Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study uses the Location Quotient (LQ) approach and Klassen Typology to examine Lampung Province's tourism potential. The goal is to discover economic sectors with growth potential, increase tourism's position in the province's economy, and contribute to the advancement of tourist science. According to an LQ analysis of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) from 2015 to 2020, Pringsewu Regency, Bandar Lampung City, and Metro City are prospective bases in the lodging, food and beverage, information, communication, and property sectors. Pesisir Barat Regency demonstrates potential in two fundamental areas and one non-basic one. This study is designed to inform policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders about the sustainable expansion of the Lampung Province tourism sector and further contributions to tourism.

Abstract

The Urban Heat Island phenomenon is defined as a form of local climate change. In the formation of the Urban Heat Island phenomenon, there are several factors, namely changes in land use, vegetation density, building density, and vehicle emissions. Dense development areas that have caused changes in land use, settlements, and transportation activities have begun to accumulate in Kedaton District. Kedaton District is included in the activity center area so that changes in land use from 2017 to 2022 occur significantly, which can cause an increase in urban temperatures. This study aims to analyze the impact of changes in urban land use on Urban Heat Island in Kedaton District. The variables used are land use, surface temperature, vegetation density, building density, motor vehicle intensity, and motor vehicle emissions. The analytical methods used are LST, NDVI, NDBI, road service level analysis, vehicle emission analysis, and correlation analysis. The results of the analysis show that the impact of changes in land use will result in a 76% decrease in vegetation density in 2022, a 95% increase in building density, and a 99% increase in vehicle emissions. The impact of changes in land use has contributed to the distribution of urban heat islands in Kedaton District. To minimize the impact of changes in use on the Urban Heat Island in Kedaton District, mitigation efforts based on the resilient city concept are needed, namely the addition of private green open spaces, reflective roof paint in densely populated areas, and optimizing public transportation.

Abstract

Floods are hydro-meteorological events that could impact economic losses and threaten human life. Floods are events where water overflows in potential areas due to exceeding the river's capacity. Flood modeling is the key in reducing the impact of losses resulting from flood disasters. Satellite-based rainfall data provides data with spatial and temporal distribution that has the potential to be an alternative as input in flood modeling. The availability of satellite rainfall data as input for flood modeling certainly requires an assessment of the modeling results' accuracy level. This research aims to investigate the performance of flood inundation modeling using CHIRPS data. The accuracy value of flood modeling results is calculated by comparing flood modeling results through Snyder-Alexejev synthetic unit hydrograph discharge calculations, which are then applied to 2D flood hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS. The findings indicate that as an alternative to rainfall station data to model flood inundation, Chirps data have a level of accuracy that can be considered. Even though there are differences in the extent and depth of flood inundation between CHIRPS data and observation rainfall stations data, the results of modeling with CHIRPS data can contribute to mapping potential flood-prone areas.

Abstract

Indonesia's location in a region prone to a variety of natural and societal disasters highlights the critical need of comprehending society's susceptibility to such events. Tulang Bawang Regency, located in Lampung Province, is vulnerable to various risks, particularly those associated with flood catastrophes. This research aims to assess the community's susceptibility in Tulang Bawang Regency to several types of catastrophes, focusing on social, economic, physical, and environmental factors. The research approach utilized combines the four primary aspects of vulnerability - social, physical, economic, and environmental - through the MCDA spatial method. The study on vulnerability to flood disasters in Tulang Bawang Regency shows that the most affected vulnerable population is in Dente Teladas District, particularly individuals of vulnerable age, residents in poverty, and people with disabilities. The assessment indicates that the Rawa Jitu District region has the highest levels of economic vulnerability, particularly in relation to poverty. The projected material losses from flooding are 23,125.11 million rupiah for physical damage and 50,356.32 million rupiah for economic losses. In addition, there is a possibility of substantial environmental harm in Tulang Bawang Regency, estimated at 35,508.18 hectares.
