Abstract

Halal products generally can be seen from the Halal Certificate and or Halal Label on the product packaging. However, halal products often are sold with products that have not been guaranteed to the Halal in one place of display such as in supermarkets or the market, so it can’t be known the halalness of the product. To know halal and thayyib products, knowledge of foodstuffs are classified as halal and thayyib is needed. The purpose of this Community Service (PKM) activity is to socialize and educate related halal and thayyib products, the ingredients used in the product manufacturing process, and the halal critical point of each ingredient and or product. This form of activity is in the form of education and socialization about halal and thayyib materials and or products that enter, circulate, and be traded in the territory of Indonesia. To see the success rate and satisfaction of participants in this PKM activity are done through pretest, posttest, and questionnaire. The result of this PKM is that the participants can understand that the products that enter, circulate, and are traded in the territory of Indonesia are syubhat, so they must be halal certified. In addition, the participants of the PKM program can know and or distinguish what ingredients or products are halal or haram, as well as which are thayyib and which are not thayyib.

Abstract

Pneumonia causes 2.56 million global deaths annually, with current therapies limited by antimicrobial resistance and adverse effects. Traditional medicinal plants offer multi-target potential through anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory mechanisms. This review synthesizes knowledge on molecular biomarkers in pneumonia pathogenesis and evaluates therapeutic potential of medicinal plants, particularly Coleus amboinicus. A comprehensive literature search was conducted across PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science covering publications from January 2000 to June 2025. Inclusion criteria encompassed studies investigating molecular biomarkers, pneumonia therapeutic pathways, or medicinal plants with respiratory therapeutic properties. Narrative synthesis was employed due to study heterogeneity. Of 1,247 articles identified, 10 studies met inclusion criteria and were utilized in the analysis. Key inflammatory biomarkers included IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β, increasing from 5.05 mg/dL (controls) to 25.30 mg/dL in bacterial pneumonia. Neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation emerged as a central mechanism (47.36% of protein targets). Coleus amboinicus demonstrated 139 bioactive compounds with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity and antioxidant properties (DPPH EC₅₀ 32.67-152.8 µg/mL). Traditional medicinal plants, particularly Coleus amboinicus, modulate key molecular pathways in pneumonia through sophisticated multi-target mechanisms, supporting integration of biomarker-guided approaches in contemporary respiratory care.

Abstract

Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related morbidity and mortality worldwide. Increasing evidence suggests that oxidative stress and autophagy are interconnected biological processes involved in tumor initiation, progression, therapeutic resistance, and patient survival. However, their combined role as an integrated prognostic biomarker panel has not been comprehensively reviewed. This narrative review aimed to summarize current evidence on the interaction between oxidative stress and autophagy pathways and to evaluate the clinical potential of their biomarkers for prognostic prediction in CRC. This review was based on peer-reviewed open access publications from major scientific databases between 2019 and 2025. Studies that have assessed oxidative stress biomarkers, such as 8-hydroxy-2′-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG), 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE), nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (NRF2), Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (KEAP1), and autophagy-related biomarkers, including microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 beta (LC3B) and sequestosome 1 (p62/SQSTM1) were critically synthesized. Current evidence suggests a role for oxidative stress and autophagy dysregulation in the development of CRC. Increased expression of LC3B, p62/SQSTM1, NRF2, and 8-OHdG is always associated with advanced disease, treatment resistance, tumor recurrence, and poor overall survival. Integrating biomarkers from both pathways appears to improve prognostic accuracy compared with individual biomarkers. Combined assessment of oxidative stress and autophagy biomarkers represents a promising prognostic approach for CRC. Nevertheless, large prospective studies are required to validate their clinical utility before routine implementation in precision oncology.

Abstract

Abstract

Water is the most important component of life. The function of water for living beings cannot be replaced by any other substance. One of the main issues currently faced regarding waterresources is the declining quality of water for both domestic and non-domestic purposes.According to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No.492/Menkes/PER/IV/2010 concerning drinking water requirements, it states that safe andhealthy drinking water for consumption must meet requirements that include physical, chemical, and bacteriological criteria. Strict requirements are imposed on drinking waterbecause they are directly related to the biological processes of the body that determine humanquality of life. The consumption rate of drinking water is very high in tropical regions. This isdue to the high humidity, and people in tropical areas require a large amount of drinkingwater to quench their thirst. Therefore, high-quality drinking water is necessary to maintainhealth. The dangers or health risks resulting from the decline in the physical quality of watercan have negative impacts on health. The utilization of groundwater remains a mainstay forcommunities in meeting their domestic and non-domestic water needs. The increasingpopulation has led to a decline in the quality of clean water due to human activities that causeenvironmental pollution. Sources of groundwater pollution include industrial activities, wastedisposal sites, mining areas, residential areas, salt industries, agricultural activities, andlivestock farming.
