Abstract

Radicalism is very contradictory to the values of Islamic teachings. Islam upholds the principles of tolerance, peace, and the principle of respecting one's beliefs. This study aims to analyze and find ideal conceptual ideas for preventing student radicalism through the role of teachers in schools from a genealogical perspective. This study uses a qualitative approach with a type of descriptive-analytic. In order to track historical traces and provide answers to the radicalism issue, the genealogical data analysis technique is utilized to examine the content of pertinent sources. The results of this study indicate that, genealogically, Islamic Religious Education teachers in schools have an important role in preventing radicalism because the main mission of Islamic Religious Education teachers is to teach Islam contextually, Islamic tolerance, and peace-loving Islam through efforts to internalize Islamic teachings that are in line with a sense of nationalism so that a generation with noble character is formed. In addition, Islamic Religious Education teachers also carry out the learning process by adhering to 5 main principles, namely respect for others, moderation, respect for creators, tolerance, and fairness.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines Qur’anic memorization education at PP. Bustanul Huffadz Assaidiyah Sampang, Madura, as a solution for strengthening national resilience in an era of social change through the genealogical approach of Michel Foucault. This study aims to examine Quran memorization as not only a process of memorizing the Quran, but also a medium for shaping disciplined, religious, and productive students. This research employs a qualitative method through library research and observation of Madurese pesantren traditions. The findings reveal three forms of power operating within tahfidz education. First, the pastoral power of the kiai instills religious values, nationalism, love for the homeland, and environmental awareness. Second, pesantren discipline through memorization deposits and communal control forms students who are orderly, responsible, and socially resilient. Third, pesantren biopower regulates students’ daily lives and learning patterns, producing healthy and productive generations. The study also finds that Qur’anic memorization education contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in education, social development, and environmental awareness. Therefore, the tahfidz tradition in Madura can be understood as a soft infrastructure that strengthens ideological, social, economic, and cultural resilience in supporting Indonesia Emas 2045 amid contemporary social transformation.

Abstract

Qur’an teaching methods have shifted from traditional face-to-face talaqqi-musyafahah to digital systems. While previous studies focused on technical efficiency, few examined how digital media affects sanad continuity, student etiquette (adab), and teacher-student spiritual relationships. This study aims to map this transformation, analyze digital integration challenges, and formulate a hybrid pedagogical model for Qur’an instruction. A qualitative case study was conducted at SDI Al-Barokah, Pamekasan, from February to April 2026. Primary data were gathered with semi-structured interviews with 4 certified teachers and 12 students, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, validated through triangulation and member-checking. The research reveals three main findings. First, the transformation evolved across three phases: traditional talaqqi-musyafahah, modern-classical modular, and hybrid-digital. Second, digital integration presents three major challenges: reduced tajwid accuracy, weakened adab, and a strained teacher-student bond. Third, the study introduces the Hybrid Talaqqi Framework to bridge traditional methods and digitalization. In this model, technology serves as a self-directed learning tool, while face-to-face sessions remain essential for validating recitation and instilling character. A structured blend of in-person and digital elements is crucial for preserving sanad continuity while leveraging technological flexibility. Practically, this study proposes a curriculum framework with a 60:40 ratio based on the Hybrid Talaqqi Framework for Islamic schools undergoing similar digital transformations.
