Abstract

The various kinds of obstacles occur in the learning process during the pandemic. One approach to solving learning problems is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The purpose of this study is to describe the urgency of CAR to improve the quality of learning in the new normal. This research method is descriptive and qualitative. The research subjects were active elementary teachers in East Java. The data collection instrument in this study was a questionnaire distributed online. The results of the study showed that 100% of the participating teachers thought that CAR was important to implement. This is because they benefit from the implementation of CAR, namely improving the quality of learning. However, the implementation of CAR during the pandemic experienced various obstacles including limited internet connection and face-to-face time. This is a challenge for teachers to continue to carry out CAR with the blended learning method to overcome learning problems that occur during the new normal period.

Abstract

Kemampuan koneksi matematis sangat dibutuhkan baik dalam pembelajaran matematika, maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Realitanya kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa tingkat Sekolah Dasar di Indonesia dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika masih tergolong rendah. Oleh karena itu diperlukan adanya pembekalan bagi calon guru SD/MI agar terlatih dalam menerapkan koneksi matematis yang nantinya akan berdampak pada peningkatan koneksi matematis siswa mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan produk berupa modul pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis mahasiswa calon guru SD/MI dengan cara mengembangkan serta menguji kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan dari modul yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian pengembangan model ADDIE dan diujicobakan pada 9 orang mahasiswa PGMI STAI Al-Fithrah Surabaya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, modul pembelajaran berbasis proyek mendapatkan hasil kevalidan dalam kategori cukup valid. Dari segi kepraktisan, mendapatkan hasil rata-rata 88,69 dengan kategori sangat baik, sedangkan dari keefektifan rata-rata nilai kemampuan koneksi matematis mahasiswa sebelum penggunaan modul adalah 59,78 dan setelah penggunaan modul yaitu 75,11 dan dapat dikatakan efektif meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis.

Abstract

TPQ Al-Wardah is the first TPQ in Wanar Village which until now has less than 100 students fostered by 6 Asatidzah. The method used at TPQ Al-Wardah is the An-Nahdiyah method. Based on the results of the Focus Group Discussion (FGD), the formulation of the problem tree, and the formulation of the hope tree, it shows that TPQ Al-Wardah Desa Wanar still needs guidance, especially in the field of procurement and management of infrastructure that can support better educational institutions. In addition, the method of teaching the Koran at TPQ Al-Wardah is still monotonous, making it boring and less effective. Institutional strengthening through empowering educational resources at TPQ Al-Wardah needs to be done before maximizing other elements. Therefore, community service activities were carried out at TPQ Al-Wardah entitled upgrading or improving Al-Qur'an learning facilities and methods. The strategies used in this activity were (1) conducting FGDs with related institutions and agencies, (2) formulating various learning methods and infrastructure needed by TPQ Al-Wardah, (3) updating recitation infrastructure at TPQ Al Wardah, ( 4) organize training on fun Al-Quran learning methods through the 3B method (Playing, Storytelling, and Singing) as well as practical learning methods. The facilities provided in this activity were bookcases, Al-Qur'an, several volumes of An-Nahdliyah books, stationery, and visual aids. In addition, in this activity training was held on the Al-Qur'an 3B learning method (Playing, Learning, and Storytelling) for teachers.

Abstract

Learning implementation practically changes. Students are no longer the object of learning. The success of education is also determined by the teachers’ quality. If teachers can understand the process of acquiring knowledge, then they can determine appropriate learning strategies or methods, one of which is guided inquiry. Guided inquiry is a method that involves students actively discovering concepts independently. Research objective was to determine the implementation effect of the guided inquiry method on science learning outcomes in grade 5th of MI Al-Ghozali Surabaya. This research used quantitative methods. The research population was 39 students. The sampling technique used non-probability sampling. Data collection used interview sheets and tests. The data analysis used Pearson product moment and t-table test. The results showed, value of t-table 37 was 1.68. This shows t-count>t-table = 1.91>1.68. So Ho was accepted and it stated that there was an increase in student learning outcomes. Besides, rxy is bigger than r-table = 0.33617>0.316. It can be concluded that the guided inquiry method has a low effect on increasing student learning outcomes. This is also supported by the results of the coefficient of determination 11.3%, the remaining 88.7% (100% -11.3%) is influenced by other variables which were not examined by researchers.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan fungsi perpustakaan sebagai pusat belajar yang meningkatkan literasi siswa sekolah mitra. Sasaran kegiatan ini yaitu MI Idzharul Ulum Desa Bakalanpule Kecamatan Tikung Kabupaten Lamongan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu 1) Focus Group Discussion (FGD), 2) pengadaan buku-buku terbitan terbaru, 3) penyuluhan manajemen perpustakaan sekolah, dan 4) pendampingan praktik manajemen perpustakaan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berjalan dengan lancar dan mendapat respon positif dari pihak-pihak terkait. Manfaat dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu adanya peningkatan manajemen perpustakaan MI Idzharul ulum, diantaranya 1) ruangan perpustakaan lebih tertata dan menarik pengecatan ulang serta penyediaan ruang baca, 2) buku-buku yang tersedia merupakan koleksi terbaru sesuai kebutuhan siswa, 3) perawatan buku-buku dengan pemberian coding dan sampul buku, 4) penataan buku sesuai kategori, 5) adanya katalog buku, dan 6) adanya peraturan meminjam serta membaca di perpustakaan.

Abstract

Motivasi belajar merupakan dorongan dari diri siswa untuk belajar. Pemahaman matematis merupakan tujuan pembelajaran matematika karena kemampuan pemahaman matematis diperlukan untuk menyelesaikan masalah sehari-hari. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya serta besarnya pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa MI Al Hidayah Surabaya. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu angket motivasi dan tes pemahaman matematis. Instrumen penelitian diberikan kepada subjek penelitian untuk mengumpulkan data terkait motivasi serta pemahaman matematis subjek penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,217 yang berarti memberikan pengaruh dalam kategori rendah. Dapat dikatakan bahwa siswa kelas VI MI Al Hidayah Surabaya sebagian memiliki motivasi belajar yang berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis. Lebih lanjut, berdasarkan perhitungan koefisien determinasi diperoleh informasi bahwa pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa MI Al Hidayah Surabaya sebesar 47%. Dengan kata lain, 53 % dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain
