Abstract

In the era of globalization we need the implementation of character education for self-limiting, given that in the era of globalization, it is difficult to recognize cultural boundaries. Therefore, it takes an integrated character education on the subjects, thus indirectly the character education has been applied. To implement an integrated character education in the subjects, required learning model that suits the character that will be applied. Team assisted individualization is one type of cooperative learning model in a way students work in cooperative learning groups and is responsible for setting and checking on a regular basis, helping each other solve problems and to encourage each other to excel. The purpose of this study is not to implement character education in mathematics using cooperative learning model Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) and know the results of students of class V SD Negeri 3 Weda. This study is a class action (Classroom Action Research) collaborative and in the form of a cycle. The subject of research is a class V SD Negeri 3 Vedas. The instrument used was a test, observation sheets, interview, and documentation. The results showed that an increase in the learning outcomes of pre-cycle where students learning completeness 0% increase in the first cycle to the second cycle of 40% and 76%. The same thing can be seen in the ability of teachers to manage the classroom, in the first cycle teachers value increased in the second cycle of 3.75 to 4.58 with both categories. For the implementation of the integrated character education in mathematics can be seen in the first cycle of 98.67% the percentage of character discipline, teamwork 96%, and the responsibilities of 86.71%. In the second cycle, 98.76% of students have had the character of discipline, 96.90% students have the character of cooperation, and 88.89% of students have had the character of responsibility.

Abstract

Based on the asset-based service model, this study identifies the potential and strength of the Balbar Village community to support the community in developing their natural resource potential. The findings of this service program reveal that the community in Balbar Village has natural resource potential such as coastal and marine ecosystems, plantation areas and house yards, and rivers that cross rural areas. From these assets, the team together with the community recommends further activities such as the development of coastal ecotourism and a sustainable food house program. Keywords: ABCD, village potential

Abstract

Areca catechu L. is a type of palm whose direct use is still limited to certain consumers. This plant is rich in benefits. The use of areca nut is different from one area to another. This study deserves to be researched, as information for the Indonesian people about the use of areca nut. This study aims to identify betel nut species and to assess the use of betel nuts by the people of North Maluku. This research was a qualitative research. This research was conducted in 3 locations, namely 1 location in Jailolo Selatan sub-district to be precise in Sukadamai Village, West Halmahera Regency and 2 locations in Tidore Islands, precisely in Gurabunga Village and Rum Village. This research was conducted in June-July 2019. The data collection technique was done by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using a plant identification book and matching it with several references from research journals, while for interviews used data reduction techniques, data display, drawing conclusions and verification. Based on the research results, there are 5 species of areca nut, namely the common areca nut, the pare areca nut, the round areca nut, the areca nut, and the areca palm. As for the use of areca nut by the people of North Maluku, namely as an ingredient for daily consumption (chewing) with lime and betel, itching medicine, appetite enhancer for children and adults, eye purifier, cleaning the tongue in toddlers, overcoming discomfort in children. mouths of adults, anti migraine, traditional events (weddings, ceremonies for inviting genies), medicine for people with liver disease, and washing wounds.

Abstract

Urban air quality is an increasingly important environmental issue due to increasing transportation activity and urban growth. This study aims to analyze air quality in the urban area of Ternate City using lichen as a biological indicator. The study was conducted at several locations representing main roads, residential areas, and areas with relatively good vegetation cover. The method used was a field survey with a purposive sampling technique, identification of lichen species, and calculation of the Shannon-Wiener Diversity Index (H’). The results showed that the lichen diversity index value in the main road area was low, while that in the residential and vegetated areas was medium. No high diversity index values were found at all observation locations, indicating that urban air quality in Ternate City is still under pressure due to anthropogenic activities, especially transportation. These findings confirm that lichens are effective as bioindicators of air quality and are relevant for application as a simple and sustainable environmental monitoring method in the archipelago.
