Abstract

Analysis of tidal components can be done with several methods, namely least square method, admiralty and so forth. The least square method is a tidal harmonic analysis method used to analyze and to predict tides in this research. Daily observation data of 15 days in each hour will be simulated against 158 variations of time using Hijri calendar, to find out the initial variation of observational data that best matches the tidal prediction in Bengkalis waters. The analysis was carried out using tidal data in the waters around the port of Roro Bengkalis. The analysis results show that the smallest average root mean square error (RMSE) value is on the initial variation of the 30th data for verification of the simulation data. The 30th days of the Hijri calendar is in the new moon phase. The tidal type of the location of the research based on the value of the Formzahl number was classified at the double mixed tide prevailing type (mixed tide prevailing semidiurnal). Keywords: formzahl, least square method, RMSE, tide prediction

Abstract

Synthetic Unit Hydrograph is a simple and practical method to analyze the design flood discharge of a watershed. This method can be used for watershed do not have the tools of Automatic Water Level Recorder (AWLR) and discharge recording. The method can analyze only the flood discharge based on the basin characteristics. Antokan, Andaman, Tiku, Gasang Gadang’s basin are some watershed flood discharge to be analyzed in this study. The characteristics of the sixth watershed obtained using Digital Elevaltion Digital Model (DEM) data and then be processed using Geographic Information System (GIS). GIS will produce the output of the watershed characteristic data needed to calculate the Syntethic Unit Hydrograph flood discharge, there were Snyder, SCS, Gamma I, and Nakayasu’s methodes. The method will be compared to get the most optimum method and can be applied in the watershed of reviews with HDRO close to 1 mm and a volume error of less than 5%. In the case study can be viewed unit hydrograph can be applied to the Antokan, Andaman, Tiku, Gasang Gadang’s watershed is SCS and Nakayasu’s method with HDRO obtained 1 mm and volum error less than 5%.Keywords: Basin characteristics, GIS, Synthetic Unit Hydrograph

Abstract

Tampan regency a districts in Pekanbaru city that is currently growing. Most of the population in the district use ground water for daily need. To observe such condition , mapping of ground water is conducted on the area. This research was intended to identify ground water flow and the availability of ground water in the area of Tampan district in Pekanbaru using Geographic information System (GIS). Survey and measurement is conducted during dry season. The output of the measurement are the coordinate and the elevation of the ground water. Dataprocessing is conducted using GIS based program that yields ground water contour which has been interpolated using Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) and Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) method. The drawing for ground water pattern is conducted by determining perpendicular line with the elevation contour of the ground water. Generally, some part of theground water flowing direction heads into the system and some other parts heads outside of the system (Tampan district). Ground water potential in this area is considered to be available of ground water comes from rain and the ground water itself. Keywords: GIS, TIN, IDW, ground water pattern, availability of ground water.

Abstract

A University should have an integrated drainage system so that when it rained, there is no a flood that disrupts the activity of students and teachers on campus. Floods with a height of 5 to 10 cm that ever happened on the campus of UIN SUSKA Riau is the problem of existing drainage systems on the campus of UIN. The drainage that was built in 2016 are expected to resolve the problem of flooding. This study aims to evaluate the drainage system of the UIN SUSKA’s campus use return periode of 2, 5 and 10 years. The data that are used in this research are rainfall’s data, drainage network map, topographic maps and maps of land use. HEC-RAS 4.0 program was used to building model the flow of discharge into the drainage channels of  UIN’s campus. The results showed that the existing drainage is not able to withstand the flood discharge on  return periode 2, 5 and 10 years with a high range of pools is 8 to 11 cm. Then, the evaluation that is done on a planned drainage to be indicating that the planned drainage capable of accommodating the flood discharge with return periode 2, 5 and 10 years. This indicates that the integrated drainage system on a campus, capable of resolving the problem of flooding in the area  Keyword : floods, drainage, HEC-RAS 4.0
