Abstract

Sebagai salah satu kelompok sosial, kaum muda kontemporer mencoba menunjukkan identitas khas dan perbedaan mereka  dengan kelompok lain di masyarakat. Salah satu caranya yakni melalui tindakan konsumsi. Dompet digital yang merupakan layanan yang memanfaatkan teknologi terkini turut digunakan untuk mengomunikasikan identitas tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelisik lebih jauh mengenai praktik konsumsi dompet digital di kalangan kaum muda kontemporer. Menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi, penelitian ini berusaha untuk membedah mengenai  bagaimana kaum muda kontemporer memaknai konsumsi dompet digital dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dan observasi dengan mengambil sejumlah informan dari wilayah DI Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa konsumsi dompet digital yang dilakukan oleh kaum muda kontemporer tidak sekadar diambil nilai gunanya, melainkan juga untuk mengomunikasikan identitas mereka, mencari pengalaman bersenang-senang, hingga digunakan untuk masuk ke dalam pergaulan sosial.   As a social group, contemporary youth try to show their distinctive identity and differences from other groups in society. One way is through the act of consumption. Digital wallets or e-wallets, which are technology services are also used to communicate this identity. This study further investigates the practice of digital wallet consumption among contemporary youth.  Using a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, this study seeks to dissect how contemporary young people interpret digital wallet consumption in their daily lives.  Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and observations by taking several informants from the DI Yogyakarta region.  The study results show that the consumption of digital wallets by contemporary youth is not only taken for its usefulness but also to communicate their identity, seek fun experiences, and be used to enter into social interactions.

Abstract

Abstrak. Di tengah arus teknologi yang semakin canggih, keberadaan media cetak menjadi kian dipertanyakan. Banyak media cetak yang gulung tikar akibat tidak bisa lagi memenuhi kebutuhan operasional. Dari sisi konsumen, saat ini banyak pembaca yang memilih untuk beralih ke perangkat digital. Untuk bisa mempertahankan bisnisnya, media cetak banyak yang mulai memanfaatkan media sosial, salah satunya dengan rutin melakukan live streaming. Penelitian ini berusaha untuk mengulik mengenai bagaimana media cetak memanfaatkan kegiatan live streaming di media sosial guna mempertahankan bisnisnya dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Untuk mendapatkan data, peneliti melakukan wawancara dan observasi dengan mengambil informan dari 3 media, Bisnis Indonesia, Tribun Jogja dan Harian Jogja. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa live streaming dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif media cetak untuk tetap bertahan di tengah disrupsi teknologi. Adanya live streaming ini turut membawa perubahan terhadap kerja media cetak dan para pekerja yang ada di dalamnya. Wartawan yang sebelumnya hanya bertugas untuk membuat tulisan, saat ini juga harus menguasai cara kerja media baru. Abstract. In the midst of increasingly sophisticated technology, the existence of print media is increasingly questionable. Many print media have gone bankrupt because they can no longer meet operational needs. From the consumer side, currently many readers choose to switch to digital devices. In order to maintain their business, many print media have started to utilize social media, one of which is by routinely conducting live streaming. This study attempts to explore how print media utilizes live streaming activities on social media to maintain their business using qualitative methods. To obtain data, researchers conducted interviews and observations by taking informants from 3 media, Bisnis Indonesia, Tribun Jogja and Harian Jogja. The results of this study indicate that live streaming can be an alternative for print media to survive in the midst of technological disruption. The existence of live streaming has also brought changes to the work of print media and the workers in it. Journalists who were previously only tasked with writing, now also have to master how new media works.

Abstract

The 2024 Jakarta Regional Election (Pilkada) was marked by intense competition. One gubernatorial candidate pair, supported by only two political parties, emerged victorious over a rival pair backed by 16 parties. Another candidate pair also contested the election independently. The candidates competed fiercely to build strong political branding—not only through traditional campaigns but also by utilizing social media platforms such as Instagram and YouTube. This descriptive research explores how the candidate pairs developed their political branding and why it contributed to electoral success. Findings reveal that each pair shaped their brand based on personality, competencies, values, and the public image they intended to project. The winning pair, Pramono Anung and Rano Karno, owed their success to effective branding strategies involving self-identification, political product development, and strategic positioning. Their strong and consistent branding approach helped them connect with voters and ultimately secure victory in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

Abstract

Siapa yang benar-benar mengendalikan narasi ketika algoritma berbicara lebih tegas daripada manusia? Di era digital, pengaruh kecerdasan buatan (AI) tidak hanya bersifat teknologis, tetapi juga menentukan arah diskursus publik. Penelitian ini menelaah bagaimana OpenAI dan DeepSeek, dua aktor utama dalam ekosistem AI global, membentuk opini publik melalui komunikasi digital di Platform X. Dengan pendekatan Analisis Wacana Kritis (AWK) model Norman Fairclough, penelitian ini menganalisis teks, praktik diskursif, dan praktik sosial dari cuitan dan respons selama tahun 2025. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa OpenAI membangun narasi otoritas ilmiah dan etika AI, sementara DeepSeek mengusung retorika inovasi terbuka dan akses inklusif. Praktik wacana ini merefleksikan pergeseran otoritas digital yang dimediasi oleh kekuatan simbolik algoritmik. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya analisis kritis terhadap wacana teknologi dalam memahami relasi kuasa baru di ruang publik digital.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze audience reception of DeepSeek AI news coverage on Tempo.co, specifically to understand how Generation Z interprets and responds to issues surrounding artificial intelligence. The research employs Stuart Hall’s reception analysis using a qualitative approach. Data were examined through the encoding-decoding model to identify patterns of dominant, negotiated, and oppositional readings of the online news content. The findings reveal that Gen Z's perception of DeepSeek AI news on Tempo.co reflects dominant and negotiated positions. Gen Z readers critically interpret the reporting, focusing on word choice and the underlying narrative of the AI rivalry between ChatGPT and DeepSeek AI within the broader geopolitical tension between the United States and China. The meaning derived from the news is shaped by the readers' dynamic experiences and socio-cultural backgrounds. Furthermore, the reception of information occurs not only at the level of consciousness but also manifests in social practices, demonstrated by the strategic negotiation in the ethical and responsible use of AI

Abstract

The urgency of improving product marketing effectiveness in Musuk Village, Boyolali, arises because the Ceria Women Farmers Group (KWT Ceria) has been relying on face-to-face sales with limited reach and minimal visual appeal to attract potential buyers. The goal of this training is to enhance the knowledge and skills of KWT Ceria members in product photography and the use of e-commerce platforms to expand market access. The methods applied in this training include interactive lectures on the basic principles of product photography and digital marketing strategies, demonstrations of e-commerce applications, as well as hands-on practice in product photography and uploading photos to online platforms. The post-training evaluation results show a significant increase in participants' knowledge, enhanced technical skills in product photography, and deliverables such as a digital product catalog and e-commerce accounts. The findings demonstrate that product photography and digital marketing training can strengthen the competitive edge of KWT Ceria in the digital era. This training not only provided technical skills but also improved the members' ability to utilize technology to market products more widely and efficiently.

Abstract

Transportasi sebagai kebutuhan manusia untuk berpindah tempat meningkat pesat dengan ditemukannya mobil listrik. Mobil listrik menjadi topik yang menarik bagi Fitra Eri yang memiliki channel YouTube yang membahas tentang mobil listrik di Indonesia. Sebuah studi kasus mengkaji bagaimana peran Fitra Eri melalui channel YouTube miliknya dalam menyebarluaskan informasi terkait mobil listrik dengan mengkaji teori difusi inovasi milik Everett M. Rogers. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa Fitra Eri dapat digolongkan sebagai early adopter yang berani mencoba inovasi dan membagikan pengalamannya kepada masyarakat.
