Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa pada pokok bahasan bangun datar. Metode penelitian ini merupakan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan mendeskripsikan indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis mana saja yang paling mudah dan sukar untuk dikuasai siswa. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah  Siswa kelas VIII SMPN 7 Cimahi sebanyak 39 siswa. Insteumen yang digunakan yaitu soal tes kemampuan komunikasi matematik yang mengacu pada indikator kemampuan koneksi matematik. Berdasarkan analisis data bahwa siswa menguasai dengan baik indikator kemampuan koneksi dalam kemampuan siswa dalam mengenali hubungan pokok bahasan yang berbeda dalam matematika, dan menggunakan matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, serta siswa mengalami kesusahan pada indikator koneksi dalam menggunakan matematika dalam studi lainnya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the ability of mathematical connections in terms of self efficacy in Triangle and Segiempat material which is guided by the mathematical connection and self efficacy indicators. This research method is descriptive research by using qualitative approach. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri in Kabupaten Bandung. The subject of this research is the students of class VIII consisting of 20 students. The instrument used in this research is a matter of mathematical connection test, non test in the form of Self efficacy questionnaire, and interview. Based on the conclusions from the results of research and discussion in general can be concluded that the ability of mathematical connections in terms of self efficacy of junior high school students is the difference in the ability of mathematical connections at each level of student self efficacy. The ability of mathematical connections in review of the student's self efficacy indicator that is not met is to apply mathematics in other fields or in everyday life, to understand the equivalent representation of a mathematical concept or procedure, to seek the relationship of various representations of concepts, processes, or mathematical procedures, procedures with other procedures in the equivalent representation. Then for the Student Self Efficacy, in completing each statement given the average student replied that students are afraid of being wrong to work on the problem, and students feel unsure that the student can do the questions given

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to see the resilience of students in classes that use mathematical learning etnomatematika based assisted VBA for Microsoft Excel. The method used is qualitative descriptive. The population in this study are all junior high school students. Sample was taken by purposive sampling that junior high school students in one school in West Bandung as many as 31 students. The instruments used are questionnaires mathematical resilience. The result obtained is equal to 39% of the students already have a good resilience. The conclusions that aided etnomatematika based learning VBA for Microsoft Excel supports resilience mathematics achievement of students. Based on this, a very good learning this kind to be developed.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difficulties of students in solving the problem of polyhedron based on Van Hiele's thinking stages. The research method used is descriptive qualitative by giving essay test questions. The research subjects were 10 students from class IX E SMP Negeri 2 Cimahi. The results showed that 7 students were still at stage 0 (visualization), 2 students were at stage 1 (analysis) and only 1 person was at stage 2 or informal deduction. In this study, it was found that students who failed to reach the previous level would also fail to reach the next level. For stage 3 (deduction) and stage 4 (rigor) no student has been able to reach this stage. The factors that cause student difficulties are students still lacking the concept of polyhedron, unable to provide deductive conclusions and lack of skills and creativity from the concept of geometry in solving mathematical problems on polyhedron.

Abstract

The simple iteration material in the numerical methods course is material related to functions and derivatives. Apart from this, simple iteration material requires one or two initial guesses that do not require bracketing the roots. This method will produce a root approximation as a solution, which will show convergent or divergent results. The convergence criteria are influenced by the derived results and the initial guesses provided. Because of this, this research aims to analyze the results of student answers to prove the convergence criteria of a given simple iterative problem. The method used in this research is a case study, analyzing the results of the answers of five randomly selected students studying numerical methods courses. Based on the results of the analysis of the convergence criteria based on initial guesses, it was concluded that only 5 students could prove the convergence criteria correctly. In general, students made mistakes in deriving algebraic functions, carried out division operations, and incorrectly determined the convergence criteria because they only proved the possibility of the function. given so that students only focus on convergence criteria without carrying out iterative analysis.

Abstract

This research aims to see whether there is an increase in students' mathematical communication skills after being given learning using the discovery learning model. This research was carried out at MTsN 04 KBB in class VIII with a total of 20 students. The learning instruments and tools used are Pretest and Posttest questions as well as LKPD which contains material regarding circles and stages of discovery learning. The results of the data obtained will be analyzed and managed using 2 dependent sample analysis using a normality test first and followed by a paired t-test. The results of the analysis test show that there are significant differences and there are differences in the average results of the pre-test and post-test, and at the end it is shown that students' mathematical communication skills have increased.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low mathematical communication skills of high school students, this research was carried out at SMP Dharma Kartini in grade VII as many students. The instrument used was a mathematical communication ability description test. The purpose of this research is to improve students' mathematical communication skills and the achievement of students' learning goals using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by audiovisual media. The data from the study were processed using 2 independent samples using the normality test and the Monte Carlo test. The results of the analysis showed that grade VII junior high school students who used the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with the help of audiovisual media got a better increase in mathematical communication skills compared to students who used the conventional learning model. Furthermore, students who get an improvement in learning using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by audiovisual media also experience achievement in learning objectives.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is learning that prioritizes and facilitates student needs according to student characteristics, one of which is learning readiness, which consists of groups ready for challenges, understanding concepts and repeated concepts. From these three groups, it will be analyzed how learning obstacles occur in analyzing the circle concept. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with 15 research subjects. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the group of students who understand the concept and repeat the concept experience epistemological obstacles in understanding the relationship between the central angle and the circumferential angle, analyzing the area of a circle, analyzing the elements of a circle, and analyzing the relationship between the central angle and the area of the circle. Apart from that, students experience difficulty in representing the problems given because students are unable to find information and instructions from the questions given.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and examine the improvement of seventh-grade junior high school students’ mathematical reasoning abilities using the problem-based learning model assisted by VBA for Excel, compared to the conventional learning model. The research method used is an experimental method with a quasi-experimental design, consisting of two groups, the experimental class and the control class. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Batujajar, with the sample comprising of class VII-D as the experimental class and class VII-B as the control class, each with 29 students. The instruments and learning materials used include a mathematical reasoning ability test and student worksheets (LKPD) containing material on plane figures according to the stages of problem-based learning. The data obtained will be analyzed using inferential statistics. The results of this research indicate that the improvement in students’ mathematical reasoning abilities using the problem-based learning model assisted by VBA for excel is better than that of those using conventional learning.
