Abstract

This community service includes the use of illustration books based on local wisdom as a literacy medium at the Taman Baca Kesiman with the breath of literacy as a benchmark. Religious literacy is a priority program at the Directorate General of Hindu Guidance, to welcome the year of tolerance 2022. Given this, efforts are needed to strengthen literacy and insight into religion. Literacy is not enough to be interpreted as merely reading and writing activities, but requires critical thinking skills in assessing scientific sources in print, visual, digital, and auditory forms which are expected to be able to develop a literate and moderate attitude. The purpose of this service activity is to provide media for Hindu religious literacy based on local wisdom to visitors and staff in the Taman Baca Kesiman environment, explore local wisdom based on Hinduism which will be illustrated both digitally and in print, and visitors and management staff at Taman Baca Kesiman have media Hindu religious literacy based on local wisdom. The method of implementing the activity is the presentation method, namely the presentation of material from resource persons with deepening of material related to basic knowledge of literacy, religious literacy, understanding the local wisdom of Tri Hita Karana, as well as training by using illustration books based on Balinese local wisdom as literacy media. Pengabdian masyarakat ini memuat pemanfaatan buku ilustrasi berbasis kearifan lokal sebagai media literasi di Taman Baca Kesiman dengan napas literasi sebagai tolok ukurnya. Literasi agama adalah program prioritas di Ditjen Bimas Hindu, untuk menyambut tahun toleransi 2022. Mengingat hal tersebut, diperlukan upaya-upaya untuk memperkuat literasi dan wawasan dalam beragama. Literasi tidak cukup hanya dimaknai dengan hanya sekadar kegiatan membaca dan menulis, namun menuntut adanya keterampilan berpikir kritis dalam menilai sumber-sumber ilmu baik dalam bentuk cetak, visual, digital, dan auditori yang diharapkan mampu mengembangkan sikap literat dan moderat. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini untuk memberikan media literasi agama Hindu berbasis kearifan lokal kepada pengunjung dan staf di lingkungan Taman Baca Kesiman, menggali kearifan lokal berbasis agama Hindu yang akan dibuatkan ilustrasi baik secara digital maupun cetak, dan pengunjung dan staf pengelola di Taman Baca Kesiman memiliki media literasi agama Hindu berbasis kearifan lokal. Adapun metode pelaksanaan kegiatan yaitu dengan metode presentasi yaitu pemaparan materi dari narasumber dengan pendalaman materi terkait pengetahuan dasar literasi, literasi agama, pemahaman kearifan lokal Tri Hita Karana, serta pelatihan dengan memanfaatkan buku ilustrasi berbasis kearifan lokal Bali sebagai media literasi.

Abstract

Homo religios is a human dimension that tries to find the meaning of life in the spiritual dimension. The effort to uncover the veil of the truth of life in the spiritual dimension is through an activity called yoga. Kriyà yoga is a part of yoga that places more emphasis on controlling the flow of life force (prana) through a series of specific pranayama techniques to achieve union with cosmic consciousness (God). In learning kriyà yoga techniques, one should attend to a competent teacher in a devotional manner. A series of kriyà yoga techniques that emphasize certain pranayama techniques are used to cleanse and provide a maximum flow of life energy (prana) to the energy centers (chakras) and the brain contained in humans. When this flow of prana flows more and more to the spiritual organ it automatically promotes an increase in awareness in a yogi.

Abstract

The teaching of bhakti yoga is a teaching that examines how or how to connect and unite with God. Bhakti yoga emphasizes the path of developing deep compassion, reverence, service and devotion towards God in all His manifestations. The teaching of bhakti yoga is expressed in several ways, including: carrying out prayers / worship, having a heart full of gratitude, respecting anyone, and carrying out social activities.

Abstract

The Siva Samhita or collection of Siva's teachings is a yoga text that describes the teachings of yoga in a complete and in-depth manner. One of the components of yoga described in the text is the ethical teachings that must be carried out by yoga practitioners who want to achieve success in yoga. This study provides theoretical support and enriches the body of knowledge about yoga ethics. This research is classified as a qualitative research with Siva Samhita as the object of study. The data were analyzed by the following steps: data reduction, data classification, data display, interpretation and conclusion. The results of this study include: 1) When carrying out dhyana yoga (meditation) you should always pray homage to Guru and Lord Ganesha as opening the way to success. 2) All kinds of food and actions that do not support progress in yoga are to be avoided. Vice versa, all kinds of food and actions that support the progress of yoga should be done with full discipline and without attachment. 3) Enjoyment (bhoga) engendered by the five senses should be avoided as they only serve as a hindrance to progress in yoga.

Abstract

Kakawin Arjuna Wiwaha written by Mpu Kanwa is a literary work that requires life values. The practice of tapa or yoga performed by Arjuna in the text of the Kakawin Arjuna Wiwaha has become a guideline for how yoga should be practiced by yoga practitioners. Furthermore, this research tries to explore the axiology of yoga, especially about the ethical values ​​of yoga contained in the text of Kakawin Arjuna Wiwaha. The theory used to analyze these problems is the hermeneutic theory. The method used in this study includes: this type of research is qualitative research, the data is collected through literature study and document study techniques. The data were analyzed by interpreting the qualitative data. Axiological studies, especially the ethical values ​​of yoga that can be explored in the text of Kakawin Arjuna Wiwaha include: the value of success in in carrying out obligations (swadharma), the value of self-control, the value of detachment from sensory objects, and the value of firmness and resistance to temptation.

Abstract

Calonarang Gabos is one of the performing arts which is staged at the Piodalan ceremony at Griya Sakti Manuaba Temple, Bongkasa Village as a medium of transcendental communication between worshipers and those who are worshiped, so Calonarang Gabos is called a sacred art that is full of sacred, tenget, religious and magical values to neutralize negative power. The Satyam, Sivam, Sundaram trilogy becomes a harmonious whole in the Calonarang Gabos performance, so that it is able to achieve a balance between sekala and niskala. This research uses Religious theory, Aesthetic theory, and Structural Semiotics theory to discuss the overall problem formulation in this study. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method that emphasizes extracting information in the field by observation and describing it in narrative form that emphasizes theological, aesthetic values and the implications arising from the staging of Gabos Calonarang on the community in Bongkasa Village. The religiosity of the Calonarang Gabos performance is reflected in the religious emotions that are still very strong in the Bongkasa Village community which is able to become the basic foundation for the staging process to take place. Apart from the religious emotions, the Calonarang Gabos performance is also supported by a strong belief system in the power of Ida Bhatari Dalem, which is supported by the ritual system and the surrounding community, who are still consistent in maintaining the preservation of the arts through staging events. The Hindu aesthetic values contained in the Calonarang Gabos performance are Satyam, Sivam, and Sundaram. As well as the meanings contained in the Calonarang Gabos performance are theological meanings, social meanings, educational meanings, and balance meanings.
