Abstract

The aim of the study is to know the difference between students learning styles. The study was held in the second grade of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Attaubah Batu Bantar Pandeglang. The research method of this study is a causal-comparative (ex post facto) using a purposive sampling technique. The 30 students were involved in the research. They were classified into three different learning styles through a test. The Percentage and bifilar linear regression analysis were used to analyze the collected data. The majority of students had a visual learning style according to the data analysis. The other two are kinesthetic and auditory learning style. 54,9% of students' English achievement is influenced by learning styles and 45,1% is influenced by other factors. According to the data, it can be concluded that the visual learning style is the best way to get a better comprehension of reading skills.

Abstract

Penelitian PKM ini bertujuan untuk memberikan Sosialisasi Pendampingan keraganman budaya yang ada pada Suku Baduy Mata Kuliah Sociolinguistic. Pengabdian ini juga mencoba membangun wawasan kebudayaan dengan memberikan sosialisasi pengenalan  budaya materi etnograpi pada mata kuliah sociolinguistics di Suku Baduy dengan harapan Mahasiswa mampu memahami budaya Etnografi di Suku Baduy, adat istiadat, ritul yang selalu dilakukan. Selain itu banyak dikalangan mahasiswa tidak mengetahui kebudayaan suku baduy padahal suku baduy merupakan salah satu icon yang berada di provinsi Banten. Ethnografi adalah ilmu yang mempelajari tentang masyarakat sosial dimana kita berinteraksi langsung dengan respondent melalui wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi bahkan kami tinggal disana dalam beberpa hari untuk mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal.  Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah kualitatif Deskriptif dengan. Metode kualitatif adalah salah satu metode yang diperuntukan untuk memahami, menguraikan, dan bahkan menjelaskan fenomena social. Hasil yang di dapatkan dalam PKM ini adalah Mahasiswa sangat tertarik dan antusis dalam kegiatan tersebut karena masyarakat baduy memiliki keunikan tersendiri dari masyarakat yang lain. Abstract

Abstract: Eka Dewi Fithrotunnisa, Eneng Liah Khoiriyah, Dede Imtihanudin., The Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) and Critical Reading on Students’ Reading Comprehension (A Quasi-experimental Research in the Second Grade Students of Private Junior High School; MTs Muhammadiyah I Ciputat, SMP Darussalam and SMP Islamiyah Ciputat). This research was aimed at proving empirically the effect of collaborative strategic reading (CSR) and critical reading on students’ reading comprehension at the second grade of Private Junior High School in Ciputat. The quantitative method with quasi-experimental design was undertaken to analyze the effect of CSR and critical reading on students’ reading comprehension. The population in this research was all students of three of Private Junior High School in Ciputat in academic year 2022/2023 consisted of 8 classes in which each class had about 20-25 students. Because of time limitation, the target population was grade 8 students. In MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Ciputat is only consisted of 3 classes, SMP Darussalam Ciputat is consisted of 3 classes and SMP Islamiyah is consisted 2 classes. Meanwhile, the samples of this research were two classes of each school at second grade students; one class as experimental class comprised of 20 students, and the other as control class comprised of 20 students as well. These samples were determined by using intake sampling technique because the samples taken were the classes that already existed in that school. It aimed to not interfere the teaching and learning process and procedures that had been established in that school. Reading comprehension data was obtained through multiple choice test. Meanwhile, the data of critical reading was gained through the Essay Test. The results of this study revealed that: (1) there was an effect of Collaborative Strategic Reading on Students’ Reading Comprehension, (2) there was an effect of Critical Reading toward students’ reading comprehension, and (3) there were interactions between CSR and critical reading toward students’ reading comprehension. Abstract

This research aims to conduct a quantitative analysis of the social influence of outsiders on the lifestyle changes of the Outer Baduy community. The Outer Baduy community is known for maintaining their distinctive traditions and lifestyle. However, globalization and interaction with outside society can have a significant impact on their lifestyle. This research method adopts a quantitative approach by using a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire distributed to members of the Outer Baduy community who have interacted with the outside community. Data collection was conducted in the settlement area of Outer Baduy and its surroundings. The collected data were analyzed using statistical techniques such as regression to identify the relationship and significance level of the social influence of the outside community on lifestyle changes. The result shows that there is a significant relationship between interaction with outside community and lifestyle change of Outer Baduy community. Factors such as education, social media, and outside cultural influences play an important role in this change. While there are positive changes in lifestyle such as increased access to education, there are also aspects that raise concerns, such as the potential loss of traditional values. This research contributes to the understanding of quantitative social impact on the Outer Baduy community due to interaction with the outside community. The implication of this research can be used as the basis for developing a more targeted policy in maintaining the sustainability of culture and traditional values of the Outer Baduy community, while utilizing the potential positive changes that may occur in the process of interaction with the outside community.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of word mapping technique on vocabulary acquisition of 8th grade students of SMPT Mulia Hati Insani Warungunung. The quantitative research method was conducted using a pseudo-experimental design. The sample of this study amounted to 62 students who were divided into experimental and control classes. Tests were used to collect data on students' vocabulary acquisition scores, and t-test was used to analyze the data. For the experimental class, the average post-test score was (75.35), higher than the pre-test score (34.81). From the independent sample t-test analysis, the value of t count (11.096) > t table (1.671) was obtained. It’s mean Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The effect size value of 2.814 indicates a very large influence. In conclusion, there is a significant effect on speaking ability between students who are taught using the word mapping method and those who are not taught using the word mapping method.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of cultural practices on language learning, focusing on how cultural practices, family structures, and societal values affect the way individuals acquire and use a second language. A mixed-method approach was employed, including both qualitative data from semi-structured interviews and participant observation, as well as quantitative data from language proficiency tests and surveys. The findings reveal significant differences in language acquisition patterns across cultural groups, with collectivist cultures emphasizing formal structures and group-oriented learning, while individualistic cultures highlight self-expression and independent study. Cultural values also influence motivation, peer interaction, and classroom dynamics. The study concludes that cultural practices plays a crucial role in shaping language learning experiences and suggests that educators should tailor their approaches to meet the needs of diverse cultural learners.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilakukan di SD Negeri Cikaduen, Desa Cikaduen,Kecamatan Cipeucang, Kabupaten Pandeglang, untuk mengatasi masalahperundungan (bullying) yang berdampak negatif pada perkembanganpsikologis dan akademis siswa. Program edukasi pencegahan perundungan dilaksanakan melalui Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik (KKN-T) oleh mahasiswa STKIP Syekh Manshur. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif, melibatkan observasi, wawancara, diskusi, dan kampanye anti�perundungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penurunan frekuensiperundungan, peningkatan kesadaran siswa dan guru tentang pentingnya pencegahan perundungan, serta terciptanya lingkungan sekolah yang lebih inklusif dan mendukung. Program ini berhasil menciptakan perubahan sosial yang positif, membentuk budaya interaksi yang lebih inklusif di kalangansiswa.
