Abstract

Hipertensi merupakan suatu kondisi terjadinya peningkatan tekanan darah sistolik dan diastolik yaitu >140/90 mmHg. Hipertensi merupakan penyakit degeneratif yang membutuhkan terapi jangka panjang dan tekanan darah harus terkontrol, dan untuk mencapai tekanan darah yang terkontrol dibutuhkan managemen terapi yang baik, salah satunya adalah kepatuhan dalam meminum obat antihipertensi. Kepatuhan dan ketidakpatuhan terapi akan mempengaruhi terkontrolnya tekanan darah pasien. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat kepatuhan pasien meminum obat antihipertensi di Desa Kujon, Ceper, Klaten. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif observasional. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling, dan kuesioner MARS-10. Responden yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini sejumlah 57 responden. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan sebagian besar responden (59,65%) memiliki tingkat kepatuhan sedang / cukup patuh dalam meminum obat antihipertensi

Abstract

The incidence of hypertension in the elderly has increased, which is caused by several factors that affect the level of compliance. This study was conducted to determine the level of compliance and factors that influence the use of antihypertensive drugs in patients at the elderly Posyandu Drono Village. This study used purposive sampling technique and questionnaire instrument of MARS-10, correlation analysis was performed with Chi-square test. The results showed that the level of patient compliance in the elderly Posyandu of Drono Village was not compliant (71.4%). Factors that have a correlation with compliance with the use of antihypertensive drugs are educational factors, with a value of p = 0,002 and family support factors with a value of p = 0,045. Providing comprehensive counseling about the desired outcomes, potential side effects, and proper medication usage can enhance patient knowledge, ultimately improving patient adherence. Moreover, family support can promote better adherence in elderly patients.

Abstract

Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) contains several secondary metabolites, one of which is flavonoids that have the ability to inhibit the activity of cyclooxygenase enzymes. Aims of this study is to determine the efficacy of lemongrass stem ethanol extract (Cymbopogon citratus) as an antipyretic and to determine the minimum effective dose for reducing fever in mice (Mus musculus) induced by yeast. The type of study is an experimental laboratory study, divided into 5 treatment groups, 0.5% CMC Na, paracetamol, lemongrass stem extract at doses of 4 mg/20 g, 6 mg/20 g, and 8 mg/20 g. Fever in mice was induced by subcutaneous injection of a 1.5% yeast solution. Rectal temperature measurements were taken at regular intervals at 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, and 180 minutes. The test results showed that the ethanol extract of lemongrass stem at a dose of 4 mg/20 g was able to reduce the fever-induced temperature of mice by 0.78°C from the fever temperature, while the 8 mg/20 g dose of lemongrass extract exhibited antipyretic effects similar to paracetamol.

Abstract

Hypertension is a major non-communicable disease often referred to as a silent killer because it may occur without noticeable symptoms until complications develop. This community service activity aimed to improve public knowledge and awareness regarding blood pressure control among participants of Posbindu Pos 2 Melati, Borongan Village, Polanharjo District, Klaten Regency. The activity included blood pressure screening, pre-test, hypertension education using PowerPoint presentations and educational hand fans, interactive discussions, post-test, and distribution of educational media. A total of 24 participants attended the activity, while 18 participants completed the pre-test and post-test evaluation. The average knowledge score increased from 81.1 before the education session to 93.3 after the intervention, indicating an average improvement of 12.2 points. These findings indicate that hypertension education can improve participants’ understanding of hypertension prevention, healthy lifestyles, medication adherence, and routine blood pressure monitoring.
