Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to figure out how character education for early childhood carried out through gending rare, the place, time, and rhythm of gending rare is sung for character education to early childhood in Desa Adat Tenganan Pegringsingan. This study used a qualitative ethnographic research methods. The study found that the education of characters that can be educated through gending rare: individually such as: the religious character education, hard working, self-contained, responsibilities, strong, humble, honest, helpful, willing to sacrifice, and joyous; socially character education such as: character education togetherness, love of the homeland, and care for the environment.Character educationin early childhood through gending rare done at home, in the community and in schools, and parents sung during lull children, bathing the child, when the child is fed, and when of early childhood play with the peers or parents or guardians, and rhythm gending rare that play a role in character education in early childhood among others, melodious rhythm generally sung by parent, and rhythm chirpy when sung by early childhood during game play to add to the splendor. Abstract

Hindu religious education is the implementation and internalization of values originating from the Vedic scriptures and other Hindu religious scriptures. One of the Hindu religious scripture that teaches about how to shape the behavior of superhuman children is the Nitisastra. The purpose of this study was to describe the application of Hindu religious educational values in the Nitisastra scripture to shape the behavior of the superhuman children. The method used is qualitative research, with data collection techniques namely observation, interviews and literature study. The results of the study show that Nitisastra contains knowledge about noble values and views of life in society that are worthy of being used as a way of life. In a family, naturally someone yearns for the birth of an ideal son according to the teachings of Hinduism, namely the son of suputra. A child who is virtuous, intelligent, wise, and proud of his family can be called a son of a son. The Nitisastra scripture can be used as a guide for parents to educate their children, because nowadays there are many cases of children who do not respect their parents. The Nitisastra scripture explains that the role of the family (father and mother) is to educate and shape the behavior of the sons of suputra so that one day they will be able to become the next generation.

Abstract

Honesty is an important behavior for everyone. Until now there is still news about corruptors, meaning there are still dishonest people. Honesty cannot be taught when they are adults. Honesty must be instilled in children from an early childhood. This study aims to re-explore the benefits of gending rare because Hindus, especially those domiciled in Jakarta and its surroundings, are less familiar with it, even though gending rare is effective as an educational medium for children. Gending Rare is known to be full of educational values. This study examines Gending Meong-meong as a medium for instilling honesty values ​​in early childhood. This study is a qualitative study that explores and describes the opinions of teachers at Dewi Srikandi Lestari Bekasi PAUD regarding gending Meong-meong. Data collection through interviews with Dewi Srikandi Lestari PAUD teachers as teachers and parents, and observations on gending Meong-meong. The results of the study of honesty values ​​in Gending Meong-meong are satya wacana, satya laksana, satya mitra and satya hredaya; and the time to sing Gending Meong-meong to early childhood to instill honesty values ​​is when children are relaxing, playing, studying and going to bed. At that time is the right time to sing and instill honesty to early childhood. The contribution of this research to the world of education is that there is Gending Meong-meong which is effective as a medium for instilling honesty values ​​for early childhood. Therefore, this Gending must be preserved and required as an educational medium by teachers at school and parents.
