Abstract

Abstract

This study offers new perspective in viewing tourism as literature. There was a correlation involving oral literature form as one of tourism attractions. Oral literature-based tourism development was presented in Panji’s story mythology which could be found at Kampung Budaya Polowijen (Polowijen Cultural Village). The icon framing of Ragil Kuning started to be developed and shaped in performing arts and festivals. However, when covid-19 pandemic happened, it significantly effected tourism existence.  In this context, tourism became a sector which was susceptible because of the pandemic. But, on the other hand, tourism sector could also become strong or resilient. The resilience was shown by the strategic efforts done by Kampung Budaya Polowijen’s society to develop digital-based cultural tourism and strengthen the series of Ragil Kuning narraton as the tourism attraction of Kampung Budaya Polowijen.

Abstract

Dieng Kulon is a potential tourism village that attracts tourists. In addition to their tourism potential, the Dieng people have traditions and culture: ruwatan, ganenan, and pawon. Ruwatan is a Dieng “rambut gimbal” shaving procession. Children in Dieng who have dreadlocks are the chosen children and the incarnation of Kyai Kolodete (Dieng's ancestor). This Ruwatan, which was later managed by the Pokdarwis Dieng Pandawa, became an annual cultural festival called the Dieng Culture Festival. The results of this study are that the Dieng Culture Festival provides benefits to the local community because the tourism industry in Dieng Kulon is starting to be managed properly. The management uses the community based tourism method brought by Pokdarwis Dieng Pandawa and is implemented in the development of Dieng tourism. The CBT method is considered to have been successfully implemented, although not completely because some people are still refused to participate in Dieng tourism. Stakeholders consisting of several actors collaborate and participate. In CBT there are dimensions that need to be produced, namely the economic dimension, social dimension, political dimension, cultural dimension, and environmental dimension. These five dimensions can be seen through the process and method of the Dieng Pandawa Pokdarwis implementing CBT in Dieng tourism. Ganenan and pawon are a local community tradition to warm the body and a way for the community to strengthen interaction. From this, how the culture and traditions in the community are managed by the Pokdarwis Dieng Pandawa with the concept of CBT so that community participation is the main point. Community participation is the main gate of tourism development with the CBT concept.

Abstract

The utilization of apple plant waste as a natural dye extract is important for the development of creative products using safer dye materials. Madiredo, as an apple cultivation economic zone, produces waste from the apple processing process. This apple plant waste can be utilized as a high-value dye extract using ecoprint techniques or combined with batik. This initiative is expected to foster the creativity of women in the Madiredo village PKK (Family Welfare Movement) to achieve economic independence. In further development, it will also be innovated with Madiredo's distinctive motifs while highlighting the cultural potential of Madiredo. Additionally, the use of natural dyes in textile products can address the issues arising from the use of synthetic dyes, which, unbeknownst to many, have the potential to cause environmental pollution. Furthermore, this serves as a means of cultural promotion and branding for Madiredo Village. The outcomes of this partnership program include the utilization and processing of apple plant waste and Madiredo Village's natural resources, as well as the development of environmentally friendly textile product designs to enhance the economic well-being of the partner community. Additionally, the results of this community service program are presented not only in the form of a final report but also as scientific publications in national journals or proceedings.
