. The analysis tools used is the share of food expenditure and energy adequacy. The results showed that the level of energy consumption from rice in the household was on average 888.46 calories/person/day, only reaching 44.42% of the energy adequacy of 2,000 calories/person/day. 25% of the household can achieve energy sufficiency from grains. 40% households were in the Food Expenditure Share above 60% before the Covid 19 Pandemic, and 35% households were in the Covid 19 Pandemic. 15% households were in food secure before the Pandemic it increased to 20% while Pandemic Covid 19. Increment in the number of households food secure was due to the decrease in the number of households with a Food Expenditure Share above 60%. The number of households on criteria food insecure before the pandemic was 85% consisting of 10% vulnerable, 45% lack of food, and 30% food insecurity. Meanwhile, during the pandemic, 80% of households were on the criteria food insecure, consisting of 5% vulnerable food, 45% lack of food, and 30% food insecure

Abstract

There is still a conflict of interest in land use, causing land used by farmers for food development to be included as HGU PT. SMART. The research aims to (1) find out the food development practices carried out by PT. SMART, (2) knowing the advantages and weaknesses of food development, (3) knowing the response of stakeholders to food development, (4) analyzing the formulation of CSR models for oil palm plantations based on food agribusiness. The results showed that agribusiness-based PET practices since planning, implementation, and marketing are entirely carried out by farmers. Farmers also individually and in groups conduct monitoring and evaluation, both on farming technicalities, group management, and the implementation of PET as a whole. The advantages and disadvantages of PET are the advantages of implementing PET PT. SMART mainly comes from the direct involvement of farmers in all work and management of farms, weaknesses in the implementation of PET PT. SMART consists of basic work of PET participants, difficulties in procuring saprodi after the crop starts to produce, the inability of farmers because while doing other work, productivity is quite low compared to pilot companies, management of farmer groups, and related government agencies have not been involved sustainably. Stakeholder response to PET practices has generally been good, but it is recognized that increasing the income of PET farmers is not accompanied by the ability of communities to manage their incomes. The formulation of the CSR model of PT. SMART based agribusiness food is (1) CSR of PT. SMART based on food agribusiness uses a model of partnering with other parties, namely partnering with farmers, government and universities, (2) empowering farmers in the CSR model of PT. SMART based on food agribusiness uses a collective farming group approach, while farming uses an integrated farming system.

Abstract

Budidaya lebah kelulut di ekosistem gambut, tidak hanya memberikan hasil berupa madu yang bernilai ekonomi, namun aktivitas lebah kelulut di ekosistem gambut sebagai salah satu komponen ekologi, bagi persebaran biji atau penyerbukan tanaman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses pengelolaan lebah Kelulut yang dikelola oleh Kelompok Usaha Perhutanan Sosial (KUPS) “Madu Kelulut” desa Tuwung Kecamatan Kahayan Tengah Kabupaten Pulang Pisau. Metode penelitian adalah metode kuantitatif. Lebah kelulut merupakan salah satu jenis lebah yang menghasilkan madu yang khas Indonesia, yang berasal dari daerah Kalimantan, dengan nama latin Trigona sp, sudah lama dikenal oleh masyarakat di sekitar hutan, lebah ini tidak memiliki sengat, sehingga tidak menakutkan bagi manusia. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh petani lebah kelulut adalah bagaimana upaya petani lebah untuk memasarkan madu, secara efektif, baik di pasar lokal maupun ekspor, akan mendukung pengembangan bisnis madu kelulut di Kabupaten Pulang Pisau. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa pengelolaan usaha KUPS “Madu Kelulut” ini masih belum maksimal, karena jumlah produksi yang masih rendah, sehingga disarankan untuk perbaikan dan peningkatan proses budidaya yang baik, perlu perluasan areal usaha, serta perlu penambahan jumlah stup.
