Abstract

This study examines the commitment of vocational teacher education students at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) in applying core character values. The global trend in teacher education links education and economic growth, emphasizing students' competence for the job market. However, teachers are also expected to address social and moral cohesion in the younger generation. The research involved 177 third- and fourth-year students at FPTV UTHM Malaysia and an equal number at FT-UNY, utilizing a questionnaire based on core character values. The findings indicate moderate commitment levels (58.75%) among university students. UTHM students scored slightly higher (2.42) than UNY students (2.28). The study shows that character education for vocational teacher education students in both Indonesia and Malaysia has not reached optimal levels, emphasizing the need to investigate more effective character education models for future vocational teachers.

Abstract

Background: BIM is a digital program or software that was created to transform the conventional construction world into a digital and integrated construction world to facilitate development work. This study aims to determine the experience of students in using BIM to understand the concept of Steel Structures for students of classes 2020 & 2021. Methods: This research uses a qualitative approach with thematic analysis techniques, whose data collection uses BIM test scores and Steel Structure II scores. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviewing 10 students who could do the BIM test and get high Steel Structure scores. Thematic analysis using ChatGPT version 4. Results: The results show that there are 6 themes in the experience of students in using BIM to understand the concept of Steel Structure. The first theme is the general experience with BIM. The second theme is the benefits of using BIM for Steel Structures. The third theme was the challenges in using BIM, and students experienced initial difficulties in understanding BIM. The fourth theme was the role of BIM in improving understanding of Steel Structures. The fifth theme is the perception of using BIM in civil engineering learning. The sixth theme is suggestions for improving the use of BIM gacorqq. Conclusion: This research concludes that the use of BIM in learning Steel Structure is very useful to deepen students' understanding of the concept of Steel Structure.

Abstract

Vocational High School Special Job Markets (Bursa Kerja Khusus/ BKK SMK) play a strategic role in enhancing graduates’ competitiveness by linking them with employment opportunities. However, systematic approaches to performance measurement in BKK remain limited, leading to inefficiencies in service delivery and accountability. This study aims to design a comprehensive performance measurement framework for BKK using the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) approach. A qualitative literature review method was employed by examining scholarly articles, official reports, and institutional documents relevant to BKK operations. The analysis highlights that BKK management generally follows four managerial stages: planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling. Through the BSC framework, four performance perspectives were identified—financial, customer (students and industry partners), internal processes, and learning and growth. The results suggest that the implementation of BSC provides BKK with a structured tool to assess program effectiveness, monitor performance indicators, and develop targeted strategies for service improvement. Moreover, the study emphasizes the potential of digitalization to strengthen BKK transparency, accountability, and efficiency in job placement services. The original contribution of this research lies in proposing a BSC-based evaluation model that serves as a practical guideline for policymakers, school managers, and industry partners in aligning vocational education outcomes with labor market needs. In doing so, the study advances both theoretical insights into performance measurement systems and practical implications for improving the employability of vocational graduates.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims to determine the competence of graduates in the S1 curriculum of PTSP UNY in 2020 from aspects of learning outcomes needed by the construction planner industry, knowing the relevance of graduate competencies in the curriculum with the needs of the construction planner industri  and knowing the competencies of graduates based on industry advice that has not been listed in the learning outcomes. This type of research is descriptive quantitative and sample research using  purposive snowball sampling method. Using questionnaire instruments with 55 question points. Data analysis is done with descriptive percentages. The results showed that the competence of graduates in the S1 PTSP UNY curriculum in 2020 judging from aspects of learning outcomes required by the industry consists of four aspects, namely attitude (10 competencies), knowledge (13 competencies), general skills (17 competencies), and specific skills (15 competencies the level of competency relevance of graduates in the 2020 S1 PTSP UNY curriculum on the four aspects of the criteria is very relevant. In the aspect of attitude 89%, knowledge 81.54%, general skills 85.53%, and specific skills 83.20% and additional competencies  based on industri advice is  able to master the survey results and existing conditions.Keywords: relevance of competence, S1 PTSP UNY, curriculum 2020, construction industri, and planners.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kompetensi lulusan pada kurikulum S1 PTSP UNY tahun 2020 dari aspek capaian pembelajaran yang dibutuhkan industri bidang perencana konstruksi, mengetahui tingkat relevansi kompetensi lulusan pada kurikulum dengan kebutuhan industri bidang perencana konstruksi dan mengetahui kompetensi lulusan berdasarkan saran dunia industri yang belum tercantum dalam capaian pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dan sampel penelitian menggunakan metode purposive snowball sampling. Menggunakan instrumen angket dengan butir pertanyaan sebanyak 55 butir. Analisis data dilakukan dengan deskriptif persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi lulusan pada kurikulum S1 PTSP UNY tahun 2020 dilihat dari aspek capaian pembelajaran yang dibutuhkan industri terdiri dari empat aspek yaitu sikap (10 kompetensi), pengetahuan (13 kompetensi), keterampilan umum (17 kompetensi), dan keterampilan khusus (15 kompetensi), tingkat relevansi kompetensi lulusan pada kurikulum S1 PTSP UNY tahun 2020 termasuk dalam kriteria sangat relevan. Pada aspek sikap 89%, pengetahuan 81,54%, keterampilan umum 85,53%, dan keterampilan khusus 83,20% dan kompetensi tambahan berdasarkan saran dunia industri adalah mampu menguasai hasil survei dan kondisi eksisting.

Abstract

Background: The implementation of a workshop layout that is not following the 2010 ILO & IEA regulations can cause work accidents, hence the need for OHS implementation in woodworking workshops. The objectives of this research are: (1) to determine the suitability of the layout of the Woodworking Workshop of DPTSP UNY with the 2010 ILO & IEA regulations. (2) To determine the suitability of the K3 implementation of the woodworking workshop of DPTSP UNY with SNI 45001 2018.Methods: The research method used in this study is descriptive static with a percentage scale. This research was conducted at the Woodworking Workshop of DPTSP UNY with the research sample being lecturers, technicians, and students who were using the workshop. Data was collected using a questionnaire with a Guttman scale.Results: The study yielded the following data: (1) There is conformity between the layout of the Woodworking Workshop and the ILO & IEA regulations with an average of 78%. (2) There is conformity of K3 in the woodworking workshop with SNI 45001 with an average of 90%.Conclusion: The suitability of the layout of the woodworking workshop can facilitate the movement of woodwork with the availability of tools that are quite complete, and the layout of the equipment makes it easy for students to find tools, besides that the storage and maintenance of tools is very well maintained. The suitability of K3 in the woodworking workshop provides a high guarantee of safety if it is supported by the discipline of using the correct work procedures and adherence to procedures. In addition, the room with K3 standard criteria to create a safe, comfortable, and healthy environment in carrying out practical activities.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is emerging as a revolutionary force that is changing how we interact and work and redefining the global education landscape, especially Vocational Education (VE). AI is an opportunity to develop learning research and good vocational Education. However, this opportunity has not been correctly utilized because not all educators can develop research and AI-based learning content well. This article reveals opportunities for current and future research development related to AI and vocational Education through bibliometric analysis. The database comes from Scopus, and 159 articles were analyzed from 2014 to 2023. Bibliometric analysis of documents, including author name, journal network, country, and keywords, is visualized using the VOSviewer program. The findings reveal three key insights: (1) research remains concentrated in vocational health, with limited exploration in other sectors such as engineering, tourism, and agriculture; (2) international collaboration is still weak, despite strong potential between countries with high and emerging publication rates; and (3) keyword clusters highlight Apprenticeship, Students, Artificial Intelligence, and Engineering Education as the main thematic areas. These insights form a roadmap for future research that emphasizes diversifying AI applications across vocational sectors, fostering cross-border collaboration, and developing innovative themes around curricula, personalized learning, and simulation-based training. Despite limitations related to database and language scope, this study offers strategic directions for advancing AI in VE research and strengthening its contributions to global vocational education development.

Abstract

Background: BIM is the operational standard for the modern construction industry. This study aims to describe the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) learning in vocational high schools that have a Building Modeling and Information Design program, as well as to formulate a structured Learning Objective Flow in accordance with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum and the demands of the construction industry. Methods: This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach involving teachers of BIM-related subjects and students in grades X, XI, and XII from SMKN 2 Depok, SMKN 2 Yogyakarta, SMKN 3 Yogyakarta, and SMKN 1 Sedayu. Data were collected through closed-ended questionnaires based on a Likert scale and open-ended questionnaires, then analysed using descriptive statistics to determine trends in each aspect of the study. Results: The results show that the implementation of BIM learning still faces various obstacles, especially in terms of human resources, availability of facilities and infrastructure, curriculum integration, teaching methods, and managerial support. The uneven competence of teachers and the limitations of licensed hardware and software are the main obstacles. Conclusion: This study succeeded in formulating an adaptive, systematic, and contextual learning objective Flow. This flow includes objectives, achievement indicators, learning activities, and assessments that are arranged in stages, starting from mastering basic software skills to developing collaborative projects based on Building Information Modeling (BIM). The findings of this study are expected to provide practical contributions in strengthening the readiness of vocational high schools to implement Building Information Modeling (BIM)-based learning in a focused and sustainable manner.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to investigate whether the drill method (verbal and non-verbal communication skill drill) is able to improve the basic teaching skills in microteaching context. This is classroom action research. The population consisted of students majoring in Civil Engineering and Planning Education Department, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University who were taking microteaching practice course at 2019. The sample of the study was class A2 consisted of 11 students. The study was conducted in three cycles. Cycle 1 contained basic verbal communication, cycle 2 encompassed basic non-verbal communication, and cycle 3 covered both basic verbal and non-verbal communication types. Observation and skills assessment sheets were employed. The qualitative descriptive and descriptive statistics methods were then used to analyze the data.The results show that: (1) basic verbal communication skill drill in microteaching practices improves student teachers' basic microteaching skills and (2) basic non-verbal communication skill drill in microteaching practices improve student teachers' basic microteaching skills.Keywords: drill, communication, instructional media, posters, workshop  ABSTRAKTujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengungkap bagaimana pengaruh metode drill keterampilan dasar mengajar (verbal maupun nonverbal) mampu meningkatkan keterampilan dasar mengajar terbatas pada pengajaran mikro. Populasi  kajian ini  adalah mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan FT UNY yang sedang melaksanakan praktik pengajaran Mikro pada tahun 2019. Sampel kajian adalah kelas A2 sejumlah 11 mahasiswa. Kajian dilaksanakan selama tiga siklus. Tinjauan pertama adalah dasar komunikasi verbal, tinjauan kedua adalah dasar komunikasi non verbal, tinjauan ketiga adalah dasar komunikasi verbal dan non verbal. Observasi kegiatan dilakukan oleh peneliti dengan lembar pengamatan. Penilaian keterampilan juga menggunakan lembar penilaian keterampilan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil kajian menunjukan bahwa: (1) metode drill keterampilan dasar  komunikasi verbal yang diterapkan pada praktik keterampilan dasar mengajar terbatas dalam pengajaran mikro dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar dasar terbatas. (2) metode drill keterampilan dasar komunikasi nonverbal yang diterapkan pada praktik keterampilan dasar mengajar terbatas dalam pengajaran mikro dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar dasar terbatas.Kata kunci: drill, komunikasi, pengajaran mikro

Abstract

Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengungkap bagaimana pengaruh implementasi penggunaan media VidUK (Video  Unjuk  Kerja)  dalam  pembelajaran micro  teaching  aspek  tinjauan  mata  pelajaran  praktik  mampu meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan, FT, UNY. Kajian ini merupakan kajian tindakan kelas (classroom research). Populasi kajian ini adalah mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan FT UNY yang sedang melaksanakan praktik pengajaran Mikro pada tahun 2018. Sampel kajian adalah kelas B2 sejumlah 11 mahasiswa. Kajian dilaksanakan selama tiga siklus. Tinjauan pertama adalah kemampuan membuka pelajaran, tinjauan kedua adalah penyampaian materi, tinjauan ketiga adalah evaluasi. Observasi kegiatan dilakukan oleh peneliti dengan lembar pengamatan. Penilaian keterampilan juga menggunakan lembar penilaian keterampilan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil kajian menunjukan bahwa penggunaan media VidUK (Video Unjuk Kerja) dalam pembelajaran micro teaching aspek tinjauan mata pelajaran praktik mampu meningkatkan keterampilan mengajar mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Sipil  dan  Perencanaan untuk  aspek  tinjauan kemampuan membuka pelajaran, kemampuan penyampaian materi, serta kemampuan evaluasi; penggunaan media VidUK (Video Unjuk Kerja) dalam pembelajaran micro teaching dapat dijadikan sebagai sarana demonstrasi awal guru kepada siswa sebelum demonstrasi inti dilaksanakan.

Abstract

Tujuan kajian ini adalah: (1) mengetahui tahap pengembangan modul estimasi biaya konstruksi jalan pada mata pelajaran Estimasi Biaya Konstruksi dan (2) mengetahui tingkat kelayakan modul estimasi biaya konstruksi jalan pada mata pelajaran Estimasi Biaya Konstruksi untuk siswa kelas XI kompetensi keahlian Desain Pemodelan dan Informasi Bangunan SMK Negeri 1 Purworejo. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah Research and Development. Desain kajian ini menggunakan 4D (four-D) Thiagarajan dengan empat tahapan pokok, yaitu: Define (pendefisian); Design (perancangan); Develop (pengembangan); dan Disseminate (penyebaran). Teknik pengumpulan data melalui angket dengan didukung oleh observasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dengan cara mengolah data kuantitatif yang kemudian ditafsirkan menjadi data kualitatif. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pengembangan modul pada tahap define menunjukkan belum tersedianya modul estimasi biaya konstruksi jalan, pada tahap design modul disusun sesuai dengan kompetensi dan tujuan pembelajaran yang telah dibuat, pada tahap develop adanya saran dari ahli materi mengenai runtutan materi perlu dibuat lebih terstruktur dan sistematis dilain itu adanya saran dari ahli media mengenai perbaikan penulisan indek tabel dan gambar serta posisi penulisan konten pada halaman landscape, dan pada tahap disseminate penyebaran modul dilakukan kepada guru mata pelajaran Estimasi Biaya Konstruksi; (2) tingkat kelayakan modul estimasi biaya konstruksi jalan menurut ahli materi diperoleh persepsi kelayakan sebesar 3,425 dengan kategori sangat layak, menurut ahli media diperoleh persepsi kelayakan sebesar 2,96 dengan kategori layak, dan menurut guru sebagai pengguna diperoleh persepsi kelayakan sebesar 4 dengan kategori sangat layak.
