Abstract

Abstract

A market is a place where buying and selling transactions take place between sellers and buyers at a specific time and place. This definition encompasses several key elements: the presence of sellers, buyers, a specific place and time, and a transaction agreement. Such markets are also known as traditional markets. "Surprise" or "overflow" markets are markets that open suddenly and briefly. "Surprise" or "overflow" markets are increasingly common in various locations. There are many reasons why people enjoy shopping at these markets. One example is the very low prices, especially compared to shopping at supermarkets or malls. Over time, with the increasing demand for basic necessities, the "surprise" market, located along the road in the Vila Mutiara Cikarang housing complex, has also experienced gradual development. The number of traders and buyers has increased, the trading space has expanded, and transaction times have decreased. This "surprise" market is located along the road in the Vila Mutiara Cikarang housing complex, starting from the second block to the end of the road exiting the housing complex. The "surprise" market operates during peak hours, especially in the morning, when this time is not only for market activities but also for many activities such as going to work, school, and other activities.

Abstract

In general, the condition of drainage systems in various cities across Indonesia is facing a wide range of problems. An effective drainage system plays a crucial role in preventing floods and waterlogging, especially in densely populated urban areas such as Depok City. With the rapid pace of urbanization, the drainage infrastructure in Depok is confronted with multiple challenges, both technical and environmental in nature. This article examines the current state of the drainage system in Depok by utilizing reliable data and documenting real-life occurrences observed in the field. Through an in-depth analysis of rainfall data, the physical condition of drainage channels, and several flooding incidents that have occurred in recent years, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the situation. It also seeks to offer practical and strategic recommendations to improve drainage management in the area, thereby supporting better urban planning, disaster mitigation, and sustainable infrastructure development in the long term.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how people with visual impairments express their motivation through communicative actions in building social independence within digital spaces. Grounded in Motivation Action Theory (Heckhausen & Heckhausen, 2018), communication is understood as a goal-directed motivated action situated in social contexts. The research employs a qualitative content analysis design, examining open-access digital materials such as public podcasts, YouTube channels of disability organizations, online news portals, and inclusive digital campaigns that represent the communicative practices of visually impaired individuals. The analysis focuses on identifying motivational patterns, communicative strategies, and the meanings embedded in textual, audio, and visual content. The findings reveal four primary motivational drives behind their communicative actions: (1) strengthening public awareness, (2) demonstrating personal competence, (3) building community solidarity, and (4) expanding social and economic independence. Digital communication serves as a strategic medium for asserting identity, challenging stigma, and reinforcing social autonomy. Theoretically, this research extends the application of Motivation Action Theory within disability communication studies. Practically, it contributes to the development of more inclusive public communication strategies and media policies for people with visual impairments in Indonesia..

Abstract

The problem of household organic waste in Indonesia is increasing along with population growth and consumption patterns. Suboptimal waste management can lead to various negative impacts, such as environmental pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and health problems. One potential solution is the use of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggots (Hermetia illucens) as a bioconversion agent in organic waste processing. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of maggots in processing household organic waste and to assess their role as an environmental engineering effort. The research method used was a descriptive quantitative approach through direct observation of the organic waste decomposition process using maggots for 13 days. The organic waste used consisted of various types of household vegetable and fruit waste with a total weight of 10,379 grams. The results showed that the processing process produced 1,245.5 grams of maggot biomass and 1,476 grams of wet compost. Data analysis indicated that approximately 12% of the organic waste was successfully converted into maggot biomass, 14.2% into compost, and the organic waste reduction rate reached 73.8%. These results demonstrate that maggots have a high capacity to reduce organic waste volume quickly and efficiently. In addition to providing environmental benefits by reducing waste generation and greenhouse gas emissions, maggot utilization also produces economically valuable products in the form of high-protein alternative feed and organic fertilizer. Therefore, maggot utilization can be an effective, environmentally friendly, and sustainable environmental engineering solution for managing household organic waste

Abstract

The Thousand Islands, a key marine tourism destination in Indonesia, faces serious threats from environmental pollution. Plastic waste, oil spills, and unsustainable tourism activities damage the marine ecosystem, human health, and the socio-economic well-being of the local community. This study aims to examine the sources of pollution, its impacts, and mitigation efforts implemented in the Thousand Islands. The research method utilized a literature 1the primary pollution comes from microplastics, oil spills, and illegal tourism and fishing activities. This environmental damage reduces marine productivity, poses health risks, and fuels social inequality. Mitigation efforts need to be strengthened through plastic reduction policies, conservation education, and integrated waste management.

Abstract

Contract administration is a crucial aspect of successful construction project implementation, particularly for government projects with high levels of complexity, accountability, and risk. This study aims to analyze the implementation of standard contract administration procedures in the Presisi 5 POLRI Project, identify its level of compliance with applicable regulations, and examine obstacles and improvement efforts. The research method used was a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques included reviewing contract documents, field observations, and interviews with relevant parties. The results indicate that, in general, contract administration procedures have been implemented according to standards, but several obstacles remain in aspects such as documenting work changes, time management, and coordination between parties. This research is expected to provide practical contributions as evaluation material and recommendations for improving the quality of contract administration in government construction projects..

Abstract

The construction industry in Indonesia still faces various classic problems such as time delays, cost overruns, low labor productivity, and high levels of waste in project implementation. One construction management approach developed to address these issues is Lean Construction. This concept focuses on eliminating waste, increasing value for project owners, and continuously optimizing workflows. This study aims to examine the implementation of Lean Construction in improving construction project efficiency. The research method used was a literature review and conceptual analysis of Lean Construction principles, methods, and tools commonly applied to construction projects. The study results indicate that the application of Lean Construction through waste identification, the Last Planner System, continuous improvement, and collaboration between project parties can improve time efficiency, cost efficiency, and work quality. Therefore, Lean Construction can be used as a strategic approach in construction project management, oriented towards improving overall project performance.
