Abstract

Ownership of assets can be assessed as the success of individual achievement in his life goals. It certainly can make individuals feel satisfied with the efforts they have made. Life satisfaction is one of the dimensions used by BPS to measure happiness. Thus, this study will analyze the effect of asset ownership on happiness. The data used in this study are data from the Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) wave 5 of 2014. Analysis of the model in this study uses logistic regression for analysis in Java and outside Java Island. This study found that ownership of assets (jewelry, savings, vehicles, receivables), health, gender of the head of the household, type of residential, mobile phone, television, and access to the internet have a significant effect on household happiness. At the same time, other assets (houses/other buildings, land), number of household members, type of floor, and residential area (urban, rural) have no effect in determining of happiness of the household. The finding in this study also states that the probability of household happiness will be higher outside Java Island.

Abstract

Menjalankan usaha sendiri bagi sebagian orang dapat menjadi kegiatan alternatif dari bekerja. Dalam keputusan seseorang untuk memiliki usaha, banyak faktor yang melatarbelakanginya baik dari faktor internal maupun eksternal. Dengan menggunakan data dari Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) gelombang 5, penelitian ini melihat dua model usaha yaitu usaha pertanian dan non pertanian. Unit analisis penelitian ini adalah rumah tangga di Indonesia dengan banyak melibatkan variabel-variabel yang terkait dengan Kepala Rumah Tangga (KRT). Metodel yang digunakan adalah cross section dengan regresi logistik. Hasil temuan dari penelitian ini adalah status pernikahan, daerah tempat tinggal, jumlah anggota rumah tangga, akses internet dan status kepegawaian memengaruhi seseorang untuk membuka usaha pertanian maupun non pertanian. Selain itu, faktor genetik di mana hal ini melihat apakah ayahnya seorang wirausaha yang memiliki usaha sendiri atau tidak dan juga suku menjadi penentu usaha pertanian. Sedangkan usia dan pendidikan merupakan faktor penentu di dalam usaha non pertanian.

Abstract

Isu ketidaksetaraan dalam gender tidak hanya dilihat dari bentuk fisik yang berbeda, akan tetapi kesenjangan tersebut mengarah pada perbedaan peran, kegiatan, serta hal lainnya yang terjadi di kehidupan sehari-hari. Rumah tangga yang dipimpin oleh perempuan cenderung lebih banyak berkerja pada sektor informal, memiliki tingkat pendidikan dan pendapatan yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kesenjangan antara pekerja formal dan informal, kesejahteraan rumah tangga yang diukur dari kepala rumah tangga berdasarkan gender dan status pernikahan. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder yang berasal dari Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) tahun 2014, dengan analisis Two Stage Least Square (2SLS) dengan menggunakan Instrumental Variable (IV). Temuan dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa Kepala Rumah Tangga (KRT) yang bekerja di sektor formal mempunyai kesejahteraan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan KRT yang bekerja di sektor informal. Selain itu, KRTP cenderung mengalami probabilitas untuk mengalami kerugian dibandingkan KRTL. KRTP yang berstatus janda memiliki kesempatan yang lebih besar untuk menjadi miskin dibandingkan dengan kelompok lainnya. Di sisi lain, adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara wanita pekerja informal terhadap pengeluaran per kapita. Kesimpulan untuk kebijakan dari permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah pemerintah Jawa Timur perlu memperhatikan pilar utama pembangunan manusia yaitu dengan mengurangi gap pendidikan, khususnya bagi anak perempuan. Abstract

Many people in Indonesia make the decision to open a business, especially on small and medium scales. The decision to have a business is certainly motivated by various factors. Using household survey data from the fifth Indonesia Family Life Survey, this study aims to analyze the factors driving Indonesia’s household decisions to open an agricultural business. The data in this study is cross-section with the logistic regression method. The findings of this study indicate that a person's decision to open an agricultural business is strongly driven by hereditary factors from their parents and the length of education. Other factors influencing the decision to open an agricultural business are ethnicity, gender, marital status, age, and area of residence.

Abstract

One of the dimensions that the BPS uses to gauge happiness is life satisfaction. The elements influencing home happiness in Indonesia are examined in this study. Households with secondary data from the Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) comprise the study's sample. This study's model analysis makes use of logistic regression. According to the study's findings, possessions including a home, a car, savings, and even jewelry are among the things that influence household satisfaction in Indonesia. In addition, other factors such as health, ownership of electronic goods, internet access and the area of residence outside Java will increase household happiness. Overall, this study concludes that the more assets, the healthier the family condition and the easier the access, the more satisfied and happy the household will feel.

Abstract

Running a business in a halal and blessed way is a necessity for Muslim entrepreneurs. To realize a good business, of course, good Islamic financial education is needed. The Service Team from FEB Unila took the initiative to provide training for MSMEs in Bandar Lampung City in the form of introducing sharia financial literacy so businesses can continue and comply with sharia values. We package this workshop activity in the Focus Group Discussion and Lecture methods, it allows participants to actively participate in this activity. We hoped that after participating in this activity, participants will open their horizons in recognizing the concept of Islamic finance, Islamic banking products and open access to capital from Islamic financial institutions.
