Abstract

Everyone should understand the importance of planting trees from an early age. Planting trees so far, without realizing it, is only a ceremony or a trivial activity without meaning. In fact, there are many benefits to planting trees, not only for humans but for all living things around them. The existence of trees is currently very important in overcoming pollution, both pollution due to motorized vehicles and pollution from factories, especially in densely populated cities. The following are the benefits, goals, and functions of planting trees for the survival of humans, animals, and the environment. The benefits of planting trees are that they can store rainwater and maintain water reserves in the soil. Trees have a mechanism for storing water in the soil. The roots of the tree will absorb water from the soil for their own needs in carrying out photosynthesis. The purpose of planting trees is to improve the function of the forest while at the same time improving the environment, Because this is an inheritance for posterity, we should plant as many trees as possible. The function of trees for air is that they will clean the air from pollutants and produce oxygen, which we will later inhale when we breathe. Trees also play a role in reducing the greenhouse effect caused by carbon dioxide gases in the atmosphere.

Abstract

Identification of Pests That Attack Titi Plants (Gmelina moluccana Blume) in the Seed Source Demonstration Plot in Hatusua Village. This research aims to determine the types of pests that attack Titi (Gmelina moluccana Blume) plants in the seed source demonstration plot of Hatusua Village, determine the intensity of damage caused by pest attacks and determine the extent of pest attacks that attack Titi (Gmelina moluccana Blume) plants in the Village Seed Source Demonstration Plot. Hatusua. The research was conducted using quantitative descriptive methods, namely making direct observations in the Titi (Gmelina moluccana Blume) plant area. The research results showed that there were three types of pests found on Titi in the Hatusua Village Seed Source Demonstration Plot, namely wood grasshoppers (Valanga nigricornis), tree termites (Neortemes tectonae) and leaf beetles (Phaedonia inclusa Stall). The damage caused by woodhopper pests amounts to 18.86%, tree termites 6.02 %, and leaf beetles 10.54%, and these three pests are included in the mild category. 49,19% of the attack area was caused by woodchoppers, which were in the heavy category; 45.90% were caused by leaf beetles, which were in the medium category, and 4.91% were in the light category

Abstract

The current use of forests should be directed more towards environmental services, absorbing air pollutants, tourism, and various faunal activities. A Green Economy is an economic regime that enhances human well-being and social equity, while significantly reducing environmental risks. Green Economy also means an economy that produces low or no carbon dioxide emissions and environmental pollution, saves natural resources, and is socially equitable. The community. of the State of Itawaka, East Saparua District, and Central Maluku Regency are mostly farmers, where daily activities have to go to the forest. so it is necessary to provide education about the importance of the forest not only to collect wood but also for other benefits such as: producing oxygen, environmental services, and as a green economy center. The solution offered to the people of Itawaka Country is in the form of counseling activities by providing education for the community to maintain and maintain the forest because the forest has various benefits that are not enjoyed by the current Itawaka community, it can be maintained for the enjoyment of the next generation. To realize a green economy, Indonesia needs to change its pattern of economic development from pursuing high economic growth to economic development that optimizes growth itself, because development that only pursues growth has brought social impacts on society in the form of poverty, economic and social inequality, and has an impact on declining quality. environment and biodiversity.
