Abstract

Yaqowiyu is one syncretism practice that still survives to this day in Indonesia. Ritual held every “Sapar” evolved since this days of Islamic Mataram. The purpose of the ritual is to remember the great merit of Ki Ageng Gribig, one of the missionaries of Islam in Jatinom Klaten during the reign of the “Sultan Agung Hanyokrokusumo”. Yaqowiyu ritual uniqueness lies in deployment “apem” in peak ceremony, which is around cake made of rice flour with coconut pieces in the middle. This research aims to reveal the meaning of Yaqowiyu. Research methods used are observation, life history interviews and historical method is to do an analysis of the documents. The results showed that Javanese people is still strong believe in animism. Yaqowiyu interpreted as a ritual to mantain the safety and peace embodied by the behavior of “ngalap berkah”. “Apem” cake meant as a tool to realize their request. But on the other hand, Yaqowiyu also be used as a propaganda strategy to spread the religion of Islam. At this point, Yaqowiyu also be interpreted as a tourist commodity that can be sold.

Abstract

This article focuses on the views and dynamics of thought among the students at the Situbondo Islamic Boarding School. The research was conducted at Ma’had Aly Islamic Boarding School Salafiyyah Syafi’iyyah Situbondo, a productive Islamic boarding school publishing legal opinions and becoming a barometer in the East and Madura region. This study examines the issues of inter-religious relations reflected in the students’ legal arguments. The research is a qualitative study with a primary focus on a literature review of the legal views published by the boarding school, supported by semi-structured interviews. The research material is the legal opinions of the boarding school. The primary source of the research is published legal arguments, while the secondary source is books or other academic works related to the central theme of the study, which is the history of Islamic boarding schools, inter-religious relations, and models of legal discovery. The research results at Situbondo’s Ma’had Aly Islamic Boarding School show a more liberal perspective in addressing inter-religious issues. Ma’had Aly allows non-Muslim leaders and marriages to members of other religions and applies a method of legal discovery supported by istimbath istislahi and kulliyah principles. Both show that Ma’had Aly has a more open and inclusive perspective in addressing inter-religious issues.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to present a typology of Pesantren in the current modern era based on the basic ideas of each Pesantren. This study is essential as part of efforts to dynamize the development of Pondok Pesantren in Indonesia. Design/methods/approach – Descriptive qualitative study is the method used in this research. The informants in this study are the leaders of Islamic boarding schools across Java. The data collection process uses in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The data analysis process is based on Milles Huberman’s data analysis. Findings – The typology formed from the results of observations is that there are three Pesantren, namely the first Pesantren, which remains restraining learning and preserves the classical Islamic inheritance with all educational instruments. Second, Pondok Pesantren accommodates the two mainstreams of thought, the social modernity and the social-humanity tradition, by founding official/formal schools or education and combining two intellectual traditions between Islamic tradition and Western tradition. Third, Pondok Pesantren developed the learning towards religious books or Kitab Kuning beyond the initial basis of the madhab era (The era of the school of scientific thought about Muslim laws). Research implications/limitations – this research has implications for developing the broader characteristics of Islamic boarding schools. In addition, a complete understanding of the Islamic Boarding School was obtained. This study has limitations in the aspects observed. This study only observes the type of Islamic Boarding School typology seen from the form of educational thought that is developed. Practical implications – This study provides a newer perspective regarding the typology of developing Pesantren and explains the importance of the role of Pesantren in the discourse of Islamic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the effectiveness of student learning outcomes through evaluating the learning outcomes of full day and boarding school program students in PJOK subjects which are divided into male groups and female groups. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach. The subjects of this research were 52 full day program students and 42 boarding school program students. This research uses observation, interview and documentation data collection techniques. The results of the research show that there is a difference in the learning outcomes of students in the full day program and the boarding school program with the average score for the male group in the full day program for knowledge scores and practice scores respectively 90.6 and 88.49 and the average score for the male group in the program boarding school for knowledge scores and practice scores respectively 92 and 88.72 while the average score for the full day program girls group for knowledge scores and practice scores was 90 and 89.3 respectively and the average score for the girls group boarding school program for knowledge scores and practice scores respectively 91 and 89.9. Conclusion, the boarding school program has a better level of effectiveness compared to the full day program as indicated by the average score of boarding school program students which is higher than the score of full day program students. Abstract

This study argues that education of Sufism values ​​in the teaching of the Syadziliyyah order is able to form a moderate religious attitude of former thugs in Solo. Humanist and family values ​​make this group of former thugs accept diversity and various Nusantara traditions. Teachings that do not focus on Islamic politics make them accept the 1945 Constitution and Pancasila. They can cooperate with various elements of government from the center to the lowest level. Group activities that show a moderate attitude are activities based on social and personal benefits that include charity and disaster rescue activities by forming team called Juba Rescue. This study is a qualitative study with data collection techniques including interviews, observations and documentation. Determination of respondents using purposive sampling techniques with the criteria of founder, mentor, and active members. Data is analyzed through three stages, namely; data reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions.

Abstract

Seni berbasis agama, salah satunya seni kaligrafi Arab, semakin hari semakin tidak diminati oleh masyarakat, sehingga seni ini memiliki peran penting untuk ditingkatkan dan dikembangkan, khususnya di dunia pendidikan. Untuk itu, pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas kreativitas penulisan seni lukis kaligrafi Arab bagi anak-anak usia pendidikan dasar di Koripan 1 Dlingo Bantul Yogyakarta. Pengabdi melakukan beberapa langkah dalam mengimplementasikan pelatihan ini. Metode yang digunakan pengabdi adalah metode ceramah, tanya jawab, dan demonstrasi. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga metode di atas dapat meningkatkan kreativitas anak dalam penulisan lukis kaligrafi sesuai dengan standar kaidah khat yang benar. Hal ini karena pengabdi mengimplementasikan teori manajemen dengan baik, yakni sebelum melakukan pelatihan, pengabdi membuat tahapan persiapan. Lalu, melakukan tahapan implementasi dengan berbagai strategi dan metode. Di akhir acara, pengabdi melakukan evaluasi dengan pihak-pihak terkait tentang tindak lanjut dari kegiatan ini ke depannya.

Abstract

Kegiatan PKM ini  bertujuan membantu pengasuh dan pengurus asrama  Miftahul Huda  dalam mengatasi santri yang kesulitan membaca Al-Qur’an. Lokasi kegiatan di asrama Miftahul Huda, jadwal pelaksanaannya adalah setelah shalat subuh berjamaah, mulai pukul 05.10 – 06.10 menit. Proses terdiri dari tiga bagian: (1) tahap persiapan dimana tim PKM menyiapkan segala keperluan, (2) tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan yang mencakup kegiatan awal  salam pembuka dan do’a, kegiatan inti terdiri dari empat sesi yaitu : sesi pertama dimana ustadz/tim PKM membaca ayat Al-qur’an santri menyimak, sesi kedua dimana seluruh santri membaca ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an yang telah dibacakan sebelumnya oleh tim PKM. Sesi ketiga  dimana santri secara bergiliran membaca Al-Qur’an di hadapan tim PKM. Sesi keempat pemberian materi tambahan. (3) tahap evaluasi program. Hasil evaluasi tahap akhir  menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode sorogan dalam pembelajaran Al-Qur’an terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’an. Mereka juga mengalami peningkatan  pemahaman terhadap ilmu tajwid.

Abstract

A single-phase axial flux generator with a star-shaped stator is required to explore the optimal use of rainwater energy as a renewable energy source. Untuk eksperimen, jumlah coils dan diameternya diubah. 25 coils dan 50 coils with 0.4 mm diameter and 25 coils and 40 coils with 0.5 mm diameter were designed. Generator performance will be tested under load and no load conditions at 600 rpm to 2000 rpm. The test results indicate that, for a single-phase axial generator running at 2.4W output conditions, increasing the number of windings impacts the voltage induced by the generator and that the number of stator windings influences the quantity of induced voltage, current, and power. Test findings with various winding variations, employing a 4.8V 0.5A or 2.4W light bulb load, demonstrate that an increase in winding count leads to an increase in electrical output
