Abstract

The agroforestry system is a form of optimal land use that is oriented towards production as well as protecting land resources. The agroforestry production system has the peculiarity of producing more than one type of product. Research aims: 1). Knowing patterns in agroforestry management, 2). Analyzing farmers' income levels based on cropping patterns. This research uses direct observation methods and interviews with the community. The results of the research show that the response characteristics which include: age level, education level, hamlet area, distance from house to hamlet have a very positive influence on the income obtained from the agroforestry pattern. The highest level of income is type III with the main crop types namely cloves, nutmeg and durian while the supporting crop types are langsat, duku, cassava and chilies with an income level of IDR 102,325,000 while the lowest income is IDR 16,300,000, namely type V with the composition of plant types. The main ones are cloves, coconut and cassava, the composition of supporting plant types is durian, sago banana and chilies

Abstract

This research aims to look at the forms of community participation in Village Forest management in Oma village, Pulau Haruku District, Central Maluku Regency, the level of community participation in Village Forest management in Oma village, Pulau Haruku District, Central Maluku Regency, and to find out the factors that influence community participation in Village Forest Management in Oma village, Haruku Island District, Central Maluku Regency. The methods used in this research were qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The sample determination method uses purposive sampling or purposive sampling techniques. The data collection methods used in this research are observation, interviews, and literature study. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The level of community participation was analyzed using Likert scoring. Forms of community participation in the village forest program in Oma village, Haruku Island District, include thought, energy, and social involvement. The level of community participation in village forest management in Oma village in 4 stages of village forest management: the planning stage, namely, implementation, program evaluation, and utilization of results. The driving factor is synergy between stakeholders (central and regional government), the private sector, village government, and the community, and inhibiting factors include low human resources (HR). The level of community participation in village forest management in Oma village in the four stages of village forest management is included in the medium category. The driving factor in managing the Oma village forest is the synergy of stakeholders. While the inhibiting factor is the low quality of human resources (HR) in village communities.

Abstract

Community-based water resources management is an approach that accommodates the active role of communities in protecting and conserving water resources. This research aims to analyze the correlation between the socio-economic characteristics of the community and community-based water resource management in Hukurila village, Ambon City. The data collection method uses interviews and field observations with data analysis using Rank-Spearman correlation to analyze the correlation between research parameters. This means that every form of natural resource utilization is carried out by considering watershed sustainability aspects. The analysis results of the community perceptions (knowledge and attitudes) assessment regarding community-based water resources management show that the level of community knowledge is in the high category, and the attitude assessment is in the medium category. The results of the Spearman Rank analysis between the level of knowledge and attitudes related to water resources management obtained a Spearman coefficient of 0.446 with a significance of 0.001 at the 99% confidence level. In comparison, the active attitude of the community with community-based watershed management obtained a Spearman coefficient of 0.337 with a significance of 0.017 at the 95% confidence level. Community perception, which includes community knowledge and attitudes, has a positive and significant relationship with sustainable and sustainable watershed management.

Abstract

Agroforestry, commonly referred to as wanatani in Indonesia, can be simply defined as the practice of planting various types of trees on agricultural land, typically carried out by farmers. Agroforestry studies are not only analyzed from technical and biophysical aspects but also from socio-cultural and economic perspectives. This study examines the traditional agroforestry system, particularly the dusung farming pattern that combines forestry and agricultural crops in Negeri Hatu, Central Maluku Regency. The purpose of this research is to determine the income of farmers practicing the dusung agroforestry pattern and to identify the factors influencing their earnings. Data collection in the field was conducted using purposive sampling. The characteristics of respondents managing dusung agroforestry systems were determined based on age, education level, land area, number of land units, and land ownership status, ensuring they represented the target farmer population for the study. The results of the study showed that the income of agroforestry farmers in the hamlet in Negeri Hatu was Rp 353,955,000,-, but the per capita income per month was only Rp. 14,211 below the Provincial Minimum Wage. Three factors that affect the income of agroforestry farmers in the hamlet in Negeri Hatu are land area, production costs, and market prices.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the level of firewood consumption and the factors that influence firewood consumption in several tofu processing businesses in Masohi City, Central Maluku district. This research uses a survey method. Data obtained from interviews and observations include wood sources, types of firewood, volume of firewood used in processing tofu. The results of the research show that there are 17 types of firewood with the highest use being black belo wood (Diospyros pilosanthera Blanco). There are 6 villages as a source of firewood for tofu processing businesses in Masohi, namely Baru Village, Hollo, Nua Nea, Tamilouw, Sepa, Gunung Sugiarto. The highest consumption of firewood is pure tofu and tempeh business with a wood volume of 357.21 cubic meters per year. Factors that influence the level of firewood consumption in tofu processing are the amount of soybean porridge that is boiled, the cost of procuring firewood, the frequency of boiling, and the number of types of wood.

Abstract

The increasing public interest in nature-based tourism encourages the importance of a deeper understanding of the economic value of tourist destinations, especially those located in conservation areas. One of the main challenges in managing nature tourism is maintaining a balance between the preservation of natural resources and their economic use for the welfare of the surrounding community. This study aims 1) To know the  characteristics of visitors in visiting the Karang Sewu Natural Tourism Object,  2).  To analys the economic value of the Karang Sewu Nature Tourism Object located in the West Bali National Park area, Jembrana Regency, through the Travel Cost Method (TCM) approach.. The results  of the study show that visitor characteristics influence the intensity and motivation of visitors in visiting Karang Sewu Tourism Object, including gender, age, distance from residence, education level, employment level, income level, source of information, tourist destination, method of visiting, vehicle used, travel time, intensity of visits and travel costs.  The average travel cost per person per visit was IDR 285,525. Based on an average number of visits of 80 people per month, an estimated economic value of IDR 22,842,000 per month or around IDR 274,104,000 per year was obtained. These findings indicate that Karang Sewu is an affordable tourist destination and contributes significantly to the local economy. The results of this study are expected to be a reference in designing sustainable and inclusive conservation-based tourism management strategies, as well as encouraging local community involvement in managing tourist destinations.

Abstract

The PD. Tabulik furniture industry is one of the furniture industries that is believed to be superior in global competition. Therefore, strategic policies related to the optimal marketing chain are needed in maintaining business sustainability amid market competition. Consequently, the research aims to analyze the marketing chain of furniture industry products. The research method uses survey methods and in-depth interviews with all marketing channel components and the marketing chain analysis of the research object's outcome. The results show that the marketing chain is used by PD. Tabulik is a short marketing channel model that is direct producers to end consumers and is still limited in the Maluku region. The products' marketing chain gets shorter and shorter, so the final consumer is not charged with the purchase cost. But PD.Tabulik needs to fix the marketing chain management and marketing mix efficiently and optimally.

Abstract

Sago trees, especially sago flour, have a high economic value. Various snacks made from sago flour are used as local foods such as sago tumang, papeda, and different cakes. This study aims to find out the economic value of sago production. Data collection method using interviews and direct surveys of 6 key informants who process sago. Primary and secondary data are analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that sago trees have economic value. The result of calculating the monetary value for the roof is ± Rp 304,660,000, sago tumang amounted to ± Rp 55,987,750 to ± Rp 68,808,250, and sago plate amounted to ± Rp 14,030,000 per year so that the total economic value of sago production of Rp 785,160,000 / year. Sago contributes to the economic improvement of the community and is a culture that is as a local food of the Moluccas that must continue to be preserved.

Abstract

The tenure rights of indigenous peoples over the management of natural resources is an exciting topic because the existence of indigenous law communities depends on forest natural resources. This study aims to find out the types of rights of indigenous peoples in forest management in Melinani Hamlet. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection techniques used are interviews and observation techniques. The results of the survey showed the tenure rights of the people of Melinani Hamlet, North Seram District of Central Maluku Regency, included six types of rights, namely extraction rights, management rights, renting rights, guaranteed rights, selling rights, and inheritance rights to access and manage forests in Hkm. The land tenure system is based on petuanan, clan, and individuals with diverse utilization patterns. According to soa Mailissa's predominantly land tenure, the land tenure system includes extraction rights, management rights, and inheritance rights. The marga system by the Mailissa Clan and individually carried out by the head of the family.

Abstract

Kewang is one of the Customary Institutions whose function is to regulate the use and protection of natural resources both on land and at sea. The role of the Kewang Customary Institution in Haruku is maximally related to the function of supervision/controlling of community activities convert the mangrove forest ecosystem which is the lompa fish habitat. In addition to the activities of the people who hunt and take eggs from scorched birds freely. The goals to be achieved from Community Service activities carried out in Haruku country are 1. Rehabilitation of mangrove forest ecosystems as lompa fish (Trisina baelama) habitat, 2. Improving partners' abilities and skills in carrying out mangrove cultivation techniques, 3. Increasing partner supervision on the presence/population of gosling birds. The method used to transfer science and technology is 1). Preparation, 2). The implementation stage consists of: counseling and training, procuring mangrove seeds/saplings and making nurseries, planting, making scorched bird breeding cages, carrying out maintenance of mangrove plants that have been planted in the field and at the nursery location. The results achieved in this activity were making nurseries and planting 1000 mangrove saplings, building 2 bird brooding cages, cleaning the beach, counseling on mangrove cultivation and nursery techniques, the Role of Indigenous Institutions in the Management of Natural Resources, Breeding of rare fauna.
